I knew that if I really wanted to increase my income, then I needed to add additional income sources. So, I researched freelance websites, found Upwork and decided to create an Upwork profile specializing in SQL DBA, SQL Development, and Business Intelligence work.

I'm a new freelancer on Upwork and I've tried to optimize my profile as well, In few weeks I've gotten the rising talent badge, however, I haven't been able to get any jobs 😔. Both have demand, so it depends on which you would rather learn. The first company that I worked for after college used SQL Server, so that’s why I chose it.

I had a full-time job after college and freelanced on the side. Of course, I still have student loan debt although it's been paused by the gov since the pandemic started. LOL

I'm still grinding on Upwork to develop my rep but I am very grateful that I am not just sitting in my room depressed about my future because I can't find a job locally

It really depends on your skill set and current abilities. I would recommend exploring freelance jobs on Upwork, read through the job descriptions, and determine if you have the skills to complete them.
