I wanted sort of a sci fi look and I used white concrete formed with a lego and silicone mold. This is an easy way to make DIY silicone molds for concrete or epoxy. I used solid glass bricks on top of the concrete to capture some light.

The beacon is lit, Gondor calls for aid!!
That wooden block to reduce amount of silicone and act as position marker is a genius idea!
look fantastic, i think some type of film/gels under them to allow multi colors for each block could be a cool option as well
Because white LEDs work with phosphors, it's also worth exploring fluorescent pigments for this purpose.
Speaking of Dune, that LED light almost looks like a sand compactor
The way light reflects off those glass bricks is beautiful, I think if someone can make a bathtub out of those bricks, it'll feels like bathing in an ice tub, and that'll be kind of cool.
May be to connect the bricks with epoxy and glass fiber to smooth out the inner surface and to creat a non-slip bottom for safety?
Shades of Hugh Ferris' architectural designs. Well done, sir!
I hate light pollution. I can’t star gaze at night anymore. There should be more considerate people like Ben.
Tip: Don't use razor blades to remove hot glue--rubbing alcohol is perfect for that. The super small size of the alcohol molecule gets between the hot glue and most surfaces and 99% of the time you can just peel it right off!
What this person said. IPA and it will peel right off. For prototyping stuff this is a god send.
looks amazing against the evening backdrop
great sunsets out here
Love the dedication to keep this channel going, it’s so informative!
Really excited to see how this one was gonna turn out and it did not disappoint..
Protip from an ex-mason.. The best "diy concrete vibrator" is just a Sawzall with no blade in👍💯
yes! works well!
I was really excited to hear that Ridge has a 365 day return, because I hate mine. I got it during Black Friday last year. Turns out it’s a 99 day return window, which I just missed, so they won’t take it back. 😢
Great ideas from you lately, this included! Do you keep small experimental molds "at the ready" to use up excess silicone that's been mixed?
Thanks for Sharing Ben, can't wait for your buildings to go up is there going to be footage?
beautiful
your projects are getting more and more experimental, and that´s great, but i really miss the early videos, where a simple and ingenious process often resulted in an amazing product that look way more atractive/expensive that what you thought, like the launge chair, staircase or the classic bucket concrete stool!
-Best regards from Chile, hope this input is apreciated
Very nice, as a lamp designer, I like it a lot ❤
beautiful!
Looks great!
Thanks!
love this. ♥
Borderline LEGO abuse, but very impressed that you remove it without any adverse affects!!!
Man, what an amazing end result though
Another freakin fantastically COOL project Ben!! Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
thank you!
Wow, very cool, Ben! It as a certain Minas Tirith vibe to it! Sure hope Sauron's Morgul-host won't come and besiege Maker Ranch 2.0
Great video and super design. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Thank you! Cheers!
FYI- Liquid Nails Landscape Block adhesive or PL500 Landscape would have worked just fine in this application. They’re certainly not as strong as anchoring epoxy, but this option is a lot cheaper and plenty strong for decorative stuff.
Nice idea, in desert
or in mountain-snow maybe- with granit... orange-red light ?
Congrats -ü-
Ben, are you willing to provide a link for buying the glass bricks?
I sourced them on Alibaba
Yay toronto!🎉 Why toronto?!😮
