Vai beach is located in Lasithi region in East Crete. The distance from the nearest town Sitia is 24 km and the road till the huge parking just behind the beach is comfortable. The Vai beach is one of the highlights of Crete as just behind the beach is the largest palm forest in Europe. The beach offers organised as well as free part. From the parking behind the beach there are wooden paths leading to the amenities of Vai beach which are: beach sets, changing rooms, showers, water sports and beach bar and restaurant. The beach and its surrounding is very well maintained. On the east side of the beach there are stairs to the view point from where its possible to see whole beach with the palm forest behind and from there is also possible to continue the path on rocky seaside to nudist beach hidden 100 meters behind cliffs. Vai beach has fine sand and crystal clear waters with varying bottom so in some parts it gets suddenly deeper. Definitely Vai beach belongs to the best beaches and must visit places of the island. The landscape is very unique and visiting Vai beach is pleasant and relaxing experience.
