  • Before he became Peter Pan, before his arrival to Neverland, he was a boy fighting for survival. Born into the harsh Dickensian London suburbs, an alcoholic mother leaving him in an almost-orphan state, Peter's only retreat from reality was the fantastical stories given to him by a friendly neighbour - allowing him to escape temporarily from the darkness of the adult world.

Looks interesting. I keep meaning to check out different French comics, I hear a lot of good things about them so it’s nice when an Internet personality makes a recommendation like this.

French comics and anime are amazing it can be hard to find one's that are translated but it's still well worth the time to find them.

just checked it out, looks great. And found the art style looks exactly like "The Quest for the Time-Bird" (Auf der Suche nach dem Vogel der Zeit/La Quête de l'oiseau du temps), and that is not a coincidence, it's the same artist. Which is great, since that is one of my favourite European comic books of all times. thanks for the tip (from an older guy, who thankfully at least grew up with Time-Bird). Also great to see you're on Hannibal now, been waiting for a while ;)

Hey Chris nice to see you again! First off, great showcase of Loisel's Pan; the art presentation, summation of the angles it comes from, balanced suggestion on the mindset required to get into it, and great backstory that for some reason doesn't come with the thing at all!
Second, you don't actually always get the colors wrong! You'd be surprised how often that's printer error or worse(and much bigger pain in the ass to fix) it's a program error and then you have to troubleshoot where it's seeing a color shift and how to fix it. I'd also suggest that you do a routine screen temp and color correction check every month, you would be surprised how often displays can shift
For those saying our pop culture is mostly shit, remember that this is only due to the level of exposure available to all of us now.
Perfect example is shovelware. A LOT of people think that the PS1 & PS2 were amazing and had just a plethora of great games and nothing else can ever match it. But that isn't the case, for every 1 good game on either system there was 15 shit ones that were shoved out half done or just were plain bad. The difference is now we have such a massive connection to media we didn't have back then that it seems so much worse than it is. Sure the garbage is being pushed by you know who, but it was kind of that way before as well.
Mad at Marvel movies? It was literally the same thing with the tv show ER or say Friends, couldn't escape it, everyone especially the critics raved about it, and it was trash. We are in a perpetual state of revisiting our past out of bankruptcy and mostly out of a fear that we won't be able to create anything as foolish as that sounds.
P.S.- You're onto something on that are bubble, a lot of people actually construct those bubbles themselves too. You can dig yourself into a hole despite having the internet at your fingertips; we just miss it due to making our own little corners

Hey Victor! Thanks for watching - and yeah - it's a mystery with colour / printing etc. I guess in a perfect world you're there seeing it come off and you can tweak it. Loisel is kick ass.

@@Steininger_Art I have a love hat relationship with printing, I know way more about it than I wish I did but at the same time the challenges they present are also so satisfying to unravel

but funny how you felt cheated, we country pumpkins felt the same way when we entered our first comic book stores with American comics (after a life time of nothing but Franco-Belgium school and Werner) and we got our hands on Frank Miller, Stan Sakai, Mike Mignola..

Yeah, I guess it works both ways for sure. Maybe it's a case of the grass always being greener. I don't know if I would have appreciated guys like Mobius when I was 12 anyways, so perhaps it would have been all lost on me.

Thank you for the little update on hannibal.
I have not purchased it, but am really looking forward to its release, and hope that I can get my hands on a copy.
I’ve enjoyed the Asterix comics as a child, and have since then not really been into Comic stuff. However the entire Hannibal thing, albeit its little “scandals” if you even call it that, has really sparked my interest in comics again. And with this video I’m really tempted to try out comics again, if you’d like to share some titles with different art styles and genres that you enjoy or find interesting, I’d really look forward to that!
Thanks a lot! insightful video and a pleasure to watch.

I really like it. I think I've mentioned it a couple times in different videos. Working on Hannibal, I glance at it once in a while to see his takes on costumes. All in all, I like it. I haven't read the entire thing, but I certainly admire his commitment to it.
