    This topic is the very important. Most just talking about the system they use. What I want to know is HOW consistent was progress? weekly monthly. HOW often did plateau's crop in?...Sure it varies on the individual, clearly, but this is still very relevant information to the decisions on style choices and uses. A proper video on it would be leaps ahead of the common YT rabbit hole.

    Great stuff.
    1.)Rest/sleep
    2.)whole foods
    3.)exercise
    In no wise can exercise ever supersede rest/sleep and whole foods.
    ALWAYS listen to your body. If you need a deload couple o’ days or week, bloody well take it.🤓
    Thank you, Sir Dorian.

    Huge fan here sir I have Question on workout split do we need to have a day off in-between workout days for recovery and max muscle growth or can we do 3 days workout and a day off. Please please reply to this question thank you

    • @AM.94
      @AM.94 Před 2 lety

      Hey mate, I can answer your question.
      You can train 3 days in a row if you are smart about it and avoid movements that cause large amount of strain on the CNS (Central Nervous System), like deadlifts and squats. Unfortunately, you don't particularly want to avoid these movements as they are two of the best muscle builders for your body.
      Mike Mentzer, inventor of Heavy Duty training, a pre-cursor to Dorian Yates' Blood and Guts, always recommended taking a day off after a workout that contained big, major movements. Imagine if you were to perform a maximal effort set of deadlifts as part of your back day workout routine - the stress you place your body under will not be recovered by the next day, so you will not be able to perform the workout of the next day at maximal intensity.
      I believe that Dorian as well split his leg day with a day of rest before and after the training day to be able to perform this workout, and the next workout to his best ability.
      I believe this is outlined in the Mike Mentzer Audio Tape: Fundamentals of Muscular Development.
      I hope this helps.

    Best answer: No trainining for a week or 2.

    • @anthonyurso9366
      @anthonyurso9366 Před 2 lety

      That’s not true what Dorian said is better. The SRA curve for nervous system is a lot longer than muscles. So muscles can be recovered from training and nervous system still isn’t and because needs to recover hard to break past plateau. The difference is light workouts you are allowing nervous system to recover but still training muscles and 2 weeks can definitely lose performance if not training. Also have to take other things into consideration like diet. When ppl train they most likely are gonna eat better and eat more. Just not eating as much and as clean for cpl weeks can drop performance

      Tell that to John Little (you need to read his books). No training for a week or 2 is what Mike Mentzer prescribed to those who hit plateaus.

    Knowledge is past down.. in this case Arthur Jones to Mike Mentzer to Dorian Yates. Kids today don’t tend to listen to there elders.. think thay know it all. Dorian was the last of the old school..

  • @morecharacterswithamix9067

    Most will dismiss this advise as "overtraining doesn't exist". They will keep spinning their wheels. Breaking plateau needs out of box thinking.

    That is what I thought, I train hard for 3-4 weeks, then take a week off. You become sensitive to training again.

    Seeing Dorian in interviews 3-4 years ago, he was always smiling all the time and looked happy....now he seems to me kind of sad again. Need to do DMT or Ayahuasca or something again. 🙏
