00:00 Did you know that in Factorio, you should use trains?
00:02 To build trains, you need rails, locomotive, wagons, signals, station and engineer.
00:08 With those elements you can build stations, intersections or some spaghetti mess.
00:12 Trains follow a very simple rule, every signal separate rails into blocks.
00:17 There can be only one train in a block, so another train has to wait.
00:21 The real fun begins with rail chain signals which look into block ahead.
00:25 They allows you to build more complicated intersections.
00:28 Overall trains in Factorio are very complicated for beginners.
00:31 So I recommend you in game tutorial to learn more about how trains works.
00:36 It’s a pretty nice and interactive way to learn about them.
00:39 When comes to your words, just start with simple constructions like this one.
00:43 And when you get better while playing, simply upgrade it to something better.
00:47 Whatever you do, you should never stand on the rails, hehe not even clos..
This is a short Factorio tutorial or guide. You can find some useful tips for your Factorio speedrun and death world game. Advance topics like trains blueprints circuit network will be explained in a few seconds. I hope this series will work great as a trailer and review for Factorio. I will also try to keep it funny in a meme way.

Sounds like a plan
For any junction, remember: Chain in, Rail out.
Unless there's immediately another junction; chain, chain, chain, rail!
and chain signals on all small segments in the middle for max throughput
Rail if a train can stand there without blocking, chain everywhere else.
Most players (including me) often make the mistake of making train segments smaller after the intersections than the length of the train, and the trains end up blocking the crossing therefore train length should be the most basic input when designing a rail network. #lfmf
wtf I was told that chain signals should be on exit
Some day, he will, in the end, weep in silence, for there would be no swears to utter.
Nah, he'll just curse in forgotten languages, alien languages, or both.
Just make new ones then.
If he goes Dutch there's suddenly a whole medical book of diseases to throw around!
He's gonna *curse* in Latin.
Im just waiting for him to say sibal
Just trains. Only trains.
Just trains.
The UPS savior
That moment when you think you survived the train, but then another train comes to finish the job.
I don’t use trains. I hire other players to run logistics jeeps for me, with the promise that I will help them learn how to build their own factories (I outsource this process as well) but I never teach them enough that they won’t need my services anymore
I call it Trickle-Down-Factorio
It's business

