Wow, you have just saved me so much future trouble! It’s mid July, we’re in the middle of a killer heat wave and I’m out in my garage working on this same monster snow blower! I was getting ready to button it up when this video popped up. I noticed the cable and brake bushings not spinning but I thought they were supposed to be that way…so glad I saw this! I had to remove the hex shaft assembly on this one to replace a broken snap ring on it, didn’t think I’d ever get it back together again! I want everything right on this machine because I NEVER want to see it in here again lol. Thanks for the video!

I've got the same engine. Hard to start when cold, and impossible when hot. I'm guessing the carb needs cleaning. Choke linkages all appear correct and move freely.

Small engine repair 101. Replace spark plug with new spark plug.

Man idk I found a 116” long belt x 1/2” thick fits BUT idk if the belt I got was trash because I literally cut my lawn 3 times and the belt smoked it’s self. The belt I found 3 years ago was 116” long but was 5/8 thick and lasted 3 years.

if its a model 46 I'd fix it but if its a model 42🗑

Make sure your motor mount screws are tight. I've had all screws come loose on two mowers.

I have mower similar to this that was given to me and I'm trying to disengage the gear so it will roll/be serviced. There is no gear in the back like traditional mowers or on the side. Would you happen to know how to disengage the gear on these? Or where the lever is located? . Any assistance is appreciated!

Chain of events might have been the opposite. If the clutch is slipping it will generate heat, and that might melt the plastic and dry out the needle bearing. If the saw is not oiling correctly then everything tightens up and gets warm.

You know I'm kind of convinced that the reason a lot of people don't like it is the smell. They dance around various topics that don't really hold a lot of weight but the one universal is they don't like the smell and I think that honestly jades their judgment

My Generac GP8000E had a Torch F7TC in it from the factory. Swapped it out for an NGK BPR7ES. I knew something was wrong when testing it then switched plug s and it ran smoother.

I think it's pretty well established that Torch plugs are cheap junk from China. I've only seen one stupid old fart who wanted to replace a Torch plug with another Torch plug. Get a real spark plug already.

The blue belt, looks like TrueBlue now supples Toro so called OEM. Aftermarket belt. Many aftermarket are OEM direct replacement.

Hi Ken. Something I only recently learnt is you need to change the oil after the first 10 hrs of running, like cars need and oil change after 500miles, because of the bits that get worn off during the running in period. TBH, I don't know how that hadn't exploded with no oil or run with a filter like that? Half my job seems to informing owners why it had a problem, and how to maintain their machinery.

What if I move the lever but it still doesnt disengage? I m.guessing it's something internal.
