***130-0 DECK TECH!***. Is Bullszat the Best Deck in CEDH?
Two years ago I debuted a Rakdos CEDH deck that has quickly become not only my favorite Commander deck of all time, but my strongest as well. This design currently has a 130-0 streak on Magic Online, with no end in sight. It is the first deck I've ever played to a 100+ win streak on MTGO.
In this video, I showcase an updated version of the deck, chronicling all the changes it has received in the two years since I first featured it. This is a shorter deck tech compared to my earlier ones, but it still contains lots of new information. Thanks for watching!

    Very cool and I can see how this deck does well in a 1v1 format. However, most people associate "cEDH" with the more popular 4-player variation of the format. Would you ever consider adapting this deck for 4-player? I imagine it would look extremely different.

    ok DrEvo here... ive sat and thought about answering the actual question to this video. i would say red black tevesh isnt the best deck in edh or 1v1 cedh. reason for that. I have found that cedh white is often a silver bullet for a deck like this. red black tevesh can be extremely fast and goofy for sure. but its holes are the fact it relies so heavy on artifacts its almost worth it for an opponent to play artifacts themselves as well as play null rod. as long as you can remove planeswalkers and shut down artifacts as well as not let opponent play things at instant speed and are able to slow down the game or keep pace i have found anything played can be ok. if youre playing red against this deck i feel things like treasure nabber or price of glory are worth a look. urza artifacts.... now thats an interesting matchup. i had a game with nate where urza dominated. ive had a game prior to that where i know i lost but cant remember how. baral with a master of the game is extremely well as well as teferi. honestly i feel a tier list is needed. thats why i suggested that as a video. i feel 20 commanders, rated for 1v1 cedh would make for more conversation, as well as bring controversy.

      I think the most threatening white cards for this deck are stony silence and drannith magistrate. When those come down on turn 1 it can make for a very difficult game. Overall though white has a very hard time containing fast starts.

    Hey Brian. The sequence starting at 50:30 - 53:00. In commentary you believed to be at 7 and tap City to drop to 6. I completely understand sometimes taking the risk and putting your opponent on the exact cards to kill you but at 7 life (dropping to 6) and tapping out (52:10) a player of your caliber tapping out and "crossing your fingers" (52:55) seemed a bit maverick. In game, you were actually at 9 life and tapping the city dropping to 8, so even if your opponent had the Psi Blast and bolt (as you mentioned at 52:20) it would put you to 1 which made the tapping out play more understandable. Do you think the 2 additional life points in game was more so the reason behind for tapping out? Again, I understand we must take risks sometimes so I'm just curious. For reference, you realize you're at 8 life 55:10

    The only reason I disagree about consultation is the card has existed for 30 years without issue. Oracle imo is the more obvious ban. The stupid thing about DC is that you can name a card not in your deck. That should not be allowed if you ask me. It is a shame you aren’t recording anymore as I find your content very enjoyable. But I understand why as this format is trash in it’s current state.

    • @BrianDiscGolf
      @BrianDiscGolf Před 23 dny

      Hey Daniel! Thanks so much for your kind words, they're really appreciated. I do think an Oracle ban is a simple way to fix the problem now, though I'd also like to see Consult and Pact gone permanently too. There are so few use cases for those cards that aren't insta-win abuse, and their presence impedes future card design. I also wish they hadn't allowed you to name a card you don't have in your deck, but I suspect they never anticipated people would use the spell to commit library suicide. Sigh, I hope to get all this remedied one day, it would bolster my enjoyment of the format again and likely getting me playing and recording. Any chance you play disc golf? I've got a lot of content up on my other channel about that :P

      @@BrianDiscGolf Ah! Thank you very much for the response. Sorry for the delay in replying to you =} Oh yes, I played with that old banned list. I liked it a lot, that's why I asked. Over time, several different Commander banlists appeared (you must know about this), but almost none gained popularity, except for the French list, but I don't like that one and I have many criticisms about it, so I don't play it. Funny how all of this bla…bla…bla talking on what your opponent hypothetically might be playing, and what he might be drawing and holding in his hands and what his strategy might be etc… etc… would easily be resolved with a simple one drop artifact card: Glasses of Urza. Never understood why top quality tier one WBU control decks, which are basically the best decks in old-school pretty much never use that card.

    • @Thebrianweissman
      @Thebrianweissman Před 2 měsíci

      Haha, funny you mention that card. I actually ran Glasses of Urza during my first few months or so playing Magic, back in 1994. After a while, I realized I had a pretty good sense of what my opponent was holding most of the time, and that kind of obsolesced the Glasses. If you can avoid playing Glasses of Urza and get 80% of their normal benefit, think of the card advantage you gain! So they're a decent learning tool for people getting started in Old School. But after you've put in 30,000 hours or whatever, they're not worth the slots at all, or the turn you take drawing and casting them.
