My name is Gylfi and I'm a professional Icelander, using my local knowledge bring Iceland to you, and I'm also here to help you to make our own perfect travel plan to home country.
My approach is however the " non touristy way" or Iceland as is, from my own heart, with a dash of sarcasm or humour when I feel so. Your chance to get to know my Iceland like I would like my friends to know my country.
Channel support is highly appreciated and needed in order make this into a full time work for me, but it's a struggle while I'm still creating one the largest video information source out there. It's Hard To Wait For The Next Eruption While The Risk Of Major Damage Increases
17 million cubic meters of magma in a pressurising magma chamber by Grindavik are a growing concern due to the damage we foresee because the town's defenses are already damaged. We could get lucky and the eruption occurs further north than the last one, but it's uncertain and it looks more and more likely that we might get just another surprise.
I decided to be very stubborn in my attempt to photograph the beginning of the next eruption which is an important piece of footage in a collection that has been in production since 2021, and the final piece I need in order to make the first 8 eruption into a documentary. So I slept in the car in order to be close by because if I'm not pithing the region when this starts, I won't get kind of footage i want. so spent the days moving around filming, and my back still hurts bad now, only me to blame. But I tried, and I will try again soon. In the worst case scenario, drive the 5 hours from home as soon as this starts.
Me and Shawn Willsey will finally do the interview he asked me to do months ago tomorrow and check his channel for that. He's a geology Professor and done a fantastic job when it comes to the in depth analysis that we don't get from local experts.

Hiya, I have no idea whether one can do a 'private' thing here, so, never mind... I may shortly be about to retire from work and maybe travel around my country and I would like to be taking good drone footage wherever I go. Do you have any recommendations about specific drones to look at (or maybe more importantly, ones to avoid!)? Thx. K
I highly recommend the DJI Air3, it has also a zoom lans that opens so many different ways to film, fast, good battery, and excellent image quality.

Gylfi, I would get a much more capable off-road vehicle than that white one we saw driving (if that was you), for driving around on that terrain! I'm sure you know how punishing that surface can be to a vehicle. Thanks for the report.

It is time for the full moon and high tide. My prediction is in a few days from now.
As I was watching your video where you were driving over what just looked like a very rough patch of ground and then you said it was the plate boundary, I was totally awestruck by the idea that a structure that is so essential to the planet was right there where you could drive over it in your car. Amazing! Thank you so much for giving me that moment. Irreplaceable.

Despite all our technology, Nature can still keep us guessing what's going on just a kilometre or two beneath our feet. A reminder that we're not so clever and powerful after all. I hope events in Iceland turn out to be less serious than you fear.
