    Concentrating on long negatives and statics does wonders. But, it's really painful and in order to do it properly you should also lower the weights you usually lift. The last one really hurts the Ego. You really have to be mentally strong to succeed with HIT and also be a little bit 'crazy' in the head ;))

    Any other people out there just totally unimpressed with this? Like yeah I don't really care that you had to make a funny face and yell. Doesn't mean the training is that hard. This is just a dude lifting weights. And the HIT 1 or 2 sets to failure thing...uhhh okay? It's still just 1 or 2 sets. I do like 5-10 sets to failure. What's the big deal here?? And in the grand scheme of things lifting weights isn't that crazy. Some of the longest ruck workouts I've done and grappling for 2-3 hours straight are brutal. But I gotta look at this guy screaming doing a set of 8 on curls and be like WOOOW THE INTENSITY 😂

    Regarding time: it's not training alone that gets the results, it's really not 45min 3x a week. Eating well, eating on time, sleeping well, sleeping on time. These are NOT easy to get right when you're working a high stress / high workload job. It's definitely possible, but staying on the ball year-round for your job, family, friends and training is challenging and I respect everyone who gets it right. Cheers!

    I just wanted to say.....what a great bodybuilders talk with two such a great athlets....Mr. Yates I have been following you 30 years ago and always it is a pleasure to hear you talk, give advices and being such a normal, good and modest person although you have accomplished so much in this sport.     I am OCD with me training I do an AB split. So One week A B A next B A B so am working each body part twice over 9 days. Work 2 jobs armed security part time and run a decorating business as well. Sometimes o can’t make it to my local gym which has more equipment. I go to the barracks gym which has only free weights. So sometimes have to make do. What I’ve noticed is tho when I go back to my local gym if I havnt been consistent I tend halt in my progress. Don’t add weights or reps in that workout. This tells me consistency is the key and you should try and stick to the same workouts and progress in the ones which work your muscles the most.

    Personally I like to mix it up abit. I use high intensity techniques a few times in my workout mainly on machines but for some exercises particularly when I am isolating muscle groups I like to focus more on the movement and when I am using free weights. Incline dumbbell press I like to focus on the stretch at the bottom of the workout then going as heavy as I can. Dorian Yates is my favourite bodybuilder tho. He’s total inspiration.
