I got the ps4 pro during the release of GOW and I had to look up the best ps4 games and HZD was a overlooked game for myself, it looks pretty but I didnt care much for the gameplay but since the complete edition on playstation store is $15 Im getting this for sure tomorow 👍🏼

I have bought roughly 40 games since this came out as well as downloaded every game of the month and have nearly filled my external harddrive and my ps4 is entierly full as well and I have been looking for a game that makes me feel the same HZD has made me feel and many are a load of fun but to this date I find myself still coming back to speed run HZD NG+ or play on my 100% load where I switch between Story to grind for supplies and 100,000 shards and then switch to Ultra Hard and kill machine after machine until I have to switch back and grind to do it all over. There is nothing more thrilling then taking down Thunder Jaws, Frost/Fire claws and other machines in Ultra Hard and having to utilize Aloy's every move and find the different weapons and moves for all the different machines. Mwah! Perfecto! I am enjoying Sekiro and Doom Eternal right now however I still spend 80% of my time gaming playing HZD even though I do enjoy those games as well.
an emotional attachment that i have ever had in a character..more than Geralt..the story and production is amazing..and the effort the producers took to fix the glitches was amazing..i hope Bethesda took a long look at this game, and the crap they have put out of late and learned a lesson..this game will be revered by many, for a long time..
Now that's a game I'm yet to play! Witcher 3 is next up after cyber punk!! Yeh I don't think there were many if any bugs I ran into in my playthroughs. or at least I didn't notice them. Well now that Bethesda got bought out by Microsoft, hopefully they can make quality games again, although I'm hoping they wont make it X Box exclusive, but it likely will be.

I agree to a certain degree. I think the story is about alloy finding her place in the world. That meant for her; finding out who her mother was and what her purpose in life was, and that's to stop the corrupted machines.

HZD IS LEGIT MY FAVOURITE GAME EVERR. ISTG, IT DESERVES WAY MORE RECOGNITION I SWEAR. I played the main game 10 times and did the 100% completion 4 times. I have over 250 hours too. I fucking love this game!!!!

Never used any other outfits besides her default and the Shield-Weaver. Also, always preferred running around as compared to using mounts. But really, imagine using a flying beast as a mount. That would be insane.

BEST GAME EVER! I am still playing it to this day! Over and over and over in NG+ and I love to spend days on end switching between story and Ultra hard killing machines in ultra hard and then grinding till I have 100,000 shards in story and then switch back to Ultra Hard and kill machines until I have to switch back to story to do it all over :)
@@SlickGaming1 I am, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War and hopefully a 3rd Middle Earth game are the main reason I plan on getting next gen as soon as possible I am taking a moral stand and refusing to pay a scalper to get the next Gen system or I would already have a ps5. I really like to platinum games so I will normally wait till they are on sell for $30 or less and then get them and play them at least until I platinum them if I actually enjoy them and I learned my lesson to never put my faith in a gaming company to do the right thing or do the game justice so even when HFW does come out I will probably wait at least long enough to watch streamers beat it and see honest reviews before I go and buy it myself because if a game is not worth the $60 I will wait till it is cheaper and polished with updates. I do expect HFW and GOW both will be games that I pay full price for though I have faith both will be as good if not better then the last ones. I am playing Sekiro on and off right now and I really like it as well and my hope is if they do another one or a game comes out like Sekiro that they take mechanics from Days Gone/Horizon and games like Bloodborne and throw some different twists on them because I would love to see a game utilize mechanics from all the big games and see if they can create a game that is tough, fast paced, has a good story, and uses many of the best gaming mechanics with an amazing sound track, ombauce, world lay out and new ways to easily get around the large world. I am really hopeful a game comes out that is able to blow minds of everyone, keeps the player engaged and is fast paced with a great story because if a game was able to put a little bit of everything in it and do so fluidly I have a feeling that it would end up being most people's game for the next Gen console. Horizon isn't for everyone but it has a play style most people enjoy and it does alot right and there have been many similar games and I'd love to see a game combine them all well still keeping people interested and not making the game chaotic or weird because if a company was able to do that it would require the game to be done flawlessly or no one would like it and it would flop.

