Myrtos or Mirtos is a coastal village located in south Crete, 15 km west of Ierapetra. Myrtos is known as destination of endless summer thanks to 320 sunny days annually. The village is very picturesque with colorful flowers and lovely coastal promenade with tavernas and cafes. The accommodation options consist mainly of small family hotels or rooms, studios and apartments for rent. Myrtos beach is mix of pebbles and grey sand and it is spacious, further to the west the beach is getting wider and there is plenty of free space. The sea bottom starts to descend quite close to the shore. A small port can be found in the eastern edge of the village. Myrtos is charming place that still has an authentic atmosphere without mass tourism.
