Reykjavik Spring View - Drone Circle With Zoom For The Volcano Background
Vložit
- čas přidán 11. 04. 2024
- This drone circle tour was filmed early spring to give you an idea about the complete metropolitan area that is in fact 6 municipalities. We start in Hafnarfjörður where we enter the greater capital region from the Keflavik Int. Airport and end where we overlook the Reykjanes Peninsula. Er can see the shield volcano Þráinsskjöldur in front of the smoke from the ongoing volcanic eruption by Grindavik. This the dull yellow season for me but the topography pops quite well and it was a clear day so this fits my goal to show Iceland as is, but not just the sun and green side, although I do that too of course. The video was shot March 26th 2024.

Thank you for visiting the Just Icelandic Channel.
Greetings from Iceland. Gylfi
The slowest pan in the history of film-making, set to some delightful piano music.
Wonderful !!!
Thank you, Gylfi.
I have TBH I expected Ragnarök Viking heavy battle scene heavy music with horns blowing and lava spitting out....In the end of course :-) :-) . But I know this area very well for all the years I have visited Iceland (The last 30 or so). The area is of course the main road between airport and RKJ. I remember on my very first visit to Iceland back in early 90s, after my father just picked me up at the airport, I said: "Look the right, there is NEW lava. Coming from an engineer and geological driven Icelandic family, I forgot the preciseness of his comment and answered: "Where is it"? ??"Answer was yes, new but 1000 years old. When all these eruptions started Gylfi I always wondered what my father would have said. :-) Bless them now and bless your work and Icelanders who need to survive this. The tourism and number of likes has made us a bit too opportunistic in my view. Bless bless
@@eroche12 How we all live and learn, and a well done A-plus for your response above, even though these days I do not mark papers. But if I did...well, your words and blessings above speak eloquently. Thank you! And yes! You passed the course with flying colours!
Iceland on a sunny day is hard to beat.
I agree :)
Agree, I lived in Saudarkrokur and it’s beautiful when it’s sunny, you can see all the islands in the bay, snow shining on the mountains. The road to akureyri through siglufjordur and olafsjordur ir amazing.
Spectacular Gylfi!
Thanks a ton and welcome
Thank you for a mini vacation ☺️
Any time!
♥You are a wonderful ambassador for your homeland, Gylfi. You make even what appears desolate and sparce seem majestic.♥
Sparseness is relative and here equates to "having some space" in which to recalibrate our expectations, thoughts, feelings, senses... leaving some room for the majesty of 'huge' and the smaller scale of 'delicate, vulnerable, fragile detail' and delightful surprises. ❤
It is majestic surely!😊
The lack of skyscrapers delights me Motherearth is so so beautiful.
Pressing the “like” button does not seem enough for such an excellent view of Iceland. Thank you. 👏👏
😊 thanks a ton 😊
Thank you for sharing this incredible scenery with people around the world, Gylfi. ❤
My pleasure 😊
Very soothing.
Enjoy :)
If I ever earn enough to make a visit, I shall. Glad that Iceland has a wealth of discerning enthusiasts drawn in by the work of Icelandic vloggers, I hope the visitors who arrive in future, and stay and tour, will forever be generous, appreciative, well-behaved and respectful as your followers on CZcams! 🎉
It took me a few years to save and visit, but it doesn’t have to be a wallet breaker trip. Not sure where you live, but well planned it can be affordable. A place that will penetrate your soul. Gylfi emulates its spirit and energy.
Honestly, I don’t know if you are from the US but Americans vastly overestimate the cost of overseas travel. If you are a smart consumer, you can do it for much less than a domestic trip to WDW. It helps to stay up to date on airline sales and car rental deals. The hotels in Iceland are reasonable (most of the season) and you can always cut costs by grocery shopping @ Netto or Bonus for breakfast or dinner. Skip the BL and do a more reasonable or free (more authentic) bathing experience. The scenery is there for you whenever you’re ready to go. It is an unforgettable place! 😊