@@SlickGaming1 it’s locked at 30 fps. Granted, it’s probably the smoothest 30 fps I’ve seen, with hardly any frame pacing issues (unlike say, Bloodborne). One of the reasons it was exciting to get this released on PC was so that it could finally be played at higher framerates, with the visuals pushed even further.
Hands down best game I've ever played. I'm not a big "RPG" gamer but the amount of skill it requires to fight the magnificent creatures of this game got me interested and everything else got me hooked. I could leave a whole rant about how amazing this game is but better yet go play it for yourself. It's free right now on the playstation store if I'm not mistaken. The PC version is what I have and would recommend if you have the choice.

If you buy PS4 for one game - it is this game. This game is better than everything he noted and than some. PLAY this game. Do all the quests - errands, side quests and main quests. This is the best open world game ever. I tried to play Witcher 3 after I finished Horizon zero dawn ( which I postponed as much as I could) and it Sucked. Game mechanics sucked, resource management sucked ( way too much stuff) - in comparison to HZD. Playing now The Last Of Us - and it is not even close in satisfaction levels.Its ok but It is not even a real open world game ( can't go back, can't roam, each mission has only one path for completion, missions have linear order for completion ). I'm new to gaming but so happy I played HZD. And of course, already pre ordered Horizon The Forbidden West.

It was a fantastic game. Don't get me wrong. But there are things about it that could be made a lot better. Among everything: the climbing and the ability to get anywhere on the map, and navigation and way points
There are a couple of really annoying things they did on purpose that I would have thrown out as the project manager. Quests like Ikrie's Challenge at the Frozen Wilds Hunting Grounds that's just plain idiotic, and completely altered from the rest of the game: You don't get to pick your bow or use any weapon coils. Instead, they give you a pea shooter with blunts. They stick you with a crappy Shadow Hunter bow with MINIMAL damage capability and only HALF the arrows you need to kill all the machines. Then speed up THEIR aggressive behavior while slowing Aloy's reaction time DOWN so it's impossible to avoid damage. The ARROW damage stats are way off and change every time you try a run too. One round you can kill all the scrappers in 12 shots, the next it takes 20. They also disabled the weapons menu so you can't make adjustments, the machines don't stay frozen for more than a couple seconds, the damage does NOT increase when they're stuck, and you only have your standard health bar to stay alive. No potions allowed. The "Ikrie" character is also completely worthless with her slingshot to the point I actually tried shooting HER in the head. She kept hitting ME instead of the damn machines. It took me an hour to realize how badly they screwed this mission up on purpose, and decided it wasn't worth the time, so I quit. It's the only quest I didn't WANT to complete on Ultra Hard. It's one thing to make one particular mission a little harder with stronger foes and overwhelming melee numbers, it's quite another to slow Aloy down and give her next to nothing to fight with. Only a couple of CZcams videos exist on beating this worthless quest and most of the comments aren't very happy with it.
Recently seen this game at a local Walmart, picked it up and thought about getting it, my daughter tells me everyone says the game isn't good..I put it back on the shelf. Damn! Is it really worth buying in 2020?
The plural of goose is geese. As in "who doesnt love invincible geese". If you want it to be singular you have to add an "a". But singular doesnt really make sense in that context to begin with.
HZD was a PS4 exclusive at release and the time of the video, so there are a lot of people who haven't had the chance to play the game, obviously with the Pc release its far more accessible. But your not wrong, Sony have mad a killing off this game

