Instead of using a splitter and inverters to combine belts on both sides. Just use a splitter and curve them around onto a single belt c - curved belt B - straight belt s - splitter c B s B c s c c

Instead of investing loads of resources into turrets you can wipe the locals' bases near your perimeter BEFORE your pollution reaches them. If there's some buffer distance between their bases and pollution, they won't go toward your base. Instead, they will expand "naturally", without any specific direction, and much slower. For distant resource outposts - you can build defense points *outside* of your pollution zone of the outpost. Preventing the locals from evolving because of poluttion IMO is much better than constantly fighting against high-tier attacks.

I used trains once to transport oil, but i saw what was possible with mass transport i started to spam trains everywhere 😂 they're so fast too It's nice to go place to place in a few seconds

Don't forget to use sold fuel, use burner inserters so should you run out of power in the early game you can restart the power automatically, and always go BIG.

The only thing I didn't understand is why you connect only two generators to the boiler. I connected more than 8, 4 on each side and everything worked calmly.

Not really sure on the recent comments here but wanted to say thank you again for this video and showing me how to belt balance. If not for you, i'd have never beaten the game with rampant settings.

City blocks is such a confusing concept to me. Its only useful, once you have finished and beaten the game. You need to have almost everything the entire game has on offer unlocked to start using it. So what exactly is the point of it. I highly doubt that many people continue a map after the first launched rocket. Probably the amount of people that do that can be counted on two hands. Best to do is just a simple main bus and then from there you have the space to build everything you need to get to the end game. Then maybe a secondary base for just science production with some bigger veins. I had never beaten the game before I used main busses. Soon as I did was the first time I beat it. But I can never see a point to playing after that, as you have already beaten the biters and can just spend a thousand hours expanding a factory that is useless to exist.

Cityblock can also have really bad lag issues with train routing, just watch DocJade's Extra Science playthrough. I definitely think a train-fed main bus is by far the superior option.

When iron patch has a little stone mixed up, and you notice this only when the same colour bricks clog up iron plate dependant build

as a transport tycoon player, trains are accually realy simple and intuitive

Protip: Using rocket fuel, or better yet nuclear fuel in your trains will make them go faster, so they're much harder to dodge. Another great way to increase your train kills is to play mulitiplayer, more people = more targets for your blood-craving trains.

Putting efficiency modules in the miners reduces the polution a lot.

the blue ore behaves more like copper by being made into wires etc (which is funny since blue ore in games tends to be iron) and the copper/orange ore behaves more like Iron by being used to make metal plates and machine parts
