0:00 - Upwork and SQL Server Introduction
I went from barely scraping by paycheck to paycheck, to making over $650,000 on Upwork in just 5 years. ►www.upwork.com/fl/joshuaburns
Freelancing on Upwork has improved my life in a lot more ways than just financially. My SQL skill set has evolved at an insane pace because I've had the opportunity to work on so many different SQL projects in numerous industries as well.
I have so much more knowledge and technical ability in SQL because of Upwork and freelancing.
2:08 - EXCLUSIVE Patreon is Open!
This is one of the easiest ways to get more access to me and join a great community of like-minded individuals.
2:47 - Why I Started Freelancing on Upwork
After college in my first job as a SQL database administrator and SQL developer, I realized that I was solely relying on the business to increase my pay.
I knew that if I really wanted to increase my income, then I needed to add additional income sources. So, I researched freelance websites, found Upwork and decided to create an Upwork profile specializing in SQL DBA, SQL Development, and Business Intelligence work.
6:06 - High Paying Freelance Skills
The truth is, if you want to make life-changing money freelancing then you need skills that pay well and have demand on sites like Upwork.
Upwork Tip! Research high-paying skills and then take online courses to determine if you enjoy the skill. The fact that I love working with SQL and databases is a huge reason why I earn over $10,000 a month freelancing.
7:20 - How to Start Learning (Sponsor: Skillshare)
The best investment that you can ever make in your entire life, is in yourself. Skillshare is one of my favorite places to learn freelance skills like SQL.
Thank you so much Skillshare, for supporting the channel!
9:01 - How I Landed My First Upwork Client
First I created an attractive Upwork profile focused on the client and how my skills will benefit them.
Upwork Tip! Find the most successful freelancers who have the same skill set as you and use their profiles as inspiration when creating yours.
In your Upwork cover letter be sure to ask the client to schedule a quick 10-15 minute introduction call with you.
    12:06 - Top Reason I'm Earning 10k per Month
Most of my clients do not have any internal employees with SQL Server experience. Because of this, I am their go-to SQL resource which leads to long-term work.
How to get long-term clients on Upwork? My main tip for you is to overdeliver and genuinely focus on helping the client succeed.
    13:54 - My LARGEST Upwork Contracts $$$
    16:33 - START NOW!
17:44 - My BEST Advice for You!
