The quality of the reprint is good but I wonder who thought it was a good idea to reduce the pages to add a totally innecesary frame with the date of the comic and a darker tone. It gives me the feeling of reading a photocopy and it totally puts me out of the story. Terrible idea, at least they didn´t do this on the CTB omnibuses,.

Hi. Jim from Madrid, Spain (a fellow artist and a New Yorker expat living abroad). The metabarons are a great art piece from the weird and geniuos mind of the concept, but thanks to Juan Gimenez, the real artist behind the scenes, it would have never been what it has become (most other Artists afterwards have not been able to replicate the true original artwork - this was also said by it's conceptual creator). And yeah! I still don't understand why "Hollywood" has not made a real movie saga about it... (too many if's). Anyways... the Metabarins is an amazing family saga... and Gimenez's art work is incredible! Cheers from Sunny Spain! 😁👍😎✌

Completely agree. The old line drawings leave room in your imagination. I wondered if I was the only person who thought that. The newer stuff is cool too but it’s a lot different.

From the excerpts here, Patrick Mason's translation here looks all right. I have the German "retranslation" by Stephanie Pannen and she has done a terrible job of turning it back into German. Her German is truly a dumbing down of Wagner's libretto, so I am sure it is better to read Craig Russell's work in English. I dont share your extreme enthusiasm but I would recommend the book too.

One of the greatest comic series ever. I still buy one copy every time I visit my local comic shop. (They got an area in the back full of Savage Sword and 2000AD issues for sale.) The art is truly unparalleled. They gave so much love to the Conan universe with this series. Some of my favorite comics of all time. Grew up with them in my house, Dad had a bunch in a box. I am still trying to collect them all.

There's a biological issue with Santa's reindeer being male. They're depicted as still having antlers after the rut, when the males have shed their antlers. Those sleigh pulling reindeer are female.
