2:46 As a wannabe Linux non-user, yet. The problem is, Idk their package names; such as, telegram-desktop. Why not steam-desktop, or can it be anything; like whatsapp-desktop ? Or IS THERE EVEN A WHATSAPP to begin with... Questions, questions. It's definitely 1000% easier to install them individually then look up for their names just to type in to install them using a terminal. Oh and the errors... D0mb. When I install protonUp-Qt, the location where Steam is installed does not appear, what should I do?

I came of age (so to speak) on the C64 then MS/PC/DR-DOS. The GUI I grew up with was GEOS which eventually made its way to the PC world. I loved the graphical interface, but nothing topped the command line for me. When Linux arrived, I was thrilled to get back into my comfort zone on the command line.

That's why I use arch btw... A system update with pacman -Syy > apt upgrade (already did a spelling err while typing this command... And thts how arch is faster) and I love SPEEED...😂

It is a shame that eDEX-UI is no longer maintained.

be aware that on ubuntu and such you will need to first instal flatpak or add it to the software store otherwise protonup won't show.

Here is something worth remembering: Never ever use telnet except for lab purpouses because it's uncsecure. For real life use ssh instead. Telnet when you wann connect to device send your password in plain text allowing potential attacker to get it from you and use it to do anything to your system.

Good news indeed. I am pissed off with Windows 11 UI. Rookies-like people working at M$ have f*ked up Windows 11 UI. It's a continuous downfall from Windows 7, the most usable OS of the history, to a total mess. Windows 10 is still livable, but Windows 11 is a disaster. Perhaps they do the change only to make it look different so that they give a valid reason to users to upgrade. It's a sad story. Many people have lost productivity at work after switching to Win 11. This is a high-time when OS needs to be democratized where the best of features only should be there. If Linux FX can bring back Windows 10 experience, whoops, good to go. It can even think to monetize on it.

Thanks for this, but I tried it to suspend Dark Souls remastered in Linux and it said it can't, probably because the game uses Anti-Cheat. Edit: actually it's possible, I was using the flatpak version (probably needs custom permissions), using the portable app it was working (dark souls off-line mode, with or without sudo nyrna)

I loved this video. I started linux by using Ubuntu, and it gave me a great impression on what linux can be. I then heard all the snaps hate, and thought I made a mistake, but now honesty, this along with another video kinda convinced me that snaps are really not deserving the hate.

I like corectrl, BUT it doesn't have the other features from the AMD control panel in windows like being able to activate fluid motion frames or antilag ..etc.. really would be nice is someone figured those out for linux with an app. or at least launch options to throw in steam or lutris to get the same things..

the mendeleyev schematic is interesting analogy for distros.Actually I think it would be useful to say, that looking at linux and the distros is like looking at the Mendeleyev Board of elements. It's overwhelming and complicated. But we have The Standard Model now. it;s just basically quarks, protons and electrons in different combinations. And in the same way all distros are just Gnome, KDE, and window managers in different combinations :)