@@dianem2071😅
@@ericafors6039you're totally right. We just returned from Iceland and it was cheaper than WDW easily. I'm not going to say it was cheap, but you could do it cheaper than we did.
Coming from the US it is the EASIEST country to visit. You drive on the same side of the road, same side for the steering wheel, everything is paid via card. And everyone knows English.
Just don't be stupid when you're there. My respectful. Try to learn the culture. And really just be there. I've never been anywhere that beautiful. I've done Hawaii (big island and Kauai), and while beautiful Iceland is even more so IMO.
I love the contrast between the snow-capped mountains, the yellow plains and the deep green forests. Iceland is so unique in its geography.
A'm always finding something new :)
So beautiful! Looks like a lovely city. Your footage is stunning and your choice of music is perfection, as always. Thank you!
Thank you very much!
Another beautiful and surprisingly moving video, helped by the delightful and whistful piano. The unique scenery and the people going about their business takes me to another world that I hope to experience for myself one day. Thank you.
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Spent several days in Reykjavik last year. Beautiful. The food was great and the whale watching trip was surprisingly good. Whales were not terribly active but we saw dozens of them.
I was filing these fellow last year, just looked out the window and here they were :) czcams.com/video/Q49SK_cJ_5A/video.html
You captured the feeling of - how Precious life is. 🙏
😊 welcome
A beautiful video - especially during the night when sleep evades me. 😊x
Glad you enjoyed it!
VERY NICE THANK YOU 👍🙏>>>💚
Thanks for visiting
Well done Gylfi - superb pano of a shield volcano. It is a rugged landscape, and having visited Iceland there is that constant biting, cold wind with temps barely above freezing in Summer.
Beautiful video and music. It is surprising to see how much open space is within or next to the cities, for someone from a large city. The brown landscape has its own beauty. Here in Southern California, the brown season is during the summer and fall and March-April is when the hills are green after the winter rains.
Stunningly beautiful, exquisitely filmed.
Thank you, Gylfi, you are a true artist.
Greetings from 🇨🇦
PS the music was perfect for this video.
Beautiful Iceland of the north.
Thanks )
What a wonderful, beautiful country you have.
It’s easy to see why your country has some of the highest happiness rates in the world.
😊 welcome
Thank you for this beautiful combination of sight and sound. Although the latest eruptions are a local disaster, this video puts it into perspective. There is so much more to Iceland - so keep on visiting!
Wow. Very nicely done. Thank you very much. ❤❤❤❤
Most welcome 😊
Wonderful , again. Thank you. 😍
Thanks again!
Reykjavik is a wonderful place my favourite capital city , so many places to visit everyone so welcoming, thank you for the beautiful film and music
Thank you for visiting 😊
A beautiful piece of "slow TV". Thanks again, Gylfi.
Many thanks 😊
The music encapsulated the the whole essence of your video palette. Thank you. It is wonderful.
Thank you very much!
It was a brilliant day. Thanks for being there to film.
😊 enjoy
Peace to Iceland, JH ✌🏻🙏🏻
Peace ✌🏻
Strange to be reminded this way that it used to be home for 13 years. Thanks.
Welcome :)
Hi Gylfi!! Your videos just keep on improving all the time. Always a pleasure to see them early in my day. Keep up the great work. Many THANKS and best regards and greetings from NZ.
Thank you so much☺
Pure magic Gylfi!
👍 Thanks Diane :)
What I love in Icelandic settlements is the fact, that, although densly populated, the buildins are of moderate height and modest in appearance. Nothing exaggerated to "show off", but seemingly nice, well kept and apt to provide honest and comfortable living conditions. Would very much like tp experience this myself.
Thank you Gylfi, for showing us and for being the person you are.
Love getting a big picture sense of the city!!
😊 welcome
❤ thank you.
Welcome!
Stunning country, would love to spend more time in Iceland. ❤
Welcome to Iceland :)

