From a spiritual perspective I cannot co-sign the boyfriend’s position, because that is wild. There is no way I would have been voluntarily giving up my womb and creating life for a man who hadn’t promised to cover me until death do us part. Now I have 2 kids and 2 high risk pregnancies later, no way. But on the real. They got together extremely young and they have fundamental foundational beliefs that are not equal. When they started dating they were most likely not thinking this deeply and have been together for years and have just decided that this is it for me. They need to level with each other and be honest and think about a LIFE together. But the sex and all of that is definitely blinding.

I think the genuine shock from the wife is because so many men ask for that type of woman, that it's surprising to hear a man say he doesn’t want that. It goes to show tho, someone will love you the way you are, not the way you're l trying to force yourself to be.

It is complete common sense to not face something like a bowl upward. Even if it’s just used to dry. The water will go with gravity. So it sits in the bowl. Why dirty water sloshes around, it will sit in that bowl also. And this black house uses a dishwasher, as it is and to dry. I’m 30

💯Love has so many layers for me, when I think of everything, marriage and when Love one’s are know longer on this earth it’s enough to have made me lost my mind, but GOD, I’m so hurt to the core of my soul until something’s are a blur but I understand some of what happened and it’s like because If I feel anymore pain it might push me to the other side and I’m always asking GOD to keep my mind strong because I have a lot of people that really needs me to help them hold things together, I have to put in the work to keep my mind and spirit healthy and I do all that I can , Most of all I have to trust GOD , my Sisters were here and then they left like two weeks apart a long with other family members and friends and it didn’t have anything to do with c-virus, my family is so close cousins are like siblings that’s how we were raised with so much Love and respect for each other and now I feel crushed, I have married Love, family, friends, etc but most of all Love for GOD , I can feel some of my pain shifting where I can look at pictures and videos so I’m greatful for all the layers of Love I’m able to give as well as receive, quite Love when there’s no talking, can we talk Love, let’s pray Love, I’m here with you Love, can we just hold hands Love , and just let me be Love, just let me have this moment cause I can’t explain it just let me get it out for now this is what I need , I’m in a better place in my heart and mind but I still have my times of flare ups when it’s like today are yesterday, But I also have my layers of Love

You all have such good perspectives and help to normalize challenges in marriages because it is truly normal to have challenges. In the same breathe Glenn doing his wife's hair during the podcast may seem like a small thing but to me it shows the growth and how as a husband he prioritized her. Love this😍

Its so interesting that men demand respect and use Ephesians for it but always show it in such a harsh intimidating manner to their wives or show so much disrespect to the wife, as if she doesnt deserve respect too. I had to deal with a guy who would constantly state he wants respect but utterly disrespect me and family all the time, sometimes in a very very aggressive dominating manner. But would never apologize for it and stand on it continually. And then would never understand why i would walk away constantly and when asked, could never understand why i never see myself submitting to him. He refused to change and yet constantly would tell me my list in what i wanted in a husband needed to be changed😑🤔🙃

Wait when is the next How married are you live and are currently single young people who desire health life long marriages allowed to attend 😁😁😁🤔🤔🤔

I understand partially but is he helping her get the weight off? Is he exercising with her? Is he cooking nutritional meals for her? Is he being lazy and not helping around the house? Is he getting to the root, like grief or depression or being overwhelmed with the home? So many men dont help with managing the home, THEIR home too, and do not understand a womans cycle and hormones especially with kids. He needs to be damn sure he aint part of the reason she gained weight by letting her become a live in house slave and he just sitting on the couch or out the house all day. And he better look like a model himself. And he honestly sounds selfish and shallow. I bet alot of money he is contributing to her neglect. Neglect from the husband is the #1 reason today women are getting divorced according to divorce attorneys. But if he is trying to help her and she is just being complacent then its also on her. A lot of men and women do not take seriously the importance of taking care of your appearance and your temple for marriage and physical and spiritual health and sweep it under the rug for other excuses and refuse self discipline. Marriage frumpiness is not a good excuse.

This generation is so bizarre smh. If you arent marrying because you love the person, then just call the other person your roomate. Dont do the wedding for tens of 1000s of dollars, buy the house, the car, the joint account, all the things if not for love. Thats a lot of dang work to do and not be in love. Huh??? You doing alllllll that and not for love?? Lol mad cap. Why are we suddenly soooo opposed of marriage due to love? When the God who is Love created marriage and desires and COMMANDS it because he said it is good? Lol this woman was truly in denial. If she didnt walk away, thats on her. Honestly she clearly does not feel highly of herself to endure such a wack dude like that. He is lying to her big time and trying to finesse her. I did this foolishness, years on and off with a dude who would allwaysssss tell me we werent in a relationship but wanted a baby and claimed later after ghosting me for a year during the pandemic to want to marry but i put my foot down and said no. Im not your back up option. Do not settle for immature childish men like this. Why do we women feel like we have to endure nonsense like this as par for the course and we have to forgive and work it out. Move on!! He made his bed and laid in it. Dont jump in the bed too.

This conversation hit home for me in a different way because I was an 8 year old child who came into my aunt and uncle home after my mom passed, and I became a ward of the state. I grew up with verbal abuse, manipulation, and controlling people who were supposed to love me, and I was able to build walls up around me as a way to protect me mentally, emotionally, and physically. But then I became pregnant and brought my daughter up in this same environment, and I could never speak up for her. I could see it was affecting her worse than it affected me, so the only way I could protect her was to move out of the home. I am still learning how to stand up and protect my child and myself against my family.

I struggle with a lot of these concepts because all of this SOUNDS good but the bills is due now? 😂 I as a fiancée have always been ready to do whatever for mine - I can’t relate to the “Whatever he wants to do. When he desires…at his pace. His wife is probably fine.” Lol

As long as she has the attitude she has, this relationship will not survive. This could have been avoided if he had taken responsibility for using protection also. It takes two.

Between Yvette's soothing tone and watching Glen do Yvette's hair, I didn't stand a chance staying awake after I hit the couch. Rewatched, well mostly listened instead, and enjoyed the conversation. Definitely makes for a good premarital topic too. Thanks much 👍🏽.

I, unfortunately, also have a narcissistic father that used and took advantage of me and I will say it is extremely hard to finally come to grips with who your father is. Naturally, you have an openness to your father, especially when he gives you a sense of purpose. However, narcissistic parents don’t have pure motives for their children. He sounds like the golden child tbh. Unfortunately, the husband will need to understand how they really are using you for their own gain to cover up their own insecurities and they will replace you in a hot second if they can’t control you. Personally, leaving that made me feel like a shell of a person and it took me a while to prepare for those empty feelings but God has stepped in. For me, I was always waiting for my father’s approval, affection and acceptance and the behavior the husband is exhibiting reminds me of that. It took me 16 years to finally come to grips with who my father is and how destructive he really is which is VERY hard to comprehend with their yo-young behavior. The husband is going to have to do a lot of therapy and praying to properly move on from this so it doesn’t persist in his family.

Yvette I understand how you don’t feel like it right now, bc it will shift your family dynamic and their expectations of you so you may feel like you may lose that . And if it’s not directly impacting you on the day to day I get that, however with the writer she was in those daily situations , so I think he would’ve had to address it sooner bc it was impacting her quality of life on a day to day basis

I hate that it seems like in the black community, there is always issue with the man’s side of the family and the wife… I literally don’t understand
