My daughter's Jeep Liberty would not start. The engine cranks but won't turn over and run. If your engine is not starting follow this troubleshooting process and you'll identify if it's a bad fuel pump, a clogged fuel filter...

    Good Explanation, I have no Tick, But I replaced the Oil Cooler Filter Housing with the Aluminum one only because I had a Bad oil pressure sensor.While everything was apart I changed the plugs and coils since I had 140K on them. I also added a Baxter oil filter adapter to run a spin on filter, this keeps oil in the filter, the stock cartridge one drains back within 20-30 minutes and you get the dry start rattling which may cause premature rocker failure. On my 2015 Grand Cherokee if you use the Mobil 1 M1-212A filter it clears the Engine Cover and has the correct flow and bypass PSI required for this engine. Definitely a good upgrade if you’re keeping your Vehicle for a long time and Can’t afford 60-80k for a new one.

    Great info on this issue. I just recently noticed the tick on my 2014 GC. I'm assuming that since it's apart, the valve cover and intake manifold gaskets should be replaced? Thanks.

    • @Moretimethanmoney
      @Moretimethanmoney Před měsícem

      Yes. Since you're taking it apart it's a good idea to replace the gaskets. I actually didn't and I've been chasing oil leaks and having to go in and replace the gaskets. Wish I had done it when I had everything taken apart the first time.

    I think my 18 takes a E20 External Star, and 11 MM Hex to remove the caliper and bracket. Also pretty sure you do not need that o-ring. The lugs once tightened hold the rotor on, not a little piece of rubber, lol. Thats usually used on the assembly line to hold on the rotor as it goes down the line.

It got bad to where I was stalling for a little. I had a mobile mechanic tow it from home to look at it he was the only one to find it after 3 years. He worked on mopar alot. the new housing unit FULL ALU and an engine flush with oil change cleared my baby right up.

    • @Moretimethanmoney

      Sounds like you're on the right track. I don't think it's the thermostat. A bad thermostat fails open and the temp is consistently off. Might be the engine temperature sensor.

    • @Moretimethanmoney
      @Moretimethanmoney Před 6 měsíci

      If you got the ransoto it should have come with a plastic cap. If the cooler didn't come with a cap, I'm not sure what the advantage of a aluminum cap would be? The cap just sits on top and keeps the oil inside. An all aluminum cooler and cap would look cool if you can find one.

    Is this a WK2? It’s not an 11mm allen socket - it’s a 7mm, which I fortunately already had in my box. I bought an 11mm allen after watching this video and wasted $7. Also the torque for the caliper bracket is actually 89 ft pounds, 20 ft pounds for the slider pins. Maybe it’s different for the rear.

    • @wwcranker

    • @Moretimethanmoney
      @Moretimethanmoney Před 9 měsíci

      There's a debate on whether bedding brake pads is necessary. It's probably a good idea to do it. I have another video where I replaced the pads and rotors and I did it for that one. Since these are existing rotors I didn't do it. My thinking is that since they're existing rotors they already have a good layer from the previous pads on them. For new rotors I do it to create that smooth layer of pad material on the rotors.

    3.6. Yep. We jeepers know. The lifter will tap if you park on a slop greater than 3 degrees. One side of the engine will not get oil. So it sounds like its low on oil. Never idle a 3.6. NEVER IDLE A 3.6. YOU DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT. 2k rpm all the time on any 3 degree incline or decline.

    Couple things. 1, There are absolutely 0 bolts/nuts/etc on that car that are standard. Everything is metric, use metric sockets. 2, NEVER push directely on a caliper piston with anything. Use an old pad to compress the pistons with your desired tool.

I had the issue on the other side so was a bit easier for me as I didn't have to fiddle with that pcv valve. After a few hours of cursing and some sunburn I managed to get it all fixed! Had a small issue afterwards as I didn't realise the white gasket had fallen out behind the thottle body but all fixed now and purring like a kitten! If you ever holiday in Australia ill have to buy you a few beers! Cheers!

      Check the other end of the wire, that is your ignition coil, usually they are labeled on the pipes the wires connect to. Mine is something like 1432. Wires may be labeled or worst case you should be able to google a wire map for your year/make/model online especially if is a few years old or more.
