00:00 Did you know that in Factorio, you can place miners smarter?
00:03 Mining resources and processing them in machines is the goal of factorio
00:07 This is why you should learn more about mining
00:09 In the early game you have only burner drills
00:12 The best way to use them is by placing a drill and furnace directly on ore
00:16 When comes to coal, you should build a loops of self-fueling drills
00:19 In the mid-game remember to place balancer before loading ore to a train
00:24 It will make train loading equal and way smoother
00:27 In the late game, if you are lazy you can use bots to load ores
00:31 Or if you care about UPS’s consider direct train loading from an ore path
00:35 Whatever method you use, remember to build a new outpost
00:38 Before you ran out of resources to build a new one…
This is a short Factorio tutorial or guide. You can find some useful tips for your Factorio speedrun and death world game. Advance topics like trains blueprints circuit network will be explained in a few seconds. I hope this series will work great as a trailer and review for Factorio. I will also try to keep it funny in a meme way.
#Factorio - Hry
The miner into train reminds me too much of Dosh’s forbidden cargo wagon knowledge
inquisition! this guy!
About to say this
Ah yes, the first man in the world go receive a "Nobelt" prize
I felt dirty watching that video.
What's that?
I have over 1000 hours in factorio and have never thought of mining directly into trains. There's stuff for everyone in these tutorials!
I've never gotten close to this far myself, but apparently if you research mining productivity enough (dozens of times), direct loading into trains is the only way to keep up with a miner's output speed
In your messages lies the answer: You ONLY have 1000h, this is why you did not know about this yet.
"I spent my entire life in a 1 game"
Im expert guys!
*Learns out Even the dumber way to play*
Im no longer Expert in this game
It is only (or mostly) useful for mega bases, where FPS times are the most important optimization factor.
@@mennovanlavieren3885 not really, anytime you use trains it's useful because you don't need to place lots of belts.
Mining directly onto trains can be extremely powerful in the very late game. If you have huge mining productivity bonuses, you can end up with miners actually mining faster than belts can take away the ore. Putting directly onto a train does not have this limitation.
Wouldn't it be better to have them mine into a chest and have a stack inserter put it in? So you can have a buffer?
@@PrinceSilvermane yes, up until you produce more ore than a stack inserted could unload. Once you exceed that, it's better to load directly to the train car. I'd have to look up the stats to tell you exactly when but I'm talking at the very late game. Like it would require you to be VERY far into the mining productivity bonus research.
@@PrinceSilvermane The issue with mining into a chest is that you are missing the 4 tiles of resources below the train track + inserter so you'd have to move all your tracks + miners after a while to get those.
@@BombStrike2 If you don't put the chest between the train and the miner you can still do it without missing any ore. A miner outputting straight into a chest which has a stack inserter to the side onto a train will work without missing any ore although it will be slower than just loading straight to the train because the miners are less densely placed (an empty row both on the side and the front instead of just the front)
@@PrinceSilvermane You just add more trains as buffer instead of chest, it is super effective!
Best place to place a mining drill is right on top of a biter nest.
Someone make that a mod
Expected resources: Alien Science Pack x273
Last time I was THIS early, I was approximately this early
Thankfully enough I'm early as well and can thank you for your biter island and minimalist films, I really hope your new hardcore challenge film will be great
i love both of your videos
Interesting of you commenting here
This seems very early :)
Sadly I'm not that early. Scheiße!
I am guilty of not building a new outpost before running out of materials to build a new outpost. Every. Damn. Time.
Trains are the only valid situation for using balancers.
how did you post 40 mins ago
@@rafaelutzul4790 the vid would have been private before and this chap would have been a tester before the vid is made public
That's not quite right. In the early/mid game you have plenty of builds that don't quite eat entire belts of inputs, and individual parts of your build might be outputting partial belts. You need some way to turn multiple partial belts into something that won't starve builds further down the line. Speedrunner style "balancers" are perfect for that.
That said, I 100% agree on standard "perfect split" type balancers.
Who needs balancers when you can use cargo wagon to balance the load!
@@petkras Eh, once the overfed belt backlogs, the splitter overflows it onto the starved belt, self-balancing itself anyways.
Damn, trupen out here with german
*SCHLAMP..*
makes me think of a design where trains are conveyor belts and transport materials to one massive train that delivers to the base.
What if...the train WAS the base?
@@DarkButz genius
Check out DoshDoshington, he did a full run like that (Beltless run)
@@DarkButz Snowpiercer (2013)
Wow I've never considered mine straight to rail car
What is rail car? Did you mean burner long inserter?
Honestly mining directly into trains freaking genius, because it involves BUILDING MOAR TRAINZ WOOOOOOO!
I as a german really liked the last part of the video
how to summon germans 101:
a) say germany in the title
b) say something german
ich bin dessen auch schuldig
Ach das passiert
Hey Trupen, love your stuff. You're my favorite Factorio content creator. I hope in 2023 you produce more long-form content, like 10 minutes or more. Your 10-30 min vids are my favorite. Weird themed playthroughs and playthroughs with other people are always entertaining! I would love to see you do Diagonal Space Exploration.
lets mine and produce so mich biters wont have time to expand
Nilaus actually used this to increase ups like 6 months ago.
If you don't like the way mining works in vanilla. I suggest the mod TA Miners which gives you big ass miners with 9 module slots that can mine 90bajillion ore per second and are the size of the Sun.
I'd like a tech advancement for the Electric Miners, so instead of only mining 5x5 they can upgrade to mine 7x7, then 9x9, aso. Very expensive, but helps clear up the Ore patch and reduces the rate of which you have to remove the Miners..
I use Omega Drill. It has nice animation, outputs exactly 1 blue belt of ores (tho you have to mine into a splitter to realistically have that output) and its crafting helps get rid of all of the electric drills it makes obsolete. You seldom need to use more that 2 per ore patch iirc.
@@toddkes5890 If you do that, then you run into problems any time you have two different ore patches next to each other, because it becomes harder to not overlap the mining area onto some of the other ore type.
@@jadekaiser7840 Splitters as a filter will do wonders. Or make sure to mine the adjacent areas first, and then use Splitters to separate the ore types. So you would have three outputs - Ore type A, Ore Type B, and a mixed Belt. The Mixed Belt would separate the ore, and ore from this mixed belt would have priority when feeding to the main outputs.
I like to smelt my ores before I put them on trains to increase the amount the hail.
You were saying "Hello Trupen" wrong.
You never run out of resources to build a new outpost. Just deconstruct one and move it.
Being able to understand german... cuz it got cut off im not sure if that last word was ment to mean "sloppy" or the B*tch but both would be appropiate 🤣
The latter one...

