  • I have acquired the 1/18 scale ECX Ruckus. It's been sitting a while so I'm going to clean off the rust, fills the Shocks, install electronics and see how it'll turn out.
    The 1/18 ECX Ruckus is a smaller, high durability, rc truck Ready-2-Run out of the box.

    you know what that truck reminds of, I have an 1/18 XTM Rage 4wd truck that came brushless out of the box and is faster then snot but even though it is complete and runs perfect i can't bring myself to take it out and run it because there aren't any replacement parts to be had anywhere, and as fast as it is i know i'll break something. I can't even get replacement wheels and tires for it because even though the truck is 1/18 scale, it has 12mm hex's and wide wheels like a 1/10 scale but the diameter is small like a 1/16 scale. Last year there was 1 set of new xtm Rage tires for sale in the UK but by the time i would have paid their asking price plus the shipping it would have cost close to $150 just for a set of tires. so the truck just hangs on the wall with a couple other odd ball cars i can't get parts for like my tamiya F1 car that has a special chassis they only made for 2 years......

    Is there a 2s lipo that fits in the battery slot?

    I just upgraded to this brushless set up and im having an issue with calibration. Cogging and slow take off, any ideas how to calibrate it?

      3 things I would try... 1. A different gearing setup. Something with a lower teeth number on the Pinion and a higher number on the Spur gear should help. If that doesn't help.. 2. I assume it's because your running a 2-pole brushless vs a 4-pole brushless motor or too high of a KV on your motor. Refund and Stay around 4500kv. I tried a 3430 size 7200kv and it wasn't powerful enough for it at all. 3rd... to consider the length of motor you got. I think 3430 is too short. A 3435 or maybe a 3440 @ 4500kv (if it fits) would be the best performance.

    What is the fastest battery you can use with this setup? Also do you think it could wheelie?

      Well... Overkill Maximum? Something like this... Blomiky 2 Pack XT60 Plug 11.1V 3S... www.amazon.com/dp/B07DNQMRWW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
      This battery Does NOT FIT without cutting large sections to get it to fit and Most motors of this size do not recommend using a 3s battery unless its a low kv motor like 2800kv... HOWEVER the arrangement is not impossible.
      It was designed to be a 2S 2000 mah battery compartment @ maximum. I would assume you could do wheelies only with a set of fresh soft tires and some "off the wall" setup as 3s all because gear ratios are limited on this vehicle due to space limits. But I sure could be proven wrong as long as Hobby Grade Tech gets better.. but on Average?...I think No. Wheelies would be pushing the general capabilities of this vehicle... It was a little sloppy at the dirt track on 2s.

    Thanks to your video. I forgot I could just add oil to the shocks to better their performance. What motor combo did you use did you need a new controller

      Glad to help! I motor combo I used is the 7200KV 4P Sensorless Brushless Motor with 25A Brushless ESC www.amazon.com/dp/B09NK25BHD/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_N3T8A7W2DACWVRZ0TYGP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
      And as for the controller...the Flysky GT2B Radio Transmitter & GR3E Receiver, 3 Channel 2.4Ghz Internal Rechargeable Transmitter Battery www.amazon.com/dp/B08NH4PBLC/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_NZT20C42GFNPXTMYPF1G?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

      @@joshuawolkiewicz6355 Yes your original controller and Receiver can stay, you only need to swap the Motor and ESC.

    What was your steering issue? Mine pulls hard to the right when accelerating.

    • @backtothetrackgarage8790
      @backtothetrackgarage8790  Před rokem

      I think the steering motor needs another or just a better capacitor, they seem to be picking up alot of noise when accelerating.

      As for the motor, I used a high rpm 2430, but it was very under powered, I'd recommend this instead, it's just 10mm longer and should boost torque significantly.
