Dude "Dream come true". You never hear a western girl saying that about their husband/boyfriend. You are a chill, good-looking guy and you deserve each other.
Did you really say the Midwest and Salt Lake City in the same sentence?
Crazy world isn’t it
I agree about the Typhoons, the problem is they aren't always predicted well. Odette was supposed to be a tropical storm that would hit Cebu, then 1 dar later it was a Cat 1, and then 1 more day and it was a Super typhoon, which hit where I live in Talisay head on. Did ALOT of damage. So predicted to be a tropical storm but was actually a Super typhoon. Anyway, historically Cebu gets less typhoons than Manila or Mindanao.
Agree, have to keep our eyes peeled to the East and judge for ourselves based on Odette.
Thanks Chris. You have a great girlfriend. Its hard to find one that is financially independent like her. Im guessing she is paid as an intern.
Yeah she's pretty spectacular. The internship is not paid unfortunately
Great video. Looks like a lot of fun. BTW...I joined your facebook group and will be arriving in Cebu around the end of August.
Welcome aboard!
Chris...question for you...I see that you workout. Is there a good gym in the Cebu area that you could recommend. Thanx.
Very good representation and clarifications on subjects. Well done mate
Thank you John
You described everything to a tee on how I feel about living in the U.S. and I am currently looking to retire to either Thailand or The Philippines. The Thai tax laws have me freaked out and now leaning more towards PI. Thanks for the video.
You are welcome. Thanks for watching
Hey Chris! The International License is actually a good idea as it is valid for one year from the date of purchase and it is like $25.00 USD at AAA. It beats a 90 timeframe and gives you extra time to get that Philippine license.
That’s a really good point. I’ll remember that. Thank you.
As far as I know, there is one thing to be aware of - your International Licence is not a standalone document, but is valid in connection with your US, or where ever you are from, licence. If your US licence expires next week, for example, your IL is invalid as well...
Nice intro with the drone shot. What island was that? The water looked great for swimming. Always love getting distracted by my nekkid Filipina...always look...lol Thanks for the live, Chris...Jim
Yes. So beautiful. That island is Bantayan island
I’d definitely go with a smaller bike. The last time I drove that slow was on the Island of Malta.
Absolutely. Smaller bike is the way to go.
I’d be afraid to be on that island during a typhoon.
Yeah. I wouldn’t wanna be on that island during a big storm. You’re only a couple feet above sea level.
I thought you couldn’t own land there?
You can’t own land, but you can lease it.
@@CarefreeChris if you lease it, can you build? Also read that if you own a company or something like that you can put under that name and own it. Something like that.
@@JG-mg3if yeah so that’s what you do. You get 25 year leases and build whatever you want on the land.
@@JG-mg3if you want to get attorneys involved to make sure it’s all done legally but that’s how you can get your home
@@CarefreeChris thanks mate for taking the time to reply and info.
From the land of the uptight to the land of smiles! Glad you could get out of the toxic world we lived in.
So crazy there isn’t it. Hope you’re surviving it.
I am a half-pinoy, half-american and I can say that America is going downhill. Not so far from becoming a third-world country with all the hate culture going on.
It’s really sad. Glad to be away from it honestly. I hope you’re OK there.
Wow...I am going to do the exact same thing. I've been looking at retiring early for a year or so. My good buddy has been coming to the PI for a couple of years now and loves it. I am taking the "leap of faith" and giving it a shot in 7 weeks from now. The crazy part is I'm starting off at the IT park also. I hope to meet some people from your group. Chris....love your channel and keep up the great content!!!
See you soon:)
Thanks for watching
great town wth Kalangaman right there. You need to learn to pronounce the names of towns.
I'll make you a deal. I'll learn how to pronounce them when you learn how to spell them. Neither are easy. 🤪 Kalanggaman Island
nice Chris you have find your happy place riding and exploring the best of both freedom and scenery , safe riding Amping ✌✌
You got that right!
Great ride!!!
It was! Glad you were able to come:)
Fantastic views of this ride and looking forward to seeing the tour of Bantayan Island. It looks like your camera is that 360 camera with the hidden selfie stick--I think that's where the "wobble" is coming from due to it being at the end of that long stick. Can you rotate the views while riding (maybe with a remote) or are you doing those in post-edit? Also, how are you getting to include the front view looking at you head on? Is that with another camera?
Yes. Love Bantayan and have been there many times now.
Two cameras:)
Cool video but me thinks a Ceres bus ride to the port would be much more relaxing.
lol that’s an option for sure
Gorgeous scenery! Chris, you are still the talk of our little town after last week's video at one of our local restaurants. The owner of the restaurant and his wife are thinking of going to the Philippines with us because of your video. Looking forward to more great videos! Ingat
Should I have them join a live stream sometime where they can ask questions.
