Playing Minecraft in real life
Playing Minecraft in real life is something i have been thinking about for a while and when @minecraft reached out for a collaboration I started thinking about how to implement ideas in the game into my physical reality. This project involves exploring my land in Joshua Tree and harvesting resources, using and making tools to create an inventory of building materials and then using those materials to make creative projects. I started with raw desert land and dug up some ground to turn into rammed earth blocks. There was a lot of experimentation with the mixes of soil and cement and i also tried using the same techniques to recycle materials like cardboard, glass and plastics. I used the blocks to make a garden that is based on the garden i built in game! #MinecraftPartner

DIY Korean BBQ Table
zhlédnutí 187KPřed 6 měsíci
I made a DIY wood fired Korean BBQ table that uses a Solo Stove so that no propane or gas is required. The concrete table is made from Quikrete 5000 Concrete mix. I used about 12 of the 50lbs bags. I used 1/2" rebar but wire mesh should also work if you don't have tools to cut steel. The concrete pieces weigh about 140-160 lbs each but I think I will make the next version of the concert table a...
Using Rocks to make a Bench
zhlédnutí 691KPřed 7 měsíci
I cut rocks and used them to make a bench. I bought a couple of rocks for about $8 each and the cut one side of the rocks to make them flat. I used an angle grinder with a diamond blade meant for tile and granite. I had a leftover piece of a 6by12 beam from the construction of my new house. These beams are 5-1/2" by 11-1/4" in the cross section. I carved the wood with a saw and machete at first...

I bought a Fir 4x8 from Home Depot and carved it into a bench with an angle grinder. This DIY bench took me about 6 hours of labor and only required a few basic power tools. A 4x8 is 3-1/2" inches by 7-1/4" inches and this one was 8 feet long. These are common at west coast home depots but I rarely saw them on the east coast when I was in Boston. Maybe in the future you can make a few more metal molds and mark a line on the inside so you can make more consistent blocks. This is definitely a cool technique and it’s really cool to use your local resources!
Due to space limitations this is a good setup for my space, but want to add jet pack for the back and a soft seat.
I’m not handy. I want someone to make me one. 😩 Just the wooden base. I can do the cushions.
Can you let me know how you break the bottles before use in the tumbler? It is a messy job and the pieces are pretty big.
Blimey, that's a first! Doing building work in bare feet, what could POSSIBLY go wrong???
amazing!
I’m convinced. Going to make one. What a fun project
Walczę już 3 dzień i nie działa. Nie wiem co robię nie tak
I'm needing to move to another home and the kitchens are lacking. You've inspired to make a moveable island with a combo of marble working surface and adjoining hardwood cutting board of an enormous size... Thank you for all your effort. You have been such an inspiration. Also looking fwd to Reset Hotel. I've never been drawn to the desert until now. It looks amazing.
🤘Wish I had seen this 9 years ago. I've been using canvas drop cloths. They might last 2 years. Thanks for the inspiring videos!
Wow, you opened my eyes to more possibilities... I want to be you when I grow up.
Great concept and execution. Another alternative is to drive a bunch of 8ft postmaster steel posts into the ground and weld/bolt onto that. Wrap them in wood, stone or any other finish of your choice. 🍷😁👌🏽
any recommendations on a submersible pump that would circulate the hot water to and from the hot water heater?

I truly believe that Microsoft should make a Minecraft based CAD program. Minecraft inspires so many aspiring architects and designers-including myself. It’s a platform we are all familiar with, and comfortable using.
Looking classy❤❤❤
Углы кровати открытый метал! Больно бить ногой😬
Good idea but for me result is not great. You should try to hide metal parts inside and cover them with wood. Metal is cold and it will be much better to touch only wooden parts.

I think the cubes in Minecraft are supposed to represent 1 cubic meter, but that probably would've been pretty hard to move around, haha
good idea thank you I'm from Morocco
I’m hoping you’re 40’ from a Joshua Tree……it’s code.
Is their a wood filler that can take on that white wash
The water heater they recommend is CRAP will not heat that much water and terrible quality (Chinese) junk! You can do the same thing with a stainless steel coil and use wood to fire the heater.
Any rammed earth needs to be mixed very well dry before adding water, which should ideally be no more than 10% by weight. Also bricks get stronger when you have aggregate in there (not bigger than 3/4) but will huge improvement in strength. But I love the iteration!!!
Why can’t we see more of the handsome dude in the thumbnail?
Congratulations, you invented low quality concrete.
The block with broken glass is a classic in Mexico
Yes, have seen it all over South America
This is so chill. Love it!
thank you!
Super cool. ❤❤❤
Wait, no one noticed that Ben didn't say Bye at the end of the video, is this a first??
oops!
Would grout stick to laminate?
i saw a DIY using 4x4's and 1 inch rods threaded at the ends with large metal wing nuts. it used no sealant, just tightening to hold it all together. a saluspa heater unit plumbed into it for heat and circulation, seems to be working just fine for my neighbors. i'll do the same once my soft tub starts to leak.
Audrey: They didn't use mud, they used sod, Dad. Clark: Right, Audrey, and when they ran out of sod, they used mud. Ellen: Clark, let's just skip the House of Mud.
I have some tempered glass i collected almost two years ago and now i'm wondering if i should mix it with cement and make sparkly glittering pavers for my garden! :o Thanks for the cool idea!
Wow sponsored by Minecraft. Congrats man!
How are you acting like this is sustainable when you are taking *steel* to produce these molds that took way more greenhouse gases and resources to produce? Don't get me wrong, I like your channel, and you're super creative, but don't use the "sustainability" narrative when this is clearly not sustainable mi amore
So many cool experiments! I hope you keep iterating on this.
I'm commenting to boost engagement!
wow, ultra ultra realistic 4k x 4k resource pack
The radiant heat from the blocks will create a micro climate for the plants, allowing them to survive the cold nights and extend your growing season into cooler months, cheers.
