We Quakers today follow that message by being full pacifists - but, well, exactly as you say there's a time when war comes. Quakers have seen war come and served as unarmed combat medics. Quakers are against the start of the next war, and we call on all Christians to be against it with us. I have no doubt that when the next war starts, you, Reverend Trevors, will stand beside us saying "No." And then you'll cheer on those who help avoid the killing.

When I hear you speak it brings God's words to my mind; I can't quote book, chapter and verse, but "let him who is without sin caste the first stone", "vengeance is mine, says the Lord", God is love.

I find reading the Bible, fact checking statements, then just reflecting on the morals and beliefs I was raised to believe. It separates the wheat from the chaf. The bible is full of warnings. The 10 commandments. The beatitudes, proverbs, ecclesiastes. I read them and things are very simple to discern. Needless to say. Certain people and parties would gladly crucify Jesus today. I'm not happy saying it. But, many proclaim themselves Christian.

From around 14:55. So what were sexual norms and mores in the 1st century Roman Empire? Not straight/gay/bi/alternative. For men it was something like "dominant" vs "passive". Women were honored or shamed based on their chastity, marital fidelity, etc. There was no concept of a gay lifestyle really, or even much of a broad concept of a gay sexual orientation. A really sweet thing just happened to me. I was sitting down, next to the glass door that leads into our backyard to enjoy a cup of coffee. A young Robin (bird) was sitting right outside the door, looking at me, closing it's eyes gently and seemingly content. I just watched the bird and felt a sense of peace. I talked to it softly and it even seemed to answer. 😊 We are more connected to nature, God and the bigger picture than we think sometimes.

His hometown is "Oshu" in the northern province of Iwate. I find joy in explaining the real world to individuals that have feelings during time of choas. I have them shift their ocus and concentration on good things in their lives. Such as prayer, hobbies, lifting weights, music, friends and Family, home, garden etc. Where you place your attention and focus is your reality. I usually tell people that have the blues is to close their eyes and deep breath. And focus on the life force God has given them. Then ask them to list three of the best memories they have. And then they can focus on happier times. It works most of the time to break the cycle of depression and anxiety momentarily. Sometimes people need to see a professional that deals with matters of psychology, and that is OK. Everyone gets the blues and feel anxious from time to time, and by explaining to people they are not alone in this, sometimes makes a difference. Especially in younger folks. . In my weakness I am made strong in the ability to focus on Jesus in me. typical warm half of the year day for me: i wake at dawn and work in my little orchard. i pray. i chant. i meditate on readings. i am surrounded by the native bees all over my flowers. the birds eat out of my hand. the deer bring their young faun and munch on food i give them from my garden. i am not wealthy. i live on less than $10k/yr. but i would not trade places with any rich man. nature is the greatest teacher. it is also the best therapy. the nearer we are to God's creation, the nearer we are to God.
