- I hope you’re making progress on your Steam backlog because Valve has no intention of starving you for games. Within 1 month of launching, Steam Deck has hit an incredible milestone. But things aren't exactly perfect...

#SteamDeck #Verified #Valve - Věda a technologie
"welcome home", so true. This channel is like visiting a good friend's Linux home.
You're always so nice!
Just got a deck a few days ago, some verified games just don't work and some unsupported games work flawlessly. Also controller function with "Tv mode" is shotty, some verified games like MGSV doesn't recognize Xbox one controllers. It's going to take some time, but as of now Steam Deck is the most impressive handheld device to date. A true masterpiece.
to be fair... Vampire survivors chugs after 25 min on even some of the beefiest pc rigs...lol
True... it barely matters what kind of hardware you have. The game ends up becoming pretty much a stress test for cpu and gpu with all those enemies on the screen being rendered on top of another. I would say the developers should have a look if that can be optimized somehow. ^^'
@@TheJackiMonster Considering that it's such a low-fi 2D game it's actually kinda surprising to see it perform this poorly. Since it's not the graphics that slow it down so much (unless the draw calls aren't properly batched?), it must be enemy AI, but that can be made crazy fast with an ECS.
I'd say the devs really need to look into optimizing that game because it doesn't look like a game that should be difficult to run at all.
@@ThePC007 I think most enemies only move towards the player, others a stationary. So their logic is simple enough to make it run via a compute shader as well. This could be way more efficient than using the cpu for this at all which I assume is the bottleneck.
Otherwise yes, batching the drawcalls should do it.
Actually I think Steam Deck will help tremendously with my backlog, since I'll have a lot more different opportunities to play than currently, since right now I only get caught up on my purchased titles while sitting at my bedroom desk.
Nice to see your face on camera after long time and happy April fool's day btw
Thank you!
I just want COD War Zone and BF5 to work on Linux. BF5 works, but not nearly as well as on Windows
Hi Cap, I always come back to your channel no matter what the algorithm wishes. This maybe not the most fancy or technical reviews of things, but these are the ones I love the most
Thanks great video !
By the way, Steam Deck uses Arch
For now.... 😂
I can't wait to install different distros on it.
The old Linux adage: "I use Arch, BTW" can easily apply to Steam Deck users. ツ
So many of the games I'm playing at the moment aren't even verified. Batman Arkham City is one of those deemed unplayable but seems to work perfectly on my Deck.
A lot of people have been reporting that verified games start slowing down or just crashing by mid to late game depending on the game. The problem with the verification system is that Valve just doesn't have the time or manpower to play every game that they verify from start to finish to make sure it's 100% great. It would take them a decade or more just to verify their current library without new games coming out if they had to do that. They need a better way to check the games before they say it verified to make sure it's not gonna break half way through th game.
Valve is such an amazing company. God bless these people.
Vampire Survivors is a javascript game running on a single thread. So it runs like trash on lower single core perf cpus, unable to use more cores. The experimental lag fix did improve it somewhat on my desktop R5 3600
My account shows Steam Deck available after October 2022, i guess im having a great Christmas this year!
Now that's how you look ok the bright side! And you'll probably have almost DOUBLE the playable games that we have now.
@@LinuxForEveryone playable though? You was saying about all the problems?
"After Q3" does not also mean "before end of Q4"
For example, April 1, 2023 is still "after Q3"
Vampire survivors developer does not care about the fps drops in late game. The slowdowns happen on any PC that this game runs on and are seen as a feature by the game developer.
I noticed an "Experimental lag fix" launch option, that curiously PRESENTS a high framerate but very obviously has the same late game lag. It's a real shame as I love that game...
@@LinuxForEveryone yeah honestly the ge would be wonderfull with couple of optimization brushups.
That vampire game dips into stupid low frame rates on a lot of hardware though, I don't think that's a deck issue but I can see argument for why it should be kept out of verified
Yea definitely. It just gives users a bad impression if they repeatedly see these "Verified" titles chugging. Maybe they'll blame Linux, you know?
Can't wait for my deck.. Q3.22!!!
I hope your wait flies by!
I can't wait for my steam deck in q3, I have such a big backlog and won't get games for my pc because I know that I will enjoy them more on my steam deck (e.g. Coromon or Megquarium)
Hope your wait flies by!
Finally Linux will get gaming perf exposure because of the Steam Deck this is what hardcore Linux aficionados are waiting for
I'd like to know if King of Fighters runs well. the old ones (98 and 2002) don't run on my Arch laptop
Weird request: could you do a video with a hardware enthusiast person swapping the SSD?
I’m on preorder list - how do they notify you when yours is available to purchase? Just via steam app?
In the Steam app, and you'll also get an email.
You can check your estimated delivery date by going to store.steampowered.com/steamdeck while logged in.
@@LinuxForEveryone Appreciate it! Yea have been checking the date. Q2 between June-Sept woot!
I'm getting windows on my 512gb and keeping steam OS on my 64gb
It doesn't really matter how many titles get tested/verified if the experience isn't rock solid. If we have reports that multiple titles are not working under verified check mark from multiple sources AND plenty of unverified games work fine, it means the verified tile is completely useless or flat out damaging. I think any title that's received multiple reports needs to lose it verified status and they need to slow down, test individual titles more thoroughly.
i guess i’ll have to wait till steam deck 3 hits the shelves at this point ;(
I usually play under Windows when I'm playing on PC these days, thanks VR and Gamepass for that.
However, I also know that those games that I play on Gamepass would run fine with Proton as others have already tested it.
That said, I hope ChimeraOS adds the ability to switch the main monitor output because right now it doesn't work on the AyaNeo when docked.
My guess is same will be the case with SteamOS 3.0 once it releases to the public.
Jedva cekam da Steam Deck izadje u Srbiju.
Why would Valve slow down game certification? Surely the video author doesn’t think he is the only one playing on the SteamDeck and his game selection is the only one that matters?
What on earth are you talking about? First of all, I was JOKING because I have a such a huge backlog. I think the joke was clear in my tone and expression. In addition to that, there are MANY "Verified" titles that shouldn't be, so... maybe they SHOULD slow down, huh?
gunfire reborn is a great game
Vampire survivor, lags like hell and drop to single digit even on powerful pc. Ive seen several stream have this.
Should we blame the dev for the game suddenly running trash or should we blame valve for putting verified on a tittle that struggle on the late game.
...both? :D
@@LinuxForEveryone That fair HAHAH
Hoping for 7 Days to Die to work 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
Active los subtitulos porfa
Taking longer than expected, sorry.
gta 5 run well on steam deck medium settings 60 fps :)
verified title should be verified by gamers instead, like the rating (actually just another kind of rating)
of course it wouldnt be accurate but should be better than the current one
SECOND
You're first in my book.
@@LinuxForEveryone 💖💖
They can add all the games they want, im not buying unless they add fortnite, COD Mobile and Roblox
those arent valve's decision.. its the devs decision
Well don't hold your breath, none of those games are on Steam and I doubt they ever will be. You'll have to settle for your phone or a different computer. Thousands of other amazing games you can play instead though, don't have to just play what is popular!
Good. Please stay away.
@@Underdrill Unless he is trolling, one shouldn't judge what he wants to play.
And playability and availability is very important if we are talking about a gaming handheld.
You could wait for Waydroid(Like Wine but for Android) or Anbox(Android Emulator) to be made compatible with the Steam Deck via Flatpak since both needed to be installed via AUR or Arch Repositories which require root access.
Porn games on every screenshot, they sell more and more. A byproduct of COVID solitude :) ?
