What is your opinion on the Rastar Dodge Charger R/T - do you think the proportions look correct? Something doesn't look right to me, maybe the wheelbase is too short? It would be great to see some new Rastar cars in 2023 and some more local market special editions as well.
1st, I agree I hope that 2023 brings another great arsenal of cars. There attempt to make better toy rc cars is a great product result. My only complaint really is the suspension but they have already made the changes on this last '22 generation.
2nd, Your right, it doesn't look as long as it should. I wonder if it had anything to do with drivability, being too long for a toy rc (lack of weight and power to scale). Because they aren't proportional steering, that might have been an issue combined with short steering angle. Shortening it may have been the solution. Odd move to make.
I'd love to see these toy RC's in a real competition, kids have them and get clever at that stage anyway, plus that would make a great bridge for people to get into the hobby grade side.
@@backtothetrackgarage8790 The Rastar brand is one of the best for scale realistic entry level RC cars and I like that they are always fully licensed. Although I like Lamborghinis and Ferraris It would be good to see something different in 2023. Yes, the suspension is generally to protect the car from big hits rather than to provide a smooth ride. My newest model to date is the Bugatti Divo. The Dodge Charger is certainly one of the most unusual models that Rastar has produced recently as virtually all the models are new production cars. Notice that it is 1:16 rather than 1:14 scale though. Although these models are a stepping stone to hobby grade RC, they aren't the easiest to control for new drivers. The WPL cars for example come with fully proportional controls in this price range.
@@BlackSeaRC True! Lol those WLToys RCs are very impressive for the cost. (I should pick one up..) Maybe we should let Rastar know that New Bright started putting porptional throttle into their RC's (ie. The $30 AWD Corvette I keep mentioning) and maybe they'll consider it 🤔
@@BlackSeaRC Oh, the Dodge.. that Scale difference, probably confirms that the 1:14 scale prototype was probably too big for the generic motor system they were using. Lol it was a weight to power thing.
@@backtothetrackgarage8790 I think part of the reason Rastar hasn't done it yet is because their push-button style handsets don't suit proportional controls.
