  • Hey guys I know its been a while, since my last upload, I was really busy over the Christmas holiday period! With family stuff and moving out, so I struggled for time to sit down and edit as well as record a video. But now that I have a little more time on my hands I can hopefully get videos out more frequently. The next video will likely be a Cyber punk video. Then after that I have plans to try out some different sort of content in the forms of challenges, so let me know if that sort of thing interests you at all.
    Thanks as always for supporting the channel! id love to hear your thoughts in the comments bellow as well as any feedback! And I wish you all a happy new year!

    One thing that I did that surprisingly really boosted my experience was turning off most of my HUD. The only things I left on was the Quiver, being able to see what I looted, subtitles, and contextual actions. You can adjust it to your liking but I found that taking away the compass, yours and your enemies health bars, adrenaline, etc made the world feel more immersive and things like combat and stealth feel more intense. It most certainly encouraged me to actually explore and enjoy the beauty of the world rather then just run from point A to point B

    • @akmal94ibrahim
      @akmal94ibrahim Před rokem +5

      I like doing this too with many games but with Ubisoft games, it doesn't really give you an alternative to those HUDs. You either have the HUDs or you are clueless as to what you need to know. You can't gauge your health or stamina without the HUD nor can you figure our where the next mission objective is because the map is too big, empty, samey-feeling and you keep jumping from one area to another, so you don't remember any of the area.

  • @luigi505buz5

    The game is repetitive and not repetitive at the same time. This is because valhalla gives the player different opportunities to approach any burden. The side quests are all unique and unexpectedly entertaining but they appear almost every where making them unique and repetitive at the same time. This is a major improvement compared to origins where not only the side quests were found everywhere, but the enemies where always the same along with the same side mission objective repeated for every single one.

    I like the way you put it at the end where the critics that didn't like this game had to rush to play it, when this isn't the kind of game to rush. It'd be like having to watch all of a TV show in one day. It would get exhausting. But having to take it in increments makes it so much more tolerable and even fun. And it’s really for the same reasons you mentioned in this vid. This game gives you so much freedom to do what you want. Honestly, Ubisoft should've made Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla a new IP. I'm not a big fan of the AC series but I can see how, even me as an RPG gamer who likes this gameplay more, the AC name is what's pulling these games down. Especially with Valhalla. It's really weird being a Viking, known for pillaging, massacring and raping (and we do it consistently in the game except for the raping) to be siding with the Assassins. Surely the Assassins aren't supposed to be okay with us pillaging monasteries and raiding villages. If only it has its own lore, the story would surely be more sensible and immersive.

  • @peterpike
    @peterpike Před 3 lety +8

    My only complaint with the combat is it's very frustrating when I have a line of attack planned against three or four enemies, I do my first strike and before I can carry through to the next enemy, I'm stuck waiting for a stupid kill animation that I've seen hundreds of times already and which only serves to break the flow of the battle. Invariably, when I return to having control, my camera will be in the wrong direction making it take that extra step to relocate my next target, who has probably already flanked me. Sure, I'm invulnerable during the animation, but do I really need to spend an extra 5 seconds repeatedly pounding a guy with his own broadsword before I just stick it in the ground, when 1) I hacked him to pieces with my axe and 2) if you're giving away broadswords, why can't I just keep it? Either way, I'd much rather be able to attack, kill, and move on to maybe get the jump on the second character before he's in a position to counter me. It *feels* smoother that way. I think that if they're going to do any kill animations, it should *only* be on the final enemy.

Also little touches like being able to pull your hood up, social stealth making a return and being able to blend into the environment (benches, priests, using drunkards to lure enemies, etc ). The combat and stealth is much more grounded than it was in Odyssey where you were pretty much a demi god as Kassandra or Alexios.

As someone who only recently got back into gaming (thanks to Covid), games like this have made me see what I've been missing. I bought odyssey over the weekend because it was on sale online..im really loving it. And I heard valhalla was a bad game , before I bought odyssey. But after watching reviews it seems like something I'll enjoy more than odyssey..and odyssey is alot of fun . I'm having a blast with it. But valhalla looks a little darker, with all the Viking stuff. Im gonna have to get it once I finish odyssey. Maybe not right after, might be too much back to back but im definitely interested in it now. I saw alot of good things and bad things about both games. But what they say is bad about the odyssey, which is grinding, doesnt bother me. Im not having that problem and am enjoying the game. One thing i think is cool about valhalla is how you find less loot..Ita kinda annoying in odyssey that you constantly find new gear. It kinda takes away from finding anything when you find so much. Less is more. I think it's better if you find something and are forced to keep it awhile. But that's a minor complaint. I'm enjoying it as kassandra. Some of the most fun I've had in awhile on a game. I 100% agree with you. All Assassins creeds are the same thing repeated. Odyssey is a bigger more RPG version. I coukd care less about the "modern day" story bullshit. That got old a long time ago. Just give me a historical setting to kill in and I'm good lol. yeh I can agree with that. plus it doesn't really focus on assassins creed stealth mechanics like blending in,

      Its more of a isu focused game and thats the point with this game and the last one

    My first AC was assassins creed 2, while I love the format of the older games, I’ve only played valhalla of the new ones, I just see it as a Viking game more than an AC game and that helps me separate it enough from past expectations. I actually love Valhalla so much. Sure it can be repetitive, but at least it’s different and takes some risks.

      100% what the recent games are. they are more RPG than Assassins creed.

    About 32 hours in rank 200, this game is super long and massive. Wonder how all the regions compare to the size of the Witcher 3
