The riding is exceptional since they improved the highway, it was unreal during pandemic when there were no vans on the road. Most of the GPS coordinates from this video appear to be in Leyte, the Biliran bridge is 11.45 degrees north.
The GPS coordinates I believe are probably on the road going north from Polompon and crossing over to Calubian north of the Calaguise bridge and on to Leyte, Lemon, Biliran road. Biliran is its own province and no longer part of Leyte since 1992. My wife went to Naval State to be a teacher, she just wanted me to let you know that. Biliran is interesting place, many of the people have never left and speak a different dialect than a neighboring barangy a kilometer away.
Yeah. I rode through the middle of the island and then around North back to Naval.

HI Chris I heard you mentioned you will be driving down the other way from Ormoc to Baybay pretty soon, my hometown where I grew up till I graduated high school. I was there last year after so many, many years attending our class reunion at VSU. I myself was in awe looking at those beautiful mountains as we drove down the road from Ormoc. Unfortunately I don't have a better camera to produce a more panoramic shot of those mountains. I'm sure I'd be so thrilled to watch your own footage of those mountains. I was thinking for a while about bringing my Honda Goldwing with trailer to PI but making it happen is a pipe dream. With the trailer you can bring everything you need. Hopping from island to island but getting the bike up on the ferry could be adventure onto itself.

The reason the other vlogs don't discuss the motorcycle riding is that most can't ride and didn't ride in the US. For them, a motorcycle is just a bicycle with an engine. I am coming to Bilirun in May and have been planning a motorcycle trip/ride down to Davao and then Zamboanga, then ferry to Dumageti and then ferry back to Cebu.
Any suggestions for a rental shop? I fly into Cebu May 15. I'm staying there for 4 days to get ready for the trip, then take the ferry to Palompon. From there everything is open to suggestions as I'll have 3 weeks to ride and explore with my Filipina gf. The only part I'm missing right now is finding the motorcycle rental.
Since you're going to be in Cebu, a guy named Derek (aka Q Adventures channel) rents bikes (motorcycles or scooters) in Lapu Lapu. Scot (aka Regular Guy channel) talks about this. Advantage is that Derek maintains his bikes and allows it to be taken outside of Cebu City region.
Disadvantage is that Derek does charge a higher rental for his bikes but you have peace of mind that they are better maintained and can take them throughout the PH.
It’s really incredible riding there, man. You’ll love it.

I’m perplexed by your on camera MPH reading vs how fast you visually seem to be going. For example if your speedometer says 30mph, it looks like you’re going 50mph. Thoughts?
The speed is accurate actually. I hardly get above 30-40 miles an hour.

@@CarefreeChris One option find someone and give him 2K peso to get you inshore 1-2 miles to fishing spots. I'm not sure if you have equipment for boat or second option costal casting you'll may need squid live bait or calamari or any mullets not more than 6 inches. Early mornings till 11.00 am or evenings before sunset till 1-2 am. Circle hooks at least 3/0 and above with off set . Gamakatsu hooks or mustad hooks. As well as bring a small fridge 30kg with ice or any kind of fishing net to preserve + a bucket for the bait. Easy set up with two telescoping roads 2,5meters and above and one spinning rod 2meter is enuf
If you check Briggsy Sport Fishing channel he is casting and camping as well in rocky beaches. As well you can buy some 20-40 gr jigs artificial aluminium cover with 👁️ and some phosphorescent jigs for middle water up to 10 meters deep it depends. Bc I am sick with fishing I got 16feet boat and sonar here with 20hp. Otherwise there is kayak fishing as well for nearby spots etc.
Check Aries Fishing TV. He is experienced he can advised you if needed!!

Hi Chris, very stunning scenery, no doubt! Such an amazing place for some bike touring! I’d love to join you guys. There are some very similar areas along the southern coast of Shikoku, Japan, although Biliran has it beat by a long shot. There are still palm trees here, but not nearly as many. Mostly bamboo forests. Did you go in swimming and check out the cave?? Enjoy!