But even tsushima is better god of war is not a pure open world but its just brilliant and ghost os tsushima does not have a map as large as horizon but the game is better and prettier and the setting is ancient japan which is atleast as cool as fighting robots
@Banuner sekiro has difficulty settings the games pace is way faster so you need kills fast too you can play on charmless demon bell... It won't be easy that's for certain theres even a free boss rush mod now For god of war you should say you don't understand the system 😅 its fromsoft games that have bullshit mechanics not santa monica When something is red means you can't block it dodge or roll is your only option here When something is yellow you can't block it but you can perfectly time your block to perform a parry or you can dodge or roll Everything else can be blocked or parried There are some aoe attacks that you can't block or dodge you have to roll here but these are very rare As ypu go through the game you'll encounter same basic enemy (draugar) by in many variations... In ng+ most enemies get a few new moves On the hardest difficulty everything encounter is satisfying but if you just want to chill challange is also good
The thing about this game for me was I thought the story was really interesting but the execution wasn't the best. It kinda felt like all the missions were just go somewhere and have Aloy look around and watch a hologram. It's a cool story but watching holograms are just boring. Some of the machines are also just super OP for no reason. but the open world is stunning and I will pick up forbidden west because it will be cool on ps5
Aesthetics and graphics aside, I felt like this game was just another generic third person open world game with an uninteresting story, generic fetch side quests, boring melee combat, meaningless dialogue options with no consequences and an awful skill tree. It’s a watered down attempt at the Witcher 3 with robo dinos

@@SlickGaming1 no, i have the PS4 pro, it's running at 4k which is absolutely gorgeous. There's a performance mode in the settings but it doesn't bump the frame rate to 60, don't really know what it does.
This game blows.. I've never thought the world would be so chunky and hard to climb.. and the story is really lame... Like it starts off with the hero trying to get back into a clan that ejected her and her father and it's members are very abusive towards her.. like why??!!.. and she has to pass a test so she trains with her father... She wastes most of her tribal life span training to join some clan that throws rocks at her head... And it's like why didn't the father do the test and why have the sequence as a kid.. and why is my character a badass all of a sudden.. whereas most people are helpless.. and the hologram sequences.. they are so ungamey and boring.. and the game has a broken pc port... If you breath on the game wrong it has to do a update at the start that takes 1-2 hours before you can play. Trash. it's all so stupid. If I could i would refund

Randy I think your points about the chunky and hard to climb open world are really valid, however this isn't a modern assassins creed game, where you can literally climb anything. The game has set railing and markings of what can be climbed and what cannot. Id also like to add that it isn't Alloy's biological father, he was outcast with her in order to train her to survive and live on her own, and because she was outcast at a young age, all she wanted was company, friends and a meaningful life, which she thought she would get by joining the clan, through the trials. Obviously it doesn't play out like this, as she learns that just being in the clan doesn't change much. I can understand you might think the start of the story is a little cliché, but it doesn't ruin the entire story, at least for me.
@@minbari73 you misunderstood what I said. I was not upset about how or why the clan ejected Aloy and her father. I was upset that Aloy trained years to join with people that think she's trash. It makes no sense. Very bad writing.

A story with no adversity for the main character would be dull, she needed a reason to enter the wider world. It's a shame you missed it all.

This certainly wasn't locked at 60fps. It's was 30 on both modes.

They also disabled the weapons menu so you can't make adjustments, the machines don't stay frozen for more than a couple seconds, the damage does NOT increase when they're stuck, and you only have your standard health bar to stay alive. No potions allowed.
The "Ikrie" character is also completely worthless with her slingshot to the point I actually tried shooting HER in the head. She kept hitting ME instead of the damn machines.
It took me an hour to realize how badly they screwed this mission up on purpose, and decided it wasn't worth the time, so I quit. It's the only quest I didn't WANT to complete on Ultra Hard. It's one thing to make one particular mission a little harder with stronger foes and overwhelming melee numbers, it's quite another to slow Aloy down and give her next to nothing to fight with.
Only a couple of CZcams videos exist on beating this worthless quest and most of the comments aren't very happy with it.

Recently seen this game at a local Walmart, picked it up and thought about getting it, my daughter tells me everyone says the game isn't good..I put it back on the shelf. Damn! Is it really worth buying in 2020?

The plural of goose is geese. As in "who doesnt love invincible geese". If you want it to be singular you have to add an "a". But singular doesnt really make sense in that context to begin with.