There's not enough information on efficient mining in factorio, and its something that I really struggle with and it turns me away from the game. I just hate placing miners constantly, ore throughput seems to be the only thing I actually manage and my biggest bottleneck.
Mining efficiency research is best friend
Increase ore density. Essentially you must come to the realization to play the game the WAY YOU LIKE. It may involve mods or cheats. I know, I'm like that myself: all gotta be vanilla "as -god- developers intended". That's the broken competetive multiplayer mindset.
@@VADemon thats actually a really valid suggestion. I have always found it "cheaty" doing things like this, but I guess if I'm not enjoying it, it might be the only option I have. I need someone actually good at factorio to show me on mp how to do shit.
@@portalfan0438 You can try to find people for mp on Steam discussions or elsewhere. If you don't like doing the mistakes yourself to explore, I think Nilaus on YT is the go-to source for an organized base building experience.
@@VADemon I've seen a lot of Nilaus, Dosh, Hendriks etc but I still feel like I suck lol. I haven't found any luck with steam community...
0:34 in direct train loading, do you limit the inventory size of the train cargo cars? seems like it would take too long to load only being fed by a few miners at once
You would only use that technique if two miners had a combined throughput greater than the fastest belt in your version of the game. Meaning that the speed at which the ore travels from the miner to the train becomes the bottleneck. So you remove the bottleneck in this way. You would also want to use a train stacker and enough trains in the system that the amount of time there isn't a train receiving ore from the miners is minimized. This is because you lose the buffer chests of a traditional unloading station that enables miners to continue to work even when there isn't a train to load ore into.
plz make some videos about pvp or early game ( since you rich blue science ) blueprints
One night say that miners can ore
imagine needing balancers kek
yeah that man is crazy
the first time I played (still the current one) I didn't use train... next time, maybe, I will...
Liar! You always can deconstruct previous outposts. So there's no "running out of resource to build new outpost"
Except oil
ill be able to use trupen's masterful knowledge about factorio to my advant-
*i dont have factorio*
ayy we back to german insults
Can someone list languages used at the end of video? I am getting intrigued xD
Im actually waiting for a new year episode
I thought I know stuff about mining.
Then I joined Comfy Mountain fortress server...
I saw the thumbnail and swore quite loudly. Why have I never considered loading ores straight into trains? What is wrong with me?
just reverse engineer the client to get more ups
Guys how do you build After doing ctrl c?
ctrl v
@@Trupen do you need the construction bot?
except if the drill is imputing directly onto a cargo wagon, you would lose output potential when the train leaves to deliver cargo.
Have another train come in to replace it immediately
@@greenbean4537 getting that set up to work would be spaghetti in its own right. My brain is too smooth for Factorio. And my love for the game continues to grow.
@@Crimnox_Cinder just put a second train behind the first one
What did you call my Mother ?
She was also mining wrong.

how to mine water?
in the game, there's a thing called "Pump" or "Water Pump", u craft it, put it in water, connect to electricity, and bam- u got water
Was... was that German?
jawohl
boy are you wrong i dont have this game so i dont mine right or WRONG.
yeah, you are kind of right...

You mean train networks aren’t late-game?
no, you can start trains before blue science.
@@Ghorda9 I know you can start them before blue, but is it really feasible to make a whole functioning network before gold?
@@commanderfoxtrot yes, and it doesn't need to be a full network either, just using it for oil and ore is enough.
..pe!
finally, the first german curse xD
furtunately there are no women playing factorio
There are women in factorio, what are you talking about. They even come in varying sizes, and are often surrounded by huge worms. It's a shame that one's a spitter and even worse that the other's a biter.
incorrect mining >:(
Gonk [:
lol
Better to use circuits than balancers to keep Train cars balanced.
also, once you hit insane levels of mining productivity, direct mining is just faster
