    I love the enterprise waited 5 years for her to be added to the game, wished she was reserved as a museum

      I'm not going to lie, but I'm not sad when I'm in a game that doesn't have an aircraft carrier in it. But if you're going to have aircraft carriers, you ought to have Enterprise.
      I think we'd all love.to.have had the opportunity to visit this ship.

      They tried, even Adm. Halsey helped lead the fight to try and save the Big E. Sadly, it was well before the the movement of saving older warships as museums, really came into it's own.

    Most mad about: to hear she was scrapped instead of becoming a museum ship… though you definitely took the sting out of that by slowly dropping that bomb (pun intended).
    Most happy about: splitting this video from the review, given the amount of history to cover!
    I do hope the comments are kept reasonably civil regarding your “brief” history on her, and no doubt barely being able to scratch the surface in this “short” video. 😂. I do hope those who are more keenly interested read more about her!
    As always, cheers and I look forward to your review!

      I'm going to forget someone's favorite bit of trivia. Might as well hang a lantern on it, as they say. It is a shame about the ship not being preserved, but when you look at the sort of effort required to keep ships that took a lot less damage in museum condition coming upon 90 years after when she was laid down, it was a big ask. That doesn't make any of us wish we could visit her less though.
      Glad you liked the video, as always, Bronner!

    Just going to add this about the Enterprise as well. CV-6 was also the first and only foreign country warship to receive from The Royal Navy the British Admiralty Pennant The pennate is the highest honor a ship can receive in The Royal Navy.

    I was stationed on her successor (CVN 65) so I felt obligated to buy Big E. But they did her dirty, which makes me sad, given her durability throughout the war they could have atleast made her above average in survivability related state.

    If someones wants a surprisingly thorough history of the Pacific Theater during WW2... just tell em "Follow the Enterprise". Well done on condensing what could be a full Semester College course into less than 30 minutes 😅

    • @tacticangel
      @tacticangel  Před měsícem

      That's true. I never really thought about it like that. 😎 With only 22 operations where a ship could earn a battle star, earning 20 speaks for being in some way involved with about 90% of the war in the Pacific, and at that point, you might accidentally hit 100% by pointing out things she missed.

    Of course Enterprise got its own history video ! I did one in french and it made no less than 50min xD always nice to watch some piece of this ship's incredible career, too bad its game counterpart is a far cry from what it should be...

    • @tacticangel
      @tacticangel  Před měsícem +1

      Yeah. Thing about the Enterprise is you can talk about it for as long as your audience is willing to listen. We'll test the waters with this one, though I think 26 minutes is a pretty good. That Barret Tillman book is over 10 hours long in audio book form. 😄 But yeah... I don't have many nice things to say about her representation in the game...
      Spoiler alert! 😎

    I disagree, would say it was after Guadalcanal that the Japanese on the defensive. Even after Midway, the Japanese were still on the offensive to some extent.

    • @tacticangel
      @tacticangel  Před měsícem

      It might be a question of perspective, but the Solomons (and Guadalcanal in particular) were occupied by Japan prior to US landings. They might have fought bitter counter-offensives, but that was all in hopes of not losing ground.
