Ive always been atheist, andboth of my parents are atheists but i grew up in a very religious area. I learned from a very young age that if someone asked me what church i went too if i answered none i would get hostility and interrogation by people who were pretty friendly before hand. In that sense i have been conditioned to treat those interactions carefully. Thats my perspective on the initial question. Some people might have learned to keep their gaurds up around religious people like i did.

If the universe was created, we could just be the result of some bored being, or maybe we're the result of a project in a school of divine beings. You're making a giant leap to assume we were created, and another giant leap to assume this implies that we'll have some sort of eternal life. Every sign indicates that we will not have eternal life, that our consciousness is just a result of physical processes that will one day cease, regardless of whether or not we were created. The philosophical arguments supporting your case all have fallacies. And if you think have concluded that there is a god, then, by definition, you "believe" that there is a god, regardless of your own personal feelings towards the word "believe".

"City" is a noun. In this case, however, it describes what kind of lights we saw, so it serves as an adjective in the same way "agnostic" does when applied to "atheist." So, Patrick, armed with this knowledge, you may improve the quality of your discourse and cease repeatedly calling these shows with the same tired, fallacious argument. You're welcome.
