Great video. As someone who's been struggling with the job market I've been looking for some solid advice on alternative income streams. The idea of going freelance is kind of intimidating for a newcomer but this has given me a few ideas for new approaches to try. There are a couple of topics I'd be interested in hearing about your opinions on. Firstly, I've heard it said that as a freelancer you should stick to a single field or niche on platforms like Upwork and Fiver. Would you say this is true? I have experience in programming and video editing that I would be interested in taking into the freelancing market. Am I better off sticking to one? Secondly, what's your advice on promotion and reaching different markets? Especially for things like selling digital products.

This is a great reminder that Upwork isn't easy, but it can be worth the hustle. Gotta build a portfolio, be patient, and remember that one client can change everything!

I'm getting some jobs emailed through that don't match the criteria I set, any ideas? To give context, in my search filter I set an hourly rate of $40 or above, as well as fixed price of $100 or above, but am getting some jobs through for fixed prices under $100 🤔 Still getting some great jobs sent through so isn't the end of the world and it's still 10x better than manually looking, but if someone could advise how to fix this I'd be eternally grateful, as it would free up a lot of time filtering through un-targeted emails 😃

FYI: You can no longer click the three dots (...) on the main job search page to access your RSS feed. You now need to select the hyperlink for your saved search (this shows you the saved search with your filters), then select the RSS feed icon which is close to the sort by drop down.

Glad I saw this video! The good news its its great advise for any occupation! The bad news is that I'm the competition, although that could also be though of as one of your a sub-contractors! Thanks for the info! The part about having a sole income source is why I'm here!

The clients who did this bad review seems like a repetitive Story that happened with other freelancers. I think this behavior is deliberate and it entails getting free work from the freelancer to be reused and then the client shuts up the project with a bad review. I guess this is repeated behavior and upwork should notice such trend and dismiss those toxic clients
