Hi sorry for the late reply, 2024 is keeping me busier than usual. From what I see on 20a escs are about 7 cells nimh max. 8 cells are pushing it on 20amp. Try a 40amp brushed esc.

I specifically bought the B09ZF8S3CR version.

The Red connectors are JST Plugs and the white ones are Molex Plugs.

Yes it will work. This alarm completely removes the cylinder they use to start the car and it won't start without the Key Fob near or in the car.

Your best option is to just switch to a Lipo Battery. Thatll provide way more power than the AAA's.

@@Vxyyh you’re right . They never replied but yes you can switch your Kia to push to start. Mine should be here later this week. I bought two . The first one was cheaper and not really compatible (idk) either a wire was bad or it wasn’t compatible. So I got the ghost key plug n play one . That’s what I’m waiting on. It’s supposed to be way simpler to install

Mine just got broke into the day I left the dealership. TWICE !! This is my only solution and a wheel lock. Tired of these Kia boys

Sorry so late on the reply. It Can be complicated and confusing to wire alone but cam be done.

3 things I would try... 1. A different gearing setup. Something with a lower teeth number on the Pinion and a higher number on the Spur gear should help. If that doesn't help.. 2. I assume it's because your running a 2-pole brushless vs a 4-pole brushless motor or too high of a KV on your motor. Refund and Stay around 4500kv. I tried a 3430 size 7200kv and it wasn't powerful enough for it at all. 3rd... to consider the length of motor you got. I think 3430 is too short. A 3435 or maybe a 3440 @ 4500kv (if it fits) would be the best performance.

Blomiky 2 Pack XT60 Plug 11.1V 3S... www.amazon.com/dp/B07DNQMRWW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share This battery Does NOT FIT without cutting large sections to get it to fit and Most motors of this size do not recommend using a 3s battery unless its a low kv motor like 2800kv... HOWEVER the arrangement is not impossible. It was designed to be a 2S 2000 mah battery compartment @ maximum. I would assume you could do wheelies only with a set of fresh soft tires and some "off the wall" setup as 3s all because gear ratios are limited on this vehicle due to space limits. But I sure could be proven wrong as long as Hobby Grade Tech gets better.. but on Average?...I think No. Wheelies would be pushing the general capabilities of this vehicle... It was a little sloppy at the dirt track on 2s.

Yes, it can be completely removed with this. That's the best part. No more cylinder to "switch on" the car. It's completely digital and relys on the presence of the key to function.

2 things for this issue i have too. I'm working on acquiring a 3d printer that can print "high stress gear" quality parts. At the same time I want to order a set of various gears to try various ratios and results. Hopefully providing a cheap alternative if you can't obtain a 3d printer. For 2024 I'll have a better season of videos to showcase for this.

Great to hear you succeeded! I want to swap the motor with a brushless one, which i have, but I think if I pull the wheel off it won't retain the same grip on the driveshaft needed for the new power....

Wow, that's up there. I learned real quick that a larger gauge wire pulls in too way much juice at those rpms and just heats up in seconds on any load, then the armature parts start to melt.

True. I plan to get an auto switch meant for that channel. The servo method is just an alternative if you don't happen to have the resources to get one.

Thanks! I'm glad to help and motivate! Seeing the possibilities is a game changer for these cars and the hobby! I hope to see more project and car meets in my area so it all about showing what we can all do with what we have right here at home that we already paid good money for... like RadioShack... built last.. last into a collection.. some of these cars are truly, Truly rare now, some were literally dumped over Nothing... but to me?!??? That 2-speed differential Alone is priceless. It not on rc's now.... ;) The Xmods are the "Midnight Club" "NFS Underground" & "Fast and Furious" Type RC Cars of their time. I'm super glad I'm able to keep them driving let alone faster. Its a plus even for double the time and better steering.

On the stock electronics? No... well.. maybe some kind of "reballing" process to remelt the solder on the board to make sure the connections are intact but that could also further damage the board and components.. but maybe a similar process could be achieved safely by hand melting each solder point with a normal soldering iron.. it's a gamble though. Those cars are super old now having gone through all kinds of possible deterioration environments like near the beach or water. That's why the complete change in components.. sad to say nothing lasts forever if not properly stored..just sitting around.

That's right and you would be surprised of the results on something you could already have at home.

No need for apologies, as long as you have a connection, that's all that matters. This Car is built for 12v so any 3S battery is perfect. Just mod the cars stock esc's main black and red wire battery inputs to a connector that is opposite your 3S battery. That 3S Battery alone on the stock esc and remote should be a huge upgrade with no mods beyond that, and should be safe with proper rest when driving..it'll get Super Hot! RadioShack made some very High Quality Products that were taken for granted, and their rc cars are the proof. Those motors to the wheels are "Out-of-the-box Hobby Grade" quality. Meant to last on lower power. Soo... Remember stepping into hobby power means more maintenance and wear. You will eventually have to get a new one, as all brushed motors only last so long, especially at full power and stress conditions. Choose brushless... ;) for next episode. Upgrade, be safe, have fun!

It's great! The only real issue I've had is accidentally putting it into valet mode in my pocket, preventing the car the car from starting normally til you disable it. The LED will stay on when this happens. I keep the manual screensshotted in my phone to remember the steps.

Just a follow-up note. I haven't seen an RC post from you in awhile, only gamer recordings. Really miss your RC content. I learnt a lot from you as you seemed to be more technical than others who do RC conversions. Between the suspension upgrades (of which I have now done a few) and the rewinding of motors (I've bought the supplies but haven't tried yet), watching your channel has helped inspire what I have achieved so far as it relates to converting toy grade RC cars to semi-hobby grade. I trust you are ok, and your lack of posting is just because life (work, family, stuff...) has you busy. Hope to see new RC content from you in the near future.

Lol I know what you mean. But for being just a toy RC vs Hobby grade; having a spot for a 2nd motor, lights, proportional throttle, and awd makes a decent car for the younger ones who are interested but haven't learned to finesse the controls yet. In fact, you could probably even get away with clearing the body paint and repaint it like a hobby grade body. It's all introductionary. If no one buys the toys they won't get better, same for the hobby grade ones of course.

For $13 at Target, for a car that detailed of that size, and with game pass, that's pretty good

Trash? Maybe compared to some other cars, sure. Modded, it's better.

It sounds like your using a reciever that was used on a Nitro car. That was the way they were set up on vcc. Strange there's nothing on other channels. Black wires should be on outer edge. How long have you had that receiver? Also check your alignment dials if you have them and center them. Being slightly off will not calibrate with the receiver when turned on.

I agree, however its the only car using this frame and motor caseing.casting. making it too unique. I hope its a preview of what is next to come from them.

No you don't, you can neatly hide it along the body and forget about it. Some people lose them after rolls or crashes anyway.
