  • Another video of what the drive was like back from Mt. Hood during the snow storm. Went winter car camping up on Mt Hood at Mt. Hood Meadows at the Bennette Pass Sno Park. I did some night time snowboarding, which was great, and it was snowing while I was snowboarding. Woke up the next morning and it dumped about 30 inches of snow. I was going to snowboard the next day, but decided to bail. After helping out another camper who spent the night in their Subaru, but couldn't get out of the Snow Park, I headed down Highway 35 to Highway 26 back towards Portland. I'm so glad I did. The highway patrol ended up closing Highway 26, Highway 35, and Interstate 84 because of the snow. My WK2 did great in the snow, no slipping or sliding and was able to use my shovel, traction boards, and toe strap to get another fellow traveller un-stuck. The trip got cut short, but overall a great adventure!

How did the Rugged Trek do in snow? I live up in the mountains and I was looking at them as an option

Did great. It was pretty bad snow conditions. They ended up closing highway 26, highway 30, and interstate 84. I was able to drive down off the mountain with no problems and didn't need to chain up.
