    WHAT IS TALK HEATHEN?
Talk Heathen is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared toward long-form and on-going dialogue with theists & atheists about religion, theism, & secularism. Talk Heathen is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
Talk Heathen is filmed in front of a live studio audience every week at the Freethought Library of the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop & support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing & friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of government-religion separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists & to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

I had a heart attack about 7 months ago, and my heart stopped for about 40 seconds before I was resuscitated. According to the hospital, I went unconscious for about a minute before my heart stopped. I honestly don't remember anything. The last thing I remember was clutching my chest in agony. Next thing I know I'm waking up in ICU. That, in and of itself doesn't mean anything, but yeah, no bright lights, or visions of angels, demons, heavens, or hells. No messages from grandma, or ominous heavenly warnings. *shrug*

    Yeah, no.

“Near life” is even more difficult.

Near death is not dead, IMO. Also, almost dead and nearly dead. Still alive also fits.

People all over the world have NDE's, yet they "see" a different heaven depending on what they believe in. If NDE's count as evidence, then all gods exist.

That's sounds like an interesting intro to a novel. Ten people from ten different religions all have a NDEs and see each other on the other side. After sometime their respective gods all show up simultaneously to claim the souls and arguments follow as each god thinks the others are frauds. The people are then thrust back into their bodies after seeing all of these "Gods" squabbling amongst them selves.

I've seen studies that show people from different cultures experience different things with NDE's. The tunnel and bright light experience is a western cultural thing. People in Hindu cultures don't experience that, and also don't see loved ones who have passed. They are taken to their Hindu gods and are sent back. People in Western culture often see loved ones, and are sent back because they are given another chance at life. In Hindu cultures they are sent back because they were the wrong person, not because they were given another chance. It all appears to be stuff that's going on in the brain subconsciously, tied to existing beliefs.

You are either lying or ignorant. DMT trips are not NDE's, nor the same experience at all. This has all been researched. Very different things.

"NDE point that life might go on."
Well, no. It's a NEAR death experience. Not a post-death experience. Life IS going on because death has not taken place.
