Souda beach is located in south Crete, 40 km south of Rethymno and just 3 km west of Plakias. It’s 500 m long mixed beach of sand and small pebbles with crystal clear waters.
Souda beach is organised with plenty beach sets for rent but you can find easily a free space for own equipment. The beach descends deep quite close to the shore but you can see the bottom even in deep waters. Behind the beach are beach bars, tavernas and several parking areas. Souda beach is connected with Plakias by comfortable asphalt road so it’s easy to get there, moreover it’s even possible to walk it as there is a pedestrian path along the road.
Next to the beach by its west edge, there is a palm grove whereas on the east edge of the beach there are flat rocks surrounded by beatiful shades of the sea.
Souda beach is very nice place for relaxing and enjoying refreshing waters close to the popular holiday destination in south Crete.
