There is no such thing as a broke husband... only a broke married couple. Marriage merges funds. It is refered to as household earnings, heads of household, etc. A broke husband is an ex husband
Your finances aren't merged unless you merge them.
Liability was a good word. Children are a blessing but also a liability.

The couple on the email is on great path. Their Hearts are both in the right place. Im in this position, my husband is getting his masters degree in a great field. Now, he still works and pays bills, but right now I am able to make more, I don’t mind contributing more because I know my husband is working hard to provide for us in a better capacity, I’m looking forward to only working part time when we have kids 😊. My advice for this young man is to try and treat his wife even if he can’t spend money. Offer her a back rub, cook her dinner. Make her feel appreciate and remind her that the roles will reverse. And like beleaf said, don’t be afraid to take breaks because you’re working hard as well. You and your wife are a team.
When you have children, his children all the money you're contributing to y'alls house should start being invested in you guys children. Do not let him make you feel like he is doing you a favor by paying bills he'd have either way. Lol unless he changes his mind about children cause girl he will be saving
Be sure to have that post-grad plan in writing or something (record the conversation... something!)
Also, it is almost 2024... Why does a man who's married need to be told to cook & serve? 🤨🤦🏽♀️
15:52 this is a good opportunity for him to push through and show his wife all tht his manhood has to offer . Finance is one aspect but there are endless ways for you to show up for your wife in your own manly way. Again, this is an opportunity for you to curate/show up/BE.. the best, greatest, provider (in other ways). Do ya thing keep ya head up and focused on who you are. Not sure though.. kinda lost it lol

I struggle with a lot of these concepts because all of this SOUNDS good but the bills is due now? 😂 I as a fiancée have always been ready to do whatever for mine - I can’t relate to the “Whatever he wants to do. When he desires…at his pace. His wife is probably fine.” Lol
Don’t believe in what he or she can do. Have faith and trust in what God has for you. Seek his wisdom for your life’s journey first.
Engineering can be really hard. Tutoring and joining campus clubs e.g. NSBE, IEEE, etc. helped tremendously. Networking with classmates and going to office hours to get a handle on the material goes far.
Anaya(spell check lol) is so cute. Thank you for the prayer Yvette. I've been praying for things I want for him or things i THINK he wants, I think a more effective prayer is for what is in his heart, what will make him excited for the day.