Thank you, Gylfi, for that gorgeous video! Huge expansion of the Reykjavik area since I was there last 10 years ago.
Yes, a but to much expansion though to the south, the plate boundaries :) and thanks for visiting :)
Thanks again Gylfi! :-)
My pleasure!
Sublime. Just utterly sublime, Gylfi. 😎

Wow Gylfi, that was awesome!

Wow that water is breathtaking 💙💙 wonderful footage, I’ve never seen Reykjavík before.. oh how I wish I could wake up to that view everyday 🤗🥰
Once again, a beautiful film showing the sprawling metropolis that is Reykjavik and the peninsula. Brings back fond memories of a special holiday. I've never been able to describe the views. Now I can share you link and my friends can see for themselves. Thank you.
Thanks you very much and enjoy :)
Splendid.

Stunning video with very relaxing music, Thank you
Many thanks!
Beautiful 👍🏼✨
Thank you! 😊
You always choose the most beautiful music to accompany your filming. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you.
Thank you very much!
So beautiful, if my health was better I would be over there. I adore mountains, all mountains and not just volcanoes. Your film conveyed the mystery that lingers in the unexplored areas and the music was perfect. Thank you for your amazing work. You are the best advertisement for Iceland. ❤
The backdrop of the mountains is fabulous - and the slow pan with wonderful relaxing piano music is a joy. Thank you for that😀👍
Many thanks!
It made me so happy to see the beautiful views of Reykjavik and surroundings. I have to admit that I am addicted to your videos Gylfi!
I love Iceland it is my favourite country to visit. It started many years ago when watching the serie Nonni og Manni with my children on
Dutch television. But it took a long time when I was able to go to my dreamland. In 1999 I could go at last because my husband had a job to do there and I could visit him. Together with three friends we did the Golden Circle in the end of march, after swimming in the Blue Lagoon which was a wonderful experience! There was a lot of snow then and very sunny. We saw all the hotspots and there were just the four of us, no other person to see! In Vik we were lying in the snow in the sun it was like a fairytale and the only visitor on the black beach was a seal!
What a difference when we came back in 2018: when visiting the same places there were restaurants and parkinglodges where te first time only was silence, peace and nature…and so many people!,It was a bit a shock but we rented a car fled from the crowd and found beautiful and sereen places again where we almost were alone. We had a great time! Landmannalaugur was also a super place to be! We came back twice after that visit and stayed in Hafnarfjörder where my son is living at the moment and had a fabulous time, also did some hiking and saw Iceland is also beautiful in summer. In 2023 at the end of October we went for the fifth time and now to Akureyri where my son had rented a cabin.
This is a place we really want to visit again, beautiful scenery ad because it was autumn not crowded and so peaceful! Did a lot of trips and the weather was so nice, we were lucky then. And I was so glad seeing the Nonnihus the place where the writer of the Nonni and Manni books had lived, didn’t know that so it was a big surprise. We also saw the northern lights for three evenings in a row: magnificent, one of my wishes came true. There s just one wish left that is to see an irruption in reality. Perhaps ….some day….and if not I always can relie on you Gylfi and your drone.
Greetings from the Netherlands
Thank you. That was exquisite. What a beautiful world we live in!
It really is!
Wow... just wow 😊
Welcome 😊
The moment I stepped foot in Iceland, I fell in love. Looking forward to another trip in the fall to try to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights, and my dream is to one day live there.
Thank you for all of your videos, they are fantastic. :)
Just...Wow! I'm blown away by those mountains. Thanks, Gylfi!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow - so many apartment blocks going up! I keep reading that the housing crisis in Reykjavik is quite significant. And I also just found out that Reykjavik will be in the path of a total solar eclipse in 2026!
This video is perfect for relaxing. Such a calm image, harmonious view and suitable music. Thanks!
Many thanks!
❤❤❤
❤ welcome
Takk Gylfi 🙌👏🙌👏🙌 Þetta var hreinasta snilld, rétt fyrir svefninn ☺️
Meira á leiðinni :)
Beautiful! And beautiful comments from others. Thanks so much! This is yet another winner in your cache of amazing videos.
Thank you very much :)
Beautiful! So much to look at. I noticed that a good many of the buildings and houses have flat roofs. Do you have any problems with heavy snow building up on the roofs, or does this part of the country not have as much snow? I've discovered that your videos are perfect for testing computer monitors. The contrast and resolution is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your country with us.
Thank you for all you do to keep us not only informed about the volcanic activities but to remind us of how beautiful Iceland truly is,
All the best Jules 💕
The first pictures showed Reykjavik at the Mediterranean, but then the mountains made it clear 😉. Beautiful footage and, I think after a couple of years watching Icelandic webcams, a very rare perfect day.
Thank you very much 😊
The only time I visited Iceland, I was ready to move in, and I did not want to go home! Gylfi, you're making me yearn to come back to Iceland so much. I wish I had the funds! 😮
Lovely panorama. And weather too. Thanks, Gylfi.
Thank you too!
Volcanic eruption on the horizon at 9:00

All good 😊 and thanks for asking 😊
That is so relaxing to watch and listen to! Wonderful, Gylfi! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very interesting and perhaps the most intricate view I've ever seen of Iceland. I found this relaxing and disturbing at the same time. Well done.
Many thanks :) more to come
Prachtig land♥️
Welcome :)
Another beautiful job, Gylfi. Gorgeous.
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful City!
We agree!
Just wow! I'm sitting here and my whole body and mind has just de stressed watching your gorgeous drone work and listening to this beautiful piece of accompanying music. Thank you so much, you are the best. 💖👌😌😌🧘🏼♀️🇦🇺
I have been to Iceland. In some ways it is otherworldly. Reykjavik looks much like a town in any country.
It is :) just an ordinary town
Thanks for the tour! 😊
Any time!
Sooo lovely 😍 thank you 😊
Thank you! 😊
Love this footage! I can look at this all day. Would be nice if you could do something similar during the summer when everything is green. Or something more above the city, so we can see more of that.
That's the plan of course, this is just the yellow season :) the best has yet to come :)
@@JustIcelandic Awesome!
It's so beautiful! We have some offers with a French airline, I think I am going to visit soon.
😊 welcome to Iceland :)
I know you do a lot of work on these, and we appreciate your efforts. I do love how you put all the stuff in the description regarding your tools, but I would be interested in knowing the names of the songs you use. Just a thought.
thanks again!
It's in the description box :)
@@JustIcelandic I see the link to the site you use, I will have to check that out after the spacex launch
An excellent counter to the popularist BS videos about Iceland currently being in some sort of Dante's inferno.
Agreed. Powerful!
Thanks for your understanding :)

Trees have grown since the 80s... they used to be so tiny.
Just love your videos, especially this one. The music is so pretty, can you tell me what it's called? I would love to get the score! I didn't see many home gardens. Is the housing new, or is it the climate? Thank you for all you do in promoting Iceland, i hope the government acknowledges your efforts. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
