I met my husband in middle school…. in the year 2000😮. I said that to say this, prayer is e-v-e-r-y-thing! I genuinely prayed to Yah and asked Him for “someone for me” and He came through. I understand this may not be the norm but especially in this day and age, you need Him to guide you in every aspect of your life. Don’t rely on your own understanding ask The Heavenly Father to give you what your looking for if it’s His will.

I'm a black Christian man and I met my wife at JFK airport in Apr 2017. We were co-workers. Probably 3 to 6 months before that, I had an opportunity to relocate to FL for a job, but I wasn't sure. I prayed to God in my friend's bathroom and I ended up staying in NY and I got the job at JFK. I noticed my wife was a hard worker, helpful, and reasonable. She's not perfect, but she had 80% of what I needed in a woman while not having the 20% that I wanted. We're currently married 2yrs with a 15 month old son. I've come to understand a successful relationship needs a BALANCE of romance & duty on BOTH SIDES! Hope this is encouraging 🙏🏿
I’m 27 and met my husband in high school. We just got married a little over a year ago and we did not date the entire time. Though many people discourage their kids from dating young, I believe in my case it made me more street smart in the dating game. I am passionate about young singles in the dating scene because I recently was in their shoes. Ik the pain/confusion/frustration of doing the work and still not finding that person. As Glen said, sometimes it is simply a season. Sometimes God is working on your spouse, not you. Sometimes, as I learned in my case, God wants you to make dating mistakes outside of marriage. Sometimes God is using the season so that when you are married you know what’s out there and when struggles come in the marriage you stay COMMITTED. It is not always a you thing. Keep working on you, chasing your calling, and being intentional and open minded as you get to know more people. Hope it helps ❤

I faced this choice to some extent while dating. Mr complicated was conventionally good looking, funny and charming but it was clear he was just looking for a good time. Right after that I met Mr Intentional, traveled over an hour to meet me, was a gentlemen and sweet, a little more nerdy. I chose him and were married now.

Don't be afraid to go out by yourself. This can be big for meeting new friends and relationships. I met my husband at wholefoods. I'm a vegan and he is a fitness instructor so there are values that overlap, but it's not so structured. Also, my friend met her fiance online and wouldn't be hard press to meet people qith an agenda in mind and that helped take off the pressure. I know people who do attend neighboring churches and even travel solo withh the intention to be seen and be jolly and be open to meeting new people. ❤if you're heart is open and your mind is open 😊 you will be attractive and from there you can determine who to invite in.

Mr Complicated seems to be her name for him based on just her feelings because when he was intentional and spoke his feelings for her she made him a friend and now that the chase is over she may want that back. So he can be intentional but maybe he also wants directness and upfrontness from her. Both people have their drawbacks and their positives. That being said I would go with the person your heart smiles about and feels safe with even if you now need to say what you feel and where you are at.
The title defines me …. For those who know my heart I’m intentional , for those who don’t get it I’m complicated. I just don’t like surface level things especially with my close circle…
Don't complicate and overthink the first question. This is a young woman talking to guys for the first time. She's not saying yes to a marriage proposal. Talk to them both and develop a social relationship with the opposite sex to begin with. It's not even about choosing the perfect person right now. It's about learning what you truly want and how you deal with people.

I feel like I'm the only guy here but I met my lady in a dating app. After covid that was the only way to really find someone my age 🤷🏾♂️ how ever the fact that I had clubs (board game club) and groups that I would go to about 3 times a week did help when I finally met someone worth my effort.

My husband was initially Mr complicated due to a personal situation he was dealing with at home. His depth was definitely elsewhere. Mr complicated can have a lot going on personally and Mr intentional may be trying to get you for selfish reasons. Labeling them the way she did is also based on her feelings until she really gets to know both of them.
Dating post covid is a lot more transactional honestly. Before covid dating I found a lot of cool people but post covid I found a lot of people who are looking for a meal ticket

We met in church (2015, married 2021). Seventh Day Adventist Student Movement in university. I hear you on the "people in your church see you as a sister/brother" but in our case it helped that new students come in every year. That meant I didn't have to visit other churches to meet new people. My husband had come in to do his masters degree and I was 3rd year so our relationship was new and different from the brothers I had been worshiping with for the past years. All that to say, church is still a great place to find love.

Ok soo I just deleted the app because I haven’t been satisfied by the men. I met this one man who’s older than me I’m 24 he’s 31 ….yall im perplexed because it feel like ain’t nothing happening here…like it feels like boiled potatoes with no salt or pepper or butter. My husband and I are OPPOSITES 😂 he is a true introvert through and through but I am a social butterfly. I value the balance it brings though and we work really well because we didn’t try to change each other. My husband was also very upfront, intentional and didn’t play games. While we are different socially we both sought to honor God in our lives individually and I think that should be a nonnegotiable.
My knee jerk response to you is follow that discernment. If he seem like he playing games he probably is.

I met my husband in 2019 on a dating app. Y’all gave great advice to the second woman. She could definitely try apps, she’ll meet a wider variety of people that way, just don’t entertain the weirdos and tell a friend where you are/share your location. and people just don’t really meet in person that often anymore I think.
She sounds young and this is her first experience dating. She should just learn how to date. Sometimes we overthink things and put too much pressure and expectations on a relationship instead of just being present.

I’d say forget Mr. Complicated. He’s prob’ly just trying to get busy in the bedroom. He’ll chew up your heart and spit it back out. Mr. Intentional may play the sex game and do the whole long run thing on that or he could actually be what you say and there will be more depth with him. By him being intentional he’s letting you know he’s interested in something more and he’s doing it on purpose or with purpose. Mr. Complicated is only good looking basically and you gave him that name for a reason. Good looks fade with age and what’s left of the the person is what’s on the inside, if they’re nasty they’ll still be nasty and if they’re kind they’ll still be kind. And also if a man’s actions and his words align that is a much better, clearer sign of his intentions as opposed to if they don’t align. Nonalignment causes confusion and feelings to not be taken seriously and so much more. In the “long” run it will cause you detriment. Alignment of words and actions will provide clarity. You will know if the person is for you or against you. And they will show it in their actions and tell you in their words.
