      Even without downforce it could still, in theory, affect handling. It could affect the rotational speed, so for example when it wants to swap ends on him, it's less likely. Pay attention to the wing design on his other speed build. Tall wing, no downforce.

    Try stiffer springs and running higher rake, so the back is higher than the front. This increases the area the air needs to fill effectively sucking the car to the ground with no added drag

  • @kasuraga

    You might wanna put some angle on the wing. I'm wondering if at speed that wing is producing a bit of lift and causing the rear end to spin out.

    • @kasuraga
      @kasuraga Pƙed 3 lety +6

      @@_M_a_r_t_i_n_M Yeah you really can't rely on having just a flat surface if air can go above and below it. The angle of the car is then going to determine if it's making lift or downforce. He at least needs to put some sort of a kick up on the trailing edge to give it enough downforce to keep it stable. Looks like every time it got up around 60mph the rear end wanted to come around like it was on ice.

    • @Blaquer17
      @Blaquer17 Pƙed 3 lety +2

      @@kasuraga true, it’s probably making downforce due to attack angle right up until it hits a certain speed, then once the rear is lower than the front the attack angle switches to generating lift and it spins.

    • @xKevmachinex
      @xKevmachinex Pƙed 3 lety +2

      so basically the rear wing is flat sitting still, but I suspect the front lifts while the rear end sinks which would point the rear wing down to the ground slightly creating lift, thus spinning out, the rear seemed like it was a bit soft and low, so he's gonna have to either give that wing some positive angle or raise the rear end up with with some thicker springs/tighter. Either way its a mixture of imbalance in the overall form of the rc, with the larger battery, the foam wheels, the wing and the suspension set up as well as the size of the rc. I also suspect the rears are locked up while the fronts might have a bit of play to them with the silicon plugs so more power is getting sent to rear effectively pushing its own self into a spin.

    It may be a bit late, but if you want to use plastic that can be heated and bent, but isn't too brittle, you could try sheets of ABS. I used it quite a bit in custom applications for car audio back in the day. We frequently used the 1/8" and 3/16" sheets. It's pretty tough but a heat gun makes it bendable and it will hold its new shape. You can sand the thicker stuff to a sharp edge if you need to, for aerodynamics.

    In physics, an object always wants to have the center of weight in front of the center of drag, so if this car is turning round then it may mean the center of weight is in back of the car and somehow the center of drag is at the front. It can also be tire setup, so I think the camber and toe adjustments can be played with.

    You need to limit the travel of the rear shocks to keep the tire angle flat. When the car gets to speed, the rear shocks are compressed causing the tire angle to change. Also, put some weight on the front end to balance the center of gravity. However so slightly, most of your weight is distributed towards the rear which also adds to the compression of your rear shocks.

    1.Try to completley lock the diffs up (because when it hits bumps on the surface , one wheel is gonna catch air and will get more power than the others, and when it touches the ground again it will spin faster than the others and will make the car spin)
    2. Put harder oil in the shocks (the soft bottoms out and as it hits the floor it will make the car unstable)
    3.Put harder springs in it (so when the shocks compress it doesnt take such long time to get to a normal position again)
    4.definetley put a wing with some degree on it, the big 200mph goes straight because its heavy and the body has a lot of downforce. but this is a small and light car, so a wing makes a big difference
    5. move the shock position to make the shock less straight
    but the main thing will be the wing. that turning effect was so big, it gotta be the wing

    I recommend you this tips for all the high speed cars, this tips are all to make the car more stable , less top speed but more stable and more downforce so that it stops spinning which is going to end up being faster :
    - front as low as posible and rear as high as possible
    - don’t put a flat rear wing because that makes the car way too unstable and if you are going to put it flat then better take it off it is just more weight that works for nothing
    - take all the extra things that you can away and always try to find the lightest ones if they are necessary
    - and use a stiffer suspension

  • @liam6999
    @liam6999 Pƙed 3 lety

    It’s to do with the wing you need more down force I tried heaps of different wings and the stock one was best on the wl an it has to do with the ground.the reason why the flat wing works good with the limitless is because it already has heaps of downforce from the body and has plenty of weight at the back but the wl toys is light

    The diffuser doesn't create downforce persay but a vacuum underneath the car. You want the front end low as possible. And you want the diffuser to funnel the air to a more narrow channel at th back end o the car between the rear wheels. That accelerates the air leaving the back of the car and creates the vacuum that holds your car down. I learned all this for actual cars

    maybe also a cender diff would help keeping it straight. as power kicks in the waight should be more on the back wheels and with a center diff the front wheels would just spin a bit faster as the back ones to "pull" it straight. but i dont know if there is something like a center diff for that RC.

    It's the wing you made is to much weight, so it makes it switch ends. I would suggest using a plastic wing with a little more thickness then the original wing. I've done this and works perfectly. I used a heat gun to bend the plastic, and have a 3D printed wing.

    its spinning because the rear is now heavier, so any left or right momentum spins the car, the rear fin stops the car spinning when it reaches to the front, because of the air flow.
    regarding the 203hp project, drag cars have a wheelie bar to stop flipping, and bigger rear wheels for more torque. Also would recommend, more foam on the wheels, and smaller rims.
