WHAT IS TALK HEATHEN?
Talk Heathen is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared toward long-form and on-going dialogue with theists & atheists about religion, theism, & secularism. Talk Heathen is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
Talk Heathen is filmed in front of a live studio audience every week at the Freethought Library of the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop & support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing & friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of government-religion separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists & to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

The problem with marriage being a religious institution is its also a legal contract with the government. It makes is unfair to provide rights to one group and not another

I appreciate your calling and leaving the message.
Unfortunately with my being in Britain this prohibits me from calling on a couple of counts.
1. The cost of calling internationally
2. The only time I could realistically call due to my schedule is the same time you said that you weren't free to call the show
3. I have a personal policy not to have these discussions in private.
Far too many times I've been invited to 'DM' only to find the person I'm talking to prefers a private format so when they are called out they aren't publicly accountable so I will ONLY have these discussions on a public forum
The offer remains to call the show (perhaps on one of your days off/a holiday day)
I am open to a PUBLIC one on one debate but be aware upfront I don't do them for free

You're just being silly now. You said that you couldn't call the show because that's when you work - that's fair enough but that's literally the only free time I have. If you're not available to call the show at that time it stands to reason that you can't take calls at that time either.
I don't talk privately with people because there is no accountability. I've had too many conversations where people have said X and when I point that out publicly they claim to have never said it. Do you think public accountability is a bad thing? This seems really strange.
It means I don't do public debates for free. I am a volunteer at the ACA, I give my time for free because it's a non profit organisation. However, if anyone wants me to do a formal public debate I charge for that as do most educators. I'm not sure why you think that's odd.
What happened to the Family Unit? The Mother and the father? Why are so many children being raised by a single mother or single father? According to the Abrahamic religions God {Yahweh} created Women by removing a rib from Adam {no Woman involved}. Does this mean that both Adam and Yahweh are Female and Male or does this mean that all Human Life were created by two Males? I know, don’t take the Bible literally. Facts are Facts, the Abrahamic Religions tell you Yahweh is a single Male Deity. The Lords Prayer says “Let it be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. On Earth you need a male and a female to produce Human Life. On Earth the Family unit is both the Mother and the Father. Why is this NOT so in Heaven? I am not saying Yahweh is not real he most certainly is, just look around.
We have a Heavenly Mother and Father that love us unconditionally, opposed to Yahweh who tells us we are no good, and that all Humans are evil and must Repent and give our souls to Him. DO NOT give your soul away!! You need it to connect to your Spiritual self. Yahweh will destroy you if you do not follow him properly, he will cast you into Hell fire, according to the Abrahamic religions. Our Spiritual Mother and Father will help you when you fall and help you to help yourself.
Yahweh: Single Male, vengeful, Jealous, Aggressive, Angry, creator of Wars.
The Holy Family: Mother and Father, Loves unconditionally. Who do you chose to follow?
What happened is that the people who followed the Abrahamic fanily unit don't usually act like a good family unit.
That's why we have to rethink and improve on the family unit, including different versions of family units.