Smells like some SpiffingBrit shenanigans to me 🤣
Trains are one of those things that you WILL suck with at first. But then you learn the basics and suddenly you went from drawing a stick figure to the Mona Lisa.
I was struggling for a long time, still am, with trains. I can barely get simple intersections to work. So I looked into the basics / community tutorials... and most of the videos are around 90-130m long... mf that isn't basic that's astrophysics
To this day, and almost 400 hours of game time later, I still have no fucking idea how to set up intersections reliably. Sometimes they work with no problem. Other times they never work. And other other times they work for awhile and then just stop working. I genuinely can't figure out why
@@cq4538r are you using bi-directional tracks or one-way? When I started I was attempting to use one track for in and out and could never get it to work right. When I finally broke down and looked up proper tutorials I found everyone using a track for each direction. Ever since then I’ve not had a problem with trains.. outside of them blocking each other in poorly designed roundabouts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Exulted Cthulhu yes. I've tried a handful of different ways. 2 in 4 out, 3 in 1 out, 2 in 2 out (crossing over because of my base setup) and I have to trial and error every time I set up a new intersection to get it to work.
Also if you have played OpenTTD or any other transport tycoon like game you will find out that signals are nearly identical
@@cq4538r Doshdoshington has a simple and short tutorial on how to use trains that's under 10 minutes I believe. It should help
There is a good reason why I get anxiety whenever anyone stands on rails.
tbh you are killing it with this Shorts series mr Trupen, very nice
Chads just carry the ores to their base
"The factory must grow, the trains must flow"
Trains are also very helpful to introduce new players to the death and respawn mechanic of Factorio
End: o kur.....
Midway in Poland XD
The ending got me lmao nice one
Fact: Factorio train system can be found in Sweet Transit, and there, it's a nightmare
I haven't started playing Factorio until I have my first rail system in place.
Then i never played factorio
thank god for logistic train network. Also a modular rail blueprint book I found years ago
Forget about trains! I believe in ridiculously long conveyor from mining outpost to base supremacy.
"Ha! Not even clos- Gah korra!" Trupen gets better and better with his endings xd
In the ending was one Polish popular word...
For real though, the in-game tutorials are just STELLAR. The chain signals still get confusing if you're a smooth brain (like me) but dang, they are great!
You forgot to mention trains are the number one enemy in factorio, second are the trees of course. Don Kichote fought with windmills you have to fight with trains XD
0:28 Me , who still didn't launched rocket , and using factorio just like train simulator for 3 years : Oh really?
For a train simulator I prefer workers and resources xD, but I to spend way to much time just honing my train network to perfection
@@simon2493 by the way, about "W&R:SR", I'm building cities there only as a decoration for the railway , cuz my cities are to expensive to keep them in good state outside the sandbox mode
@@simon2493 maybe the only thing i good at is a trains?
@@user-kz8ut4mc8m I'm playing on realistic so it's different, but I've managed to get positive balance by investing in textiles but it was when there was no water needed
@@simon2493 the best strategy is oil processing
I used trains once to transport oil, but i saw what was possible with mass transport i started to spam trains everywhere 😂 they're so fast too
It's nice to go place to place in a few seconds
These short vidoes are making my day. I love them. Thank you for outputting these.
Turpen is about to run out of swear words soon enough. I don't know how we'll handle it
Fun fact: you can put the wagons in front of the engines. wagons have more air resistance, and this causes the trains to go slower.
trupen is a certified funny man
I always build large train bases in Factorio! Signaling isn't that bad once you get used to it.
A general rule for signals in stations:
"rail in, chain out"
So use a rail signal going in on the line, and a chain signal going out.
Intersections can be mostly made up of chain signals.
I recommend finding a blueprint for a bunch of train blueprints and looking at how they work, I learnt a lot more from looking than I did from trying to learn it from youtube videos or anything.
If this series continues until Trupen is out of swear words to cut at the end, I'm looking forward to the finale episode in 2164
You don't even need trains, you're killing it man!
Even if you don't know how to use 'em just do it, they are awesome
Trains are love, trains are life
Love you!!
Have so missed your content
Trupen's engineer BECAME the engine (well, melded with it, anyway)
Now I wanna try and make a 500 train junction
You had me at the end there!
Good man
At 0:43, I thought that Trupen was gonna get killed my multiples trains like on that recent post on reddit
That title feels like a threat.
As it should be :)
Thanks, bro
No problem
That death sound makes my morning ☺️
Did you know?
Trains are one of the most effective weapons in Factorio for both sinking time and for causing baby rage every time you aren’t in a spidertron and on foot.
My boy turned polish at the end
Death is always a matter of time once you introduce trains to your factory.
Happy new year!
Same to you!
Trains intersection and signals, probably the thing I still dont understand even after trying D:
"It's a choo-choo-shoe, Charlie!" (c)
I never understood while I should care to use or even build train and tracks and so on when I have chestS full of belt that would cary my stuff too..
belts are fine in a small base, but the bigger the base the more useful trains are
Just checked the channel for new videos and saw "Uploaded 16 seconds ago" lmao
nice
Hi Trupen, maybe make a trainguide ?
I love Traiiiiiiiiiiiiins. (Selphie, FF8)
Adam Something would love this video XD
yeah trains can solve every problem for him :D
I am 700 hours in and I am just only starting to understand how the switches work
I te soczyste "KURWA" na końcu XD
I legitimately cannot beat the train Tutorial 😢😢😢
You just have to read carefully all the Tex in it and it should be fine
Not even cl.. KURWA 🤣
Still trying to figure out double ended locomotives. Eventually I get fed up with “cannot reach destination” say f it and stick with 8 tracks
Pay attention where you place train stops, train always stops at the left side of the station
@@JolyHotShot I've figured out trains somewhat but that was distinctly not the problem I was having.
Edit, I think it was problems with the double sided signals. Not sure and can't check as I've moved on to new worlds and tiled mono directional set ups.
If you’re not getting hit by trains, you don’t have enough trains
If only we could have curve that is real curve and not premade sprite with said length
Gonk haha got em
Never Hello Trupen!
If I use chain signals, does it create more potential blocks? I started messing with trains yesterday, and there's a particular intersection I'm struggling with because it refuses to split a certain section into blocks or makes 2 parts part of the same block even though they're separated by track. It was pretty irritating so I ended up having to use double the rails to make an outgoing and incoming path and then my signals worked fine.... except my oil train sometimes gets stuck waiting for the stone train in front of it, when it theoretically could simply crossover and go to the oil fields while the stone is loading up
Yes chain signals define blocks just like regular signals.
1) Yes and No. It creates blocks like regular signals will, but it also reads what is in the next block to determine if the chain signal should be red, blue, or green.
2) Red and green are basically the same thing, and but red means all future signals are occupied so it won't go forward, but with green all next blocks are unoccupied. Pretty standard.
3) Blue means at least one future signal is red, with at least one green. This could mean you could have ten red signals but a lone green, or a lone red with a ton of greens.
4) Use more standard signals then chain signals unless two things. First, it forks into multiple paths, and second if your current path crosses over more then one set of rails. At which point you want to use chain signals for every crossing.
Lastly) If you want any help you can always send me a friend invite over steam "VictorRaze" and I can pop into one of your worlds to show you what your problems are.
@victorraze9358 that sounds like it would be really helpful, but also mortifying 😂
Your advice is really good, I will tinker some more and see if I can get it. Right now it is smooth enough for me, but I know it is a kink I will need to work out in the future
Debugging my "no path" system one junktion at a time then never touching it again not to fuck it up again. :)
Best tip I found "Chain in (to intersection) Rail out. easy as that
Video idea: Just use Factorio
I like trains

Train-only playthrough when?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hahaha. I like how you *tried* to pronounce "kurwa".
But i want to eat launch in my base :(((

Train.
why would you use trains over belts though?

I hate that at 0:06 you build the train facing the opposite way to the signals and stop
what about trains...

it makes sense since it was "kurat" ;)

HELP I CANT TRAIN!
0:08 Engineer is for noobs. Just use robots.
I've had Factorio for years as it looked interesting, but sadly I have never played it through. I usually get bored or notice a big mistake in my spaghetti and start a new game. So I haven't advanced far enough to use trains.
Then one morning on modded Minecraft, the amazing Create mod got a train update and they work just like in Factorio! Maybe even better in some regards. It's not hard to grasp how they work, but to use them effectively you need to think harder.
Oh Kurwa!
play openttd and u will find out too
No! >:(
I'll mod if I have to to avoid trains!
hol up was that a kurwa at the end
