- We are back at last! When we last left off, I was fighting an uphill battle against an S-tier deck wielded by an S-tier opponent, in Hall of Famer Eric Froelich. Somehow I managed to weather the storm, surviving two Ancestral Recalls, a Timetwister and a Wheel of Fortune.
With that epic game in the books, it's time for the critical sideboard decisions. Sideboarding in Old School is one of the challenging and most critical skills in this format. In this video, Sam Tang and I cover the sideboards, and discuss how Eric and I are likely to modify our designs. Game 2 is coming up right around the corner, get ready! - Hry
Sweet! Back at it!! And really helpful Sideboard consideration analysis! Very thoughtful and insightful!!
Great! Looking forward to the follow-up.
I think I would have left in one copy of The Abyss. My thinking is that it's proactive which helps you play under vise, and it might save you plows which you could use more flexibly for their Mishra's... or yours.
damn, so much good stuff to take in here. Thanks!
Yes!
I wish all deck techs and match ups had this much detail. This is wildly entertaining and insightful. Great job Brian!. I know you've said recently you've been busy with other interests and you've conquered the old school format but you should try premodern. Where I live it's really becoming popular and people are having a blast playing it. Something to consider maybe. Peace from Canada.
Thanks for the kind comments Ryan, they're really appreciated! I have heard of Premodern, but I've never taken a look at the format. I'll go check it out and give it some thought. My friend Nate Prawdzik is also into esoteric older formats, so perhaps he and I could do a collaboration. Thanks for the information, hope you're well!
Yay!
Awesome!
