      That sucks. Maybe the problem isn't the oil cooler. Sounds like you've got a gasket or intake leaking somewhere else. Can you post a picture or a video? Maybe someone watching this has had a similar problem and can help out.

    I see that on the install video the oil filter Cap is plastic, should I get a plastic one or just go full aluminum?

    • @Moretimethanmoney
      @Moretimethanmoney  Před 6 měsíci

      If you got the ransoto it should have come with a plastic cap. If the cooler didn't come with a cap, I'm not sure what the advantage of a aluminum cap would be? The cap just sits on top and keeps the oil inside. An all aluminum cooler and cap would look cool if you can find one.

    I installed one on my WK2 recently. How is it holding up after a year in the jeep?

    • @Moretimethanmoney
      @Moretimethanmoney  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Had it in for a year, no more oil leaks, done an oil change and filter change. It's working perfect because I haven't had to think about it since I installed it.

      Year and half later, no leaks. Holding up good. Got some other oil leaks, but not the oil cooler yet.

    Hi... So far... Haven't you had any issue with the new oil cooler?
    And the sensors, did they work well?
    I bought this oil cooler after watching your video. At the moment, I'm waiting for it to arrive here in Brazil

      Glad you found the video helpful! If you haven't seen it yet, I've got a step by step instruction video of how to install it. Hopefully that will be helpful too. You can find it by going to my CZcams channel and looking at the videos I've posted.
      Come back and comment on how your install goes. I've had it installed for over a month now and no problems so far. All the sensors work. Good luck on your repair! Can't wait to hear how it goes!

      @@Moretimethanmoney Hi!!!!
      Sorry for the delay in responding. My oil cooler arrived two weeks ago.
      Yes, I've seen your other video. It was really, really helpful!!!! Thanks a lot.
      I've installed my oil cooler and so far so good.

    Not all that helpful other than it looks like it comes complete and does not require parts switch over and new sensors.

      I'm posting another video where I show how to install it. This video is really only to show what you get with it. I'll probably create another one in a few months showing how it's performed. So far, it's performed great.

    you get what you pay for. Buy American made. Chinese production is inferior to American made, hence the price difference.

    • @Moretimethanmoney
      @Moretimethanmoney  Před rokem

      Not going to argue with you. But sometimes you got to get what you can afford. Might not seem like a big difference to some people, but to other people it's the difference between being able to afford to do it and not. So I put both out there as options. I went cheap, so far, so good.

      @dw89b Před rokem

      So tell me where I can get this American made, out of metal. I can't find one anywhere. Gotta confess, I haven't called any junkyards yet.

      @@Moretimethanmoney Did you use the supplied sensors and gaskets with your Ransoto? I ordered a Dorman oil pressure sensor because of the reported failure rate of OEM sensors, and plan to reuse the temperature sensor. Also replacing the supplied o-rings and gaskets with Fel-Pro, made in the US.

    • @Moretimethanmoney
      @Moretimethanmoney  Před rokem

      Yes I used the supplied gasket and sensors. It comes already attached so installing it was plug and play.

      Also here's a great unboxing and review of the Dorman. He also talks about the two styles of oil coolers at the end of his video. czcams.com/video/sAo99Md85hE/video.html
