I always find it interesting to see how different services work best as hourly - I myself worked hourly for a LONG time, now I'm only doing fixed price and also experimenting with the project catalog. So far all inquiries I've had there wanted something other than the project states, but still within the same industry.

@@spreadingpositivity3803 I do full-stack web development in MERN technologies. I've been freelancing for about 6 months and with 2 years of experience. I make about 2k a month but that's not standard of course as I am in my early stages and it takes time to find long-term clients. My advice is to make an account on freelancing websites asap and start bidding on projects. It might take time for that first client but afterward having that feedback on your reviews it's really easy to get accepted on your future bids.
Highly recommend to watch all of his videos from his playlist on upwork for beginners.💎💎💎💎⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡ I got my 1st job on upwork by applying those tips.

I'm a financially distressed father of 5, going through strong difficulty to feed and sustain the home, I have good tying skill, could edit MS-word, PowerPoint very vell. I have handled over 100 students project from 1st to 3rd degree level.

Hey! The membership really comes down to how much time and help that you need. The beginner tier is a monthly 10-15 minute call. I would recommend starting there and if you need more help, you can always switch tiers the following month.
These seems very insightfull, I was looking at beginning as a freelance software developer. My only concern is how much of a difference is that US only filter. I'm not from the US, so I wonder if Upwork is more targeted for US freelancers. Would there be any suggestions for any alternative platforms if Upwork is biased towards US developers?
Lol no, created fake us profile and saw very bad jobs, requesting to meet etc... Filter doesn't mean anything , only it means when you apply you are from usa flag they can see

It's against TOS. I would recommend adding 3-5 portfolio items (high quality) on your profile. If you want to take it a step further, you can build a portfolio web page that doesn't have contact details on it. support.upwork.com/hc/en-us/articles/211062618-Upwork-Terms-of-Service
