Mochlos is a coastal village in east Crete, located 34 km west of Sitia. The village is very picturesque with a seaside promenade surrounded by tavernas and cafes and lovely streets with colorful flowers. In the centre of Mochlos, is a small sandy beach. The azure waters surrounding the village are exceptionally beautiful. A small uninhabited island Agios Nikolaos is 150 m north from the coast of Mochlos. The island is named after the church of Agios Nikolaos that is built there. Also on the island are archaeological ancient ruins. Mochlos is less known place that is away from mass tourism and remains rather traditional and quite village and visitation is a great experience for those who seek peaceful relaxation by the sea.