HZD was a PS4 exclusive at release and the time of the video, so there are a lot of people who haven't had the chance to play the game, obviously with the Pc release its far more accessible. But your not wrong, Sony have mad a killing off this game

But even tsushima is better god of war is not a pure open world but its just brilliant and ghost os tsushima does not have a map as large as horizon but the game is better and prettier and the setting is ancient japan which is atleast as cool as fighting robots
@Banuner old and clunky I'm more of a combat person and its grown from 2015 sekiro was a way better game then bb just because of the combat
@Banuner sekiro has difficulty settings the games pace is way faster so you need kills fast too you can play on charmless demon bell... It won't be easy that's for certain theres even a free boss rush mod now
For god of war you should say you don't understand the system 😅 its fromsoft games that have bullshit mechanics not santa monica
When something is red means you can't block it dodge or roll is your only option here
When something is yellow you can't block it but you can perfectly time your block to perform a parry or you can dodge or roll
Everything else can be blocked or parried
There are some aoe attacks that you can't block or dodge you have to roll here but these are very rare
As ypu go through the game you'll encounter same basic enemy (draugar) by in many variations... In ng+ most enemies get a few new moves
On the hardest difficulty everything encounter is satisfying but if you just want to chill challange is also good

The thing about this game for me was I thought the story was really interesting but the execution wasn't the best. It kinda felt like all the missions were just go somewhere and have Aloy look around and watch a hologram. It's a cool story but watching holograms are just boring. Some of the machines are also just super OP for no reason. but the open world is stunning and I will pick up forbidden west because it will be cool on ps5
I can agree with that. I think I was able to get past the slightly repetitive gameplay elements, because the story was so interesting, for me at least

I can defiantly agree with that to a degree! I mean BOTW has so much freedom to do whatever you want in whatever order you want.
Aesthetics and graphics aside, I felt like this game was just another generic third person open world game with an uninteresting story, generic fetch side quests, boring melee combat, meaningless dialogue options with no consequences and an awful skill tree. It’s a watered down attempt at the Witcher 3 with robo dinos

It's not a melee combat game though. I wasn't bored with any of it. Enthralled with the entire 70 odd hours more like.

@@SlickGaming1 well yes it did the lore was one of the best things about it but it came to a point where the gameplay became too repetetive and the story lost its momentum and it just got sooooo boring took me like a year to finish it cus i kept putting it down for a month or two

Your correct on a regular ps4 its 30 fps, but on a ps4 pro, I'm pretty sure its 60 fps
@@SlickGaming1 no, i have the PS4 pro, it's running at 4k which is absolutely gorgeous. There's a performance mode in the settings but it doesn't bump the frame rate to 60, don't really know what it does.
@@SlickGaming1 No, it isn't 60 in both modes. It's why i gave up playing the ps4 version and continued years later with the far superior PC version.

This game blows.. I've never thought the world would be so chunky and hard to climb.. and the story is really lame... Like it starts off with the hero trying to get back into a clan that ejected her and her father and it's members are very abusive towards her.. like why??!!.. and she has to pass a test so she trains with her father... She wastes most of her tribal life span training to join some clan that throws rocks at her head... And it's like why didn't the father do the test and why have the sequence as a kid.. and why is my character a badass all of a sudden.. whereas most people are helpless.. and the hologram sequences.. they are so ungamey and boring.. and the game has a broken pc port... If you breath on the game wrong it has to do a update at the start that takes 1-2 hours before you can play. Trash. it's all so stupid. If I could i would refund

Randy I think your points about the chunky and hard to climb open world are really valid, however this isn't a modern assassins creed game, where you can literally climb anything. The game has set railing and markings of what can be climbed and what cannot. Id also like to add that it isn't Alloy's biological father, he was outcast with her in order to train her to survive and live on her own, and because she was outcast at a young age, all she wanted was company, friends and a meaningful life, which she thought she would get by joining the clan, through the trials. Obviously it doesn't play out like this, as she learns that just being in the clan doesn't change much. I can understand you might think the start of the story is a little cliché, but it doesn't ruin the entire story, at least for me.
@@minbari73 you misunderstood what I said. I was not upset about how or why the clan ejected Aloy and her father. I was upset that Aloy trained years to join with people that think she's trash. It makes no sense. Very bad writing.
@@KamalaChameleon you misunderstand the tribal nature of the characters in the game. Mainly because you dumped it before you found out about 98% of the story. A story with no adversity for the main character would be dull, she needed a reason to enter the wider world. It's a shame you missed it all.
