I didn't like it when it came out. Stopped playing not long after getting to England.... It was on sale on steam recently. So bought it. 100 hours in and still loving it. Originally I played oddasy and origins and then got valhalla. Maybe I was just over assassins creed at the time.

I played AC Odyssey, and now I'm playing Vallhala. And I really don't like Vallhala as much I liked Odysseys, and I think I'll give it one more day and then I'll probably stop. Why I don't like Vallhala? I don't understand main character, The main character is just bad person, and it's about raiding and stealing from innocent villages, and just... I can't agree with main character moral compass at all.

I wish someone would REALLY investigate why this game didn't have all the accoutrements it deserved. There has to be a story behind how it failed. It has so much potential to be something great and then it just falls flat. Like it wasn't complete and they rushed it. Story (lack therof) everything. I still play it and i am mystified as to why they would let something like this release the way it was...

I was lucky enough to not have a PS5 and instead an Xbox and multiple gaming PCs. Why lucky? Because I was able to play this at 4K @ 90 FPS on an absolute stunner of a TV (Samsung's replacement for the OLED). I found very very few FPS performance drops. Those did occur were only in a few cutscenes or if I failed to connect the controller to the PC before I launched the game. This game so far is one of if not my favorite game of all time.

I absolutely HATE the mythology parts of the game. All of that psychedelic trip that send eivor to Asgard or Jotunheim are the worst parts of the game for me. I wished the game focused more on the viking thing instead of going crazy on that Gods bs.

I hate it when people claim a game is bad because it's repetitious. I do not know a single game that doesn't have a repetitious formula.

I think there’s some great features in this game, but I enjoyed Odyssey and origins more. I hate stacking rocks and the trial mastery points are beyond frustrating. I think there’s more luck involved than skill

I'm just playing the game now...first time coming back to AC since AC3. This game is amazing! Frankly, I wish they would break this version of AC off from the main sci-fi storyline - this game is just a well-done historical game!

Been gaming my whole life(I'm old) and have been a PC gamer for just over 10 years. I've made more friends from this game than any other online game during my PC journey. It's so much fun and definitely brings people together.

That’s what I’ve been saying. Most game these days are so competitive, complicated and toxic. This game is one of the games we need right now. It’s chaotic, satisfying, simple but not too easy, fun with friends and community. in my humble opinion, it’s really a breath of fresh air.

I got this game a couple of months ago for about $20, and that is with the expansion pack included. Btw you hit every complaint i had with this game. Needless to say, I'm so glad i didn't shell out full price for this.

My biggest gripe with the game was that every suit was exactly the same save for different element or better damage of a type. Exact same skills, weapons, everything.

The game is absolute garbage at least on Xbox some of the executions, you’ll be just fighting air or it has a really bad issue with wanting to climb quite literally everything except the thing that you need to climb

I think the key difference between this game and older assassins creeds was activities in the older games were more contained and actually meant something. Just because we have MORE activities doesn't make the game any more bang for your buck it just means you get to do the same stuff MORE which makes it that more repetitive and shallow the more you do it. Secondly exploring the open world just isn't as rewarding. you'll be playing hours on end to find a spear that's ever so slightly different from the one you have, not to mention the crafting materials to upgrade your gear are purposefully sparse to make you buy microtransactions. Thirdly its the lack of narrative incentive to actually do half the stuff in that game. You only go on raids because it gives you new gear, you only clear outposts because it gives you xp, you only clear those pagan rituals because once again they give you xp. Everything is about the superficial stuff. Side quests exist but literally any side quest from the witcher 3 would have 10x more narrative depth than Valhalla. The only notable side activities are the stacking stones as they dive into Eivors relationship with his mother and the Assassin Tombs which provide a lot of lore and world building. Compare that to AC Brotherhood were like 90% of the open world activities tie back to the narrative. Ezio isn't clearing Borgia towers because it gives him some Florins so he can get a cool new sword. He does them because by destroying the Borgia towers he destroys a symbol of oppression and convinces the citizens of Rome to fight back. Furthermore it allows him to recruit assassins which ties into the gameplay because they help with stealth and combat but also ties into the plot point of rebuilding the brotherhood and his own arc of becoming a well respected mentor. The same goes for the war machines, not only are they all interesting and really fun set pieces but tie back to ruining the Borgias efforts outside of Rome. The Da Vinci disappearance literally ties up Lucrezia's story, Leonardo's but also shows Ezios first act of recognising his arrogance and letting someone else (Desmond) deal with the meaning behind the Pythagorean vault which leads him to his arc in revelations where he lets go of the creed, the messages left by the ones who came before and the pieces of Eden because he realises he cant accomplish all of this in one life time and his time is running out so he moves on. AND THIS IS ALL DONE IN A DLC SIDE QUEST. I'm sorry but I just don't see how any of Valhalla compares to what came before, franchise identity regardless Ubisoft's general design philosophy when making their games is just so incredibly shallow, superficial and lazy to what used to be.

They dislike Gotham Knights because a) it's not an Arkham game and b) you can't play as Batman. Which I personally think is stupid since we all knew this even before the game released. People don't handle change well, and will rush to cancel anything that's different.

This game could’ve been awesome if not forced into being a souls-like. Souls-likes about tailor crafted enemy design and animations yet none are present here. They knew how to make an action rpg filler with puzzles and should’ve just done that. It’s a good game but a terrible souls-like and overalş quality is affected by it. Played it 2 times but I have no desire to play it but Darksider 2, despite it’s flaws makes me want to play it at least once a year.

I honestly agree with this review. Traditional AC fans nitpick every single thing. AC has still retained a good part of its identity. The games just finally decided to look at other horizons and go in with the lore that barely gets explored. I love all of the games, but people are crazy if they think the older games are perfect. I honestly don't mind if AC makes one huge game, and one smaller like Valhalla and Mirage. Give us options, except dialogue options, and give us new amazing protagonists.
