Yvette, as a fellow homeschool mom of five years, I've been there. After a lot of prayer and ruminating, I decided to step out of the boat and walk by faith, and pulled my child out of the system. It was rough initially😮💨 constantly worrying about whether he was acclimating or if i was doing him more harm than good. We had our good and bad days, along with lots of tears and meltdowns. I had to give myself a lot of grace and took it one day at a time. We've grown a lot, this journey taught us a lot about patience, resilience, love, and integrity; along with the gift of being able to watch my son grow into a young man with purpose. I'm now a proud homeschool mom of a sophomore in high school as he looks forward to what lies ahead. Thank you for your vulnerability in giving the community insight to the homeschool culture. I know this journey can be overwhelming, but when I see your chocolate babies it is evident that you intentionally pour so much love and care into them. As a soldier in the battalion of moms, I salute you, and am proud to serve with you in this mission of family and love.❤

Yvette - I have graduated two homeschooled students and my youngest graduates this year. You are doing a fabulous job and God will give you the strength you need to be who your children need you to be. My oldest daughter is an educator and she is so grateful for her education at home. She graduated debt-free two years ago and actually met & talked to your brother Anthony when he spoke at her university (Trevecca, in Nashville). My son is a sophomore in college and earned a full-ride scholarship. He's studying graphic design and will spend a semester in Spain in the Spring. My youngest just decided to pursue her AFA in theater at a local community college (2 years free here in TN) next year. The time you spend with your children is precious. The "crazy" days and the "good" days work together to create memories and relationships that will last forever. After 18 years of homeschooling, I will retire this year - satisfied that God has and will work all things together for good. Bless you and your family.

I am crying while watching this video. Mom aka Mrs. Henry you are killing it as a mom, a teacher and an influencer. I'm not a mom but I am a Daycare Provider and I get so much encouragement from you and your endeavors. My daughter is almost 19, and from K-8, I homeschooled her. She wanted to go to a traditional school, and it made sense for us, but it was so very hard to let her fly. Her freshman year was the 2020-2021 school year, so guess who ended up being virtual until her sophomore year? 😔 I am very proud to say that during that time, she was still able to cope and thrive, which I believe was because of the strengths she developed being homeschooled.
She has had numerous people surprised to hear she was homeschooled because, as they say, "You are so smart!" That kills me because they are implying that parents are not capable of giving their beloved children knowledge and the necessary skills in life to succeed.
Without any doubt, your children are going to be able to succeed and excel in life because of this love for learning that you are pouring into them! Half of the journey of learning is wanting to learn, and the other half is having the right teacher. The sky is the limit because you are homeschooling. You are the perfect teacher for them! No one will love them more than you except God. Putting Him first in your teaching heart is why I know that they are in the best school ever. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have a 3 year old, 4 year old, and 2 month old. I have decided to homeschool my kids with more kick back from my family. I feel lost and defeated because I do not know if I am starting right. You give me hope. Remember not only homeschooling is for connection but for me is to make our babies feel confident with their own pace. Teaching us patience and teaching them self love with the help of religion. You are amazing! I am, by far not, prepared or have a real clue about this homeschooling and I am welcoming to any advice. This came on my feed when doubt entered my heart. Won't GOD do it! I am grateful for your truth. Looking at you I see structure compared to me looking like a chicken with her head cut off. Thank you Queen for your time and yes like your hubby said it definitely helped me seeing this. You are doing great and I will get to your level of structure with the help of the Heavenly father. You are doing a great job and you are one of the best teachers your children can have. As a person who was homeschooled all of my grade school life and who is currently a teacher, I can tell you that your babies will appreciate everything you are doing for them. I commend you on your efforts because I know it’s not easy but it is doable.
My parents decided that they would homeschool all 12 of my siblings and myself when it was not as prevalent or popular back in late 70s/early 80s. Their decision was based on how they perceived my older siblings were being educated in the public school system. My mom was our primary teacher and she made it her mission to ensure that we were all properly educated through any means necessary. There weren’t as many resources as there are now so she would buy discarded textbooks so that we would have something. She also created worksheets and activities for us to complete. My mom did a lot to make sure we had a strong foundation especially in the primary grade age ranges so by the time we were middle and high school age, we were self motivated to learn and do our work.It can definitely be rewarding experience.

