I did what you're doing now, except back starting in 2005. Those pension houses were there back then. They just seemed to be cheaper hotels and not much ore than that. I suppose they might have been easy to set up a long term stay.

I find them more like a motel. Not as nice as a hotel but still work. I don't even know if anyone even uses the term motel in the US anymore. Also, there's no food in the Pension Houses I've been in.

Ex-wife is from Toledo 💀. I even stayed at that exact same pension house you are in. I think I paid 800ish pesos but that was in 2010 and the exchange rate was 42-1 peso to dollar. Beautiful beach scenery and sunsets.
There are cheaper rooms there around the 1k mark. It's not that bad really but I'm pretty easy going

I told my family about balut and my husband said he's willing to try it. 🤐 He's a rancher and he likes his steak rare. I guess that says it all! 😂 I've never tried balut and I never will. I do like dinuguan & kinilaw.
