If the Lord does give me the gift of motherhood, I will definitely try to handle things in the fashion you do. Not only do you two find the value in every situation and use it as a lesson in life for them . Not strictly disapline but their lil behinds are learning 🤏 some life today. So glad you took the time and patience to explain to them why lying is not good rather than beat them like some parents would’ve sadly done. Raibo accepted money to keep himself hush. He saw it as nothing but now he understands that this can have great consequences and put an unwanted weight on his shoulders. Theo was tested at school and he failed but next time he’ll do better! They are humans like us and are learning from their mistakes. You did not do a bad job raising them just because they lied. So don’t be discouraged. You did great correcting them. They got tempted like we all do and didn’t think of their core values before choosing to do the wrong things. This is why God teaches us the Ten Commandments so we can remember the core values. Keep teaching them and living as an example! ❤️The fact that you found out from adults complimenting Theo was just an excellent example to them that the truth will always come out and a lie is like a naked person on the streets trying to hide their shame. It doesn’t last, someone will see! It’s true that this could get bigger and a bribe can turn into covering up bad things when they get offered it when they’re older by school friends and they need to learn to say no to benefits. So glad they’re learning it now, delayed gratification is not punishment, accepting reality for safety is wise. Theo is still a small boy, it’s hard to control his desire to play ! They are learning to hold their parents counsel in their hearts.

Yea I had to search it up, apparently it’s a gentler version of dodge ball. (Idk how it works tho) 😂
I’m 19 and I grew up with it, I also work with kids and have to occasionally referee Gaga ball cause kids get super competitive about it.
Basically there is an octagon shaped fort/ field with walls that are about 3 feet tall. Kids go inside the little field, and there is a ball/s inside. They can’t pick it up or throw it. They smack the ball across the ground at each other trying to hit people’s legs with the ball. If you get hit with the ball you are out. If you hit the ball out of the octagon, you’re out. There are no teams, it’s Everyman for themselves. Typically the ball has to hit the person below the hips or knees, when I’m refereeing if the ball hits a kid above the waist the person who smacked the ball at them is out (I do this for safety, with this rule the kids don’t hit the ball as hard) The rules vary by region and gym teacher/ recess monitor.
It’s a safer alternative to dodge ball, but I have still seen kids hit each other in the face with the ball while playing it. Kids take Gaga ball very seriously, its essentially the Olympics to 9 year olds.
I appreciate what you told them what you needed from THEM to move forward! I don’t have kids but I definitely appreciate how you discipline your children & I would love to use it when the time is right!

Wow! This was so convicting. As a believer being brought up in some error, I realize that when I mess up, I approach God with a way to try to bribe or make up for what happened. I end up trying to work back into His love instead of just apologizing, which I think comes from a lack of believing that I am actually forgiven. Maybe I could just have a hard time conceptualizing the love of God all together. Either way, I appreciate the post. Be blessed!

I'm so confused. I'm European, almost 30, and I remember we had 2 to 3 breaks that lasted 15-20 minutes plus the 1 hour lunch break. How long is the recess?

This is such a great analogy to our relationship with our Heavenly Father. 1. He knows all yet we - or I - often try to convince Him the intent of my heart was purer than it is. 2. Salvation and restoration of fellowship is more simple than we make it out to be. Simply say I'm sorry. You can't work your way into fellowship with Him. It's simply confessing our sins (repent) and He is faithful and just to forgive us. Periodt.