You know I’m well pleased with you and Yvette, and dare I stretch it to include the kids for extending grace on the first day of school? The come-up is REAL. Like all new endeavors, even the best of well-planned actions could still leave a few blind spots. Yvette, you’re doing an amazing job for the kids and your family as a whole. Our kids need to see more resemblances of us in the education arena. I wish more parents of ethnicity would follow suit. We could all benefit from the diversity. This is eye-opening, and it’s God's reassurance that I too was heading in the right direction when I suggested homeschooling as an option to my husband for our kids when the pandemic started. I wanted them to learn and be enthusiastic about acquiring knowledge, but in a safe and controlled environment. I also believe it gives us insight into our children's day-to-day lives and general encounters. Parents proclaim they want closeness, their children’s openness, and vulnerability, but refuse to engage in activities such as these, which would naturally yield just that. You, my lady, are a queen, and you have the support of the most high king. Introducing biblical principles alongside education teaches them discipline, self-love, selflessness, integrity, and the importance of submission to authority, law, and statutes, as the Holy Bible is full of likewise stories of various characters. Today the lesson may have been easy because you weren't as readily available to keep pace with assignments, but once you develop a routine, as you’ve already acknowledged, everyone thrives off of structure. You’ll show up eagerly prepared, and flying through lessons will present a more steady pace for everyone. I’m confident that you and the family will master homeschooling as time passes. Remember to provide an occasional update for those moms or dads considering the possibilities and for some who have already saddled up for the journey. Until next time,

Yvette you are phenomenal, you just don't realized that you are gifted because it all comes so natural to you. Remember the first day of any task is rarely perfect. Relax you got this.
I literally cried; the Flowers, and encouragement extended to others to also support his wife (cuz gawd knows sumtimes ... for sum reason, it's difficult for us to receive accolades from those we might feel like are only saying gentler things, cuz they're being kind and supportive like theri 'supposed to' B... sumtimes we do absolutely also need outside encouragement in order to remember to honor ourselves.

You are so inspiring. It's so lovely to see parents involved in their children's lives. I wish I would've done home sch ooling, for the connection like you said. It would've been so great. My boys are 21 & 22 now.
I’m 47 & was homeschooled during my 2nd yr of high school until graduation, along with 5 more of my siblings.
As my husband and I now have 4 children of our own, our older two attended ranked public schools & are now adults & we have 2 younger children who are 10 & 7 & they are homeschooled. We refused to allow the boys to be taught this crazy ideology they now engrave in curriculums. We also had to include GOD in their studies, as this is very important being Christian’s. I totally enjoy the growth that I see implemented from myself & the time being spent with them is amazingly valuable. I’m proud to say that I am their teacher & with that being said…Continue doing what you do, mom. It’s challenging, yet rewarding! ♥️💯👏🏽

Sis Yvette, you, the Lord and your husband have got this. I've been on the homeschool journey for 14 years and counting. The feelings that you shared are spot on. Some days you feel like you are winning and ahead of the game, and some days you can only hang your head and hope that the kids will be able to make something of themselves despite having been home schooled 😆. The fact of the matter is, home schooling your children is humbling and empowerig, hard and simple. It's wonderful and can be sometime aggravating. It just depends on the day or the moment that you're looking at it.
Your children are the winners because they have won your time and your affections and your care and your love. You are ahead because you surrendered to making loving sacrifice the rule of your life. As you may have recognized, our young ones grow fast on us. We are charged to bless them with our careful loving presence and in return we are blessed to have had the privilege of accompanying them in their most tender fragile phases of life. We get to have them grow in our hearts. With the love and wisdom of God, we get to guide them to prepare for success in this life and everlasting joy in the world to come. Welcome back to the highest position given to humankind ultimately, raising citizens for fellowship with angels and the Most High.🕊

I’m not a parent yet, but this brought great encouragement to me personally to consider homeschooling. It’s either that or a private Christian school . I believe that as a fellow Christian believer, gave my life to Christ in 2018, we are suppose to be so close to our children now more than ever, seeing how wicked this world is getting. It’s better for you to be teaching them because if not the world is going to. So you’re doing an amazing job, give yourself grace every single day and i pray the Lord brings strength peace joy and wisdom throughout this journey. LITERALLY IN TEARS! I can do relate to everything! U have inspired me to come on camera and speak about this as well! Wowwww🥹❤️! I appreciated what was said about being on your purpose and reflecting about where you started and where you are now! That was us! As a former teacher but out the game for years ne homeschooling our children, I too thought initially that our children would be on the same school district I taught in. But GOD!!! There’s too much to type and I’m crying bc God is is good and will give us the desires of our heart once we submits to Him and will lead and guide us in what to do, how to move, what to say and how to teach. I have felt like you many times defeated, but my husband and Christ would tell me, just breath and take your time. That’s your gift. Don’t get lost on the routine, where your missing the moments. I think it’s honestly bc of our background in being in school and then teaching in schools. We are used to order and homeschooling and seem like organized chaos at times.
