Unless you want to play one of the most uniquely bizarre RPG's ever made. You can beat it in minutes. It's not perfect at all. And on 360 it was very broken last I looked. But Two Worlds 2 they stepped up and made a way better game. It released back in 2013 Two Worlds 2 and as of recently they released two new expansions for it.

    87 percent of people that has played three plus hours of Biomutant on Steam, has left positive reviews. The dislike we see is mostly from so called "reviewers", not necessarily gamers by heart. In my experience, this is a polished game, more polished than many other titles being released recently. Add to that the passion from a only 20 man strong studio, that already within a week after release has released a major patch/patches that not only fixes some of the flaws in the game, but also changes things due to community feedback. So yeah, you start to wonder why some reviews are way to harsh in my opinion. Would they have the same approach on a for example game by Activision? Don't think so. But you also have to realize that a negative review and title will most likely get you more clicks and views than a positive one, so that might come into play for some of these guys as well. Or they simply don't like fur 😄

    • @SlickGaming1
      @SlickGaming1  Před 3 lety +4

      Oh for sure!!! this game had barely any bugs, in fact the only ones were quest related that were fixed with a quick save and load. Compared to some triple A games, the quality of Biomutant is amazing. If its a game made by Activision I probably would be a lot harsher, because I expect more from them, because of how much more assets they have. Yeh well the thumbnail is a little click baity 😜

    • @40splishsplash
      @40splishsplash Před 3 lety +1

      @@SlickGaming1 I understand what you mean when it comes to Activision, which is good if you have that kind of motto, but my point though is that some reviewers(big channels) has said "a decent game" when it comes to a half broken or worse triple A title (don't wanna say who or what game), while they're going over the top harsh on Biomutant. So I meant that they might be thinking about their future relationship with that triple A publisher, when it comes to recieving games. Consciously or unconsciously, it's hard to say. That's one reason why I stopped reading or watching reviews many years ago, mostly waiting nowadays a week or two after the release of a game to see what the community (gamers) are saying and also what patches are being made. After that I make up my own decision whether I wanna buy the game or not, since many guys nowadays are paying way to much attention on scores such as metacritics for example. To be honest, this is the first time in years I've watched reviews on CZcams when it comes to a game (Biomutant). The main reason why is because I know some of the developers at Experiment101 and have therefore followed their work with this game for about four years. So I was honestly worried when trying the game for the first time; what if I didn't like it, lol? But I did, and here we are :)

    I love Biomutant. The first 30mins is a bit hit and miss, but once the world opens up, the game turns into pure joy. I love the rich atmosphere and the charm of everything; from the setting to the characters.
    Combat becomes a blast once you level up a bit and get good weapons. The perks and Wung Fu is so much fun to pull off.
    And the world was full of fun things to do. I'd normally set off on some quest and find a dozen distractions. Out posts, bunkers, vaults, towns and building to scavenge through. I liked the zen style exploration of big, open areas. I didn't need to be fighting something every 5 mins. And I did get random encounters. Sort of. Most enemies were around towns or locations of interest.
    Most reviewers dropped the ball with Biomutant. For every miss step it may take, it does a a dozen things right.

    The game is phenomenal. Haven't had as much fun in a game since maybe HZD. And this one has better melee combat than HZD.
    Also: a quest should have you go across the map. If it was a quest like "gather 5 flowers from directly around my area" everyone would hate it. And they'd be right. Your quests should be things the questgiver cannot accomplish themselves.
    One more thing: I never had a problem with higher level enemies. The game is pretty easy.

    I absolutely do not get all the hate for this game. Granted, I don't have a ton of time these days to dump hours in to games, and reviewers are getting paid to do just that, but I do't think I've ever seen such disparity between user reviews and critic reviews. Starting to think the critics are just getting jaded from doing the same thing day in and day out, so if something comes along that doesn't absolutely blow them away they talk trash and move on. I absolutely love this game. On your points about the empty world and side quests objectives being spread out, I didn't experience this personally.
    I spend most of my time roaming freely and leaping over cliffs, gliding over hills, and plunging into sewers. And even when I see super far objectives, I often change sidequests or fast travel. If I haven't been there? Great! New place to explore and unlock. Then I can fast travel later. One of the best parts of this game is the freedom of movement. I love zipping through the land like a parkour athlete, especially while using abilities (blaze, mucus bubble, levitate, etc.). As for emptiness? It never bothered me since I would run into a town or quest marker every minute or so, accidentally stumbling into an enemy on my free roaming adventure. Granted, I'm 20 hours into the game with 0 world eaters beat. I'm sure once I clear everything then it will feel empty since I've murdered all other life. But until then, I'm loving the experience.

    This game would be awesome if there was more npc attacks and a new soundtrack mabe it needs a buff or bigger punch. I would pay for dlc or vehicles to use in the world.

      the soundtrack is nice and calming and suits the game I feel. But I agree with you, it definitely needs more npc encounters.

    I bought a subscription to ea pro to play it is it worth full price of $60 us no if it was 40 that would of been a great price point for me even after patch the combat is still very clunky and if you don’t like crafting weapons I wouldn’t play this because I have played close to 20 hrs so far and am enjoying it and glad I got it cheap on pc. Or I would of waited foe either a used copy or a sale. It’s funny though for all the negative reviews this came follows allot of the same tropes others like this do all though I do agree I shouldn’t have to go to the other side of the map to complete side quests and that is with a majority of them other then miner one that you can do if you want but for the most part there just filler but it is fun and I’m enjoying it can’t say after I beat it though that I will actually do new game plus because just don’t see a reason too personally

    This game is an easier and better version of breath of the wild and the Witcher 3 in my opinion. Because I struggle in those games they're hard free roaming games where you have to somehow know shit in a insanely large map. But biomutant is different. I find it very fun and easy to navigate through the map. Reminds me a little bit of skyrim

    • @SlickGaming1
      @SlickGaming1  Před 2 lety

      Agreed. Witcher and Breath of the wild don't hold your hand when it comes to exploring and progressing, which can make it hard sometimes to know what to do or where to go. Or in the Witcher's case, how best to prepare for a fight. Biomutant is a great game! and I'm glad you enjoy it!
