Tarkovski is a bit far etched recommendation in a marvel movie context, don't you think? A bit like recommending Bach's Well Temnpered Clavier instead of Taylor Swift. But I'm not putting that down, it's just funny.
Ok... But I as a finn, living next door to Russia, find it confusing anyway, I mean it is so north america-centric view, like watch something russian, whatever the century or context :D That's ridiculous. I mean if someone wants to watch let's say something like the Iron Man movie and I recommend to watch Gettysburg instead, because they are both from the united states, would you think these movies a good match?

Like this example that there's a soviet superhero in a us comic book, so you better watch Tarkovski's movie about medieval church builder who was also a russian... I mean, come on.