Maybe we could do a live stream from the restaurant :-)
@@CarefreeChris How do you get the bed into the restaurant? 🤣😂
@@CarefreeChris I will ask them. They already have plans this week for 4th of July but let me see what they say about doing a live stream from the restaurant! Great idea! 👍
A little bit longer is the correct way to go on a bike. 😊
Definitely!
Nice ride and thanks for the video. Am sure you noticed the slope numbers were jumping so much, probably due to the camera bouncing so much. You don't notice it in the video since the image stabilization is working so well. On the real steep descent it was bouncing between 32 and 11 percent (@ 10:49), so it was probably at least a 20 percent grade. Not real sure thats just a guess. Nice video images though, especially 6:27, 8:46. Looks like some rain at 9:21 also. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to check out that highway. Would really like to find some farmland up there in the mountains with some good neighbors. Have a good one, Mary Rose and Chris...Jim
I did notice the numbers, jumping around quite a bit. The receivers are actually mounted on my handlebar. Maybe I’ll try on my wrist.
god one again 👌
Thank you Morten:)
Blessed morning my friend & to ur gf safe driving enjoy may God bless u every where u go....
Thank you! You too!
Woohoo! I LOVE visiting Bantayan! My parents were born there! awesome! I need to make another trip there to fly my drone around the island!
You should!
I love Bantayan Island too. Next video will be from there
Nice scenery, are you using 2 insta 360's on your bike. Keep the videos coming!!!
Yes I am! Thank you:))
ah-ha--so that's how he did it--I was wondering about that but thought the front camera might be his cell phone camera.
Looks fun !
It was a blast:)
Water and the windchill factor gets cold. Been there coming back from Apo island.
Absolutely. Nice. Hope you make it back soon:)
Chris it’ll be the middle of next year 🤨

Yeah Criss im going too Davao city in 2025. 😊
Nice. Would love to get to Davao City. Soon hopefully
Yeah, I can’t wait to get back over there and get me a scooter do some island hopping ferry to ferry Island Island.
Yes! It’s a blast
That hotel looks nice.
Great value for being so close to the beach. The Alona Beach area can be costly.
Such a great trip. Thanks for setting up everything. Great job putting together a great adventure.
You bet! I had a blast too:)
Was this your first time in the Philippines?
Yeah, exactly. That was actually my scouting trip.
@@CarefreeChris yeah. You looked younger. Hahahaha. So, my next video I will upload is the one the day I met you. I will be promoting your channel of course.
You don't strike me as someone who could excell in IT. You don't seem intellectual at all. I was a software engineer.
Yeah, I was more support role. I went to the Infrastructure side and really struggled with the lack of contact with people. I am not the typical IT person but made a career out of it for over 20 years.
Were you drinking too much? A little in moderation is ok.
Yes, absolutely
Where are the best and prettiest girls in the Phillipines?
They’re pretty girls everywhere, but the provinces are better places to find a wife or a girlfriend
What city are you guys in?
In Cebu City
You are becoming Philippino kayo 😂
Yes. I'm really loving it here

SNAKES 🐍 🤯
Yes! Love them:)
Thanks for sharing. I think the ₱1000 ($16.97) van ride for six people with a stop at Mang Inasal is already a good deal. Haggling it down to ₱900 ($15.27) to save ₱100 ($1.70) is negligible. That amounts to savings of only ₱16.67 ($0.28) per person. That's in an aircon van instead of on a trike. I don't get it. $1.70 ($0.28 per person) is very insignificant for westerners but very valuable for the locals who are working hard to eke out a living.
I understand. I flip back and fourth. Some folks argue we need to stop overpaying and don't settle for the skin tax. The same ride back was less than 800 Pesos for reference. My stance is if I know how much something costs I'm going to pay that amount. For example I'm not going to pay 1 dollar for water when I know it costs $.50 a block away. I'll walk a block or go without. I see both sides of the argument but lean towards rejecting the skin tax
@@CarefreeChris So how much did you end up paying and what type of vehicle was it that eventually transported the group to the hotel with the same stop at Mang Inasal? The point is that you were willing to pay ₱900 total for six people in a van that would have saved each one a mere $0.28. Was it really worth it to haggle for such a miniscule amount just so you folks could feel good about being able to neutralize the perceived "skin tax?" If you folks are so paranoid about it, then why even live there to begin with?
Just beautiful, good times, good friends...
You got that right!
