    When I was a teenager and young Christian I worked on a farm. The summer months were busy with harvesting and picking fruit, so I usually had to work weekends. On Sundays I'd try and catch the 6 pm service. So I'd leave work, tear up to the Baptist chapel on my bike to make it in time, leaving my dirty work boots on the chapel doorstep. A few of the older church members grumbled about me in dirty work clothes. My response was God didn't care what I looked like and wore. He looks at our hearts. God was pleased that I made the effort to come and worship Him. A little mud and grime wasn't being disrespectful to God. He was happy seeing me as I was knowing my desire to worship with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

    It is so much easier to go by appearance. It takes thought to judge a person by their heart. I told my granddaughters that someone could be dressed nice and say what we want to hear, yet be dangerous. Someone could look grubby and disheveled and be the most honest, decent person you will ever meet.

    Wonderful talk, Rev. Ed. To find out that Jesus said to look at a man's heart just blew me away because that is the main criterion I use to judge another. After all, the heart is the seat of love, of courage, of integrity. Anything else is shallow and mostly meaningless and transient.

    Thank you Rev Ed for sharing this First Testament Bible story this is one of the stories I go to to push against the alt right evangelists who claim Trump as the choosen one. This and how King David prayed to God in humility asking for forgiveness and repenting his sin of taking another man's wife then sending the same husband to battle to be killed, on contrast to Trump who in an interview stated he doesn't pray for forgiveness as he feels he has done nothing requiring to be forgiven by God.
    This second story regarding King David I use as pushback again the hypocritical alt-right flimsy justification that Trump's un-christian words actions and behavior are ok as God uses broken people for his uses. All the great people of the Bible the God choose had sinned, had struggles and those whom society would not typically choose. However, they all, unless I'm grossly mistaken did their best to listen trust and follow God's plans. And, most of all humbly prayed for forgiveness when they sinned. That being the opposite of Trump who in his narcissistic arrogance believes being humble and admitting to any wrong is weakness.

    Hi Ed, I have watched most of your messages. I can only feel your message is to follow the teachings of Jesus. You speak of good works, loving your neighbor, and honoring God. That you chose to be a Christian. I do not come to condemn, but to speak the Truth of the Holy Spirit. You preach a good word. You never preach how the Holy Spirit convicted you of your Sin and to come to the Saving Grace of Jesus's work on the Cross for your redemption of your Sin and receiving of his Holy Spirit thru your Faith. If the Holy Spirit truly resides in your Soul, you must believe you are truly saved in the knowledge of the Truth, I believe you should speak it with your mouth and not thru your good works or how we should respect each other. Search your heart, to know if God truly resides in there and possesses your Soul. To not have the Holy Spirit, when you face Jesus face to face, will he say" Depart from me, for I NEVER KNEW YOU". We can not know Jesus WITHOUT having the Holy Spirit of TRUTH in us. May God Bless you.

      I've yet to hear the Rev say that "good works" are the qualifier to becoming a Christian. Quite the opposite. If you listen to his testimony Rev. Ed had a spiritual awakening, a conversion experience after spending many years growing up in church. Every one who is born again has their own "come to Jesus" moment. Some of us have a supernatural experience of brokenness, others a quiet realization of God's love and confession of their sins. If you cannot see the Holy Spirit in Rev Ed then you must be spiritually short-sighted. Being a Christian is much more than speaking in tongues and making a ruckus in church. The real work of Christianity is boots on the ground, loving your neighbor, serving those in need without judgement, and shining the light and love of God through your actions. God sees beyond denominations. I'm here from a Baptist and Brethren background. I follow Rev Ed because I see a humble man of Christ doing his best to serve God and not professing to know all the answers.

    • @ronniemorrison1347
      @ronniemorrison1347 Před měsícem

      @@Teresa-L.2024 I never mentioned "speaking in tongues or making any ruckus" I am saying the Holy Spirit IS Christianity and anyone professing to know Jesus Christ without the mention of, or recognizing the Saving power of the Holy Spirit in their life, is denying his existence and the promise of him that Jesus proclaimed he would give to all true believers at the moment of Salvation. If a person does not have the Holy Spirit Spirit inside, and yet say "I am a Christian" they are a liar and a false teacher and still in need of True deliverance thru his Blood, that Jesus shed on the Cross, so that ALL that come to him will be cleansed AND Sanctified and worthy of being in the presence of God.

      Mostly, this guy's interpretations are forced and problematic, but there ae some very interesting things in here. This guy starts out with some major truths that he then ignores throughout nearly his entire presentation. In Numbers 12, God tells Miriam and Aaron that while they are also prophets, Moses is something more than a prophet and everything God says to a prophet is given in symbolism. The guy repeatedly points out that every word of scripture is symbolism, but he refuses to understand that the things we can see are symbols of things we cannot see (Col 2:16, 17) where the "shadows" we can see are shadows of reality, which Paul states elsewhere is a reality above and beyond the three-dimensional space (or four-dimensional space-time) that we understand today.
      Paul, at a time that time as a dimension was not understood described reality as consisting of four dimensions. Today, theoretical physicist describe reality of consisting of anywhere from seven to 21 or maybe even 23 dimensions, and space-time is only a holographic projection or simulation, language very close to that used by Paul. The things we can see are symbols of the things we cannot see, and faith is defined as the evidence of those things we cannot see. On a quick side note, presumption is the opposite of faith according to biblical definition and something can only be defined as faith if at some point it can be verified. Most of what passes for faith is presumption, and can easily be proven to be so, not because the truth can be proven, but because the thing being claimed as truth is easily disproven by the available evidence.
      This guy wants to claim the symbolic things are symbols of other things that can be seen, and even states at one point that the symbol cannot possibly have a "spiritual" (symbol of the unseen) interpretation. Most, but not all, symbols are in some way defined in scripture, but whether clearly defined in scripture or not it is usually something that cannot be seen, although it may, at a very low level of understanding, manifest in some small way, as something that can be seen. For instance, the laws of warfare define a tree as a man (something that can be seen.) Other prophecies define a tree as a nation (something that cannot be seen; it is an abstract concept). And, as I often teach, especially in dream interpretation, sometimes a tree is just a tree. It's very easy to read way too much into prophecies, and I believe this guy is doing that.
      Many of his prophetic interpretations are forced, and his own logic and examples prove that he is trying to force a much bigger event into things that happen at a considerably smaller scale. My own study and experience show that if there is a physical manifestation of the prophecies while they are occurring in the unseen realms, those physical manifestations are very small and very localized. This guy provides his own proof of this with his mushroom clouds in a forest fire example. It is actually more common to see these effects in pyrotechnic shows. Have you ever gone to an airshow and seen the simulated bomb drops where explosions on the ground are set off in black powder bowls? It's also possible to see similar effects from gas explosions at a concert, although these are usually too small to adequately generate that type of a fireball and gas usually does not generate enough soot to have the dark smoke cloud, but the effect is still there. You don't need nukes to see what he then says HAS to be nukes. His interpretations are being forced.
      The sword in prophecy is the symbol of war, but that war does not have to be nuclear. On a smaller, personal scale, the sword is more a symbol of an execution. Ezekiel does many times reference the sword as one of the judgments of God. On a national scale that is certainly true, but God's fire is also repeatedly defined in the law and prophecy as his word. In Revelation 1, Jesus has a sword of fire proceeding from his mouth, and whether the judgments are individual, national or on the entire world, it is this sword, the words of his mouth, that perform the judgment. We are told we die the second death with him in baptism, and with a little more study, that death is reasonably easy to prove to be repentance and surrender to God's will instead of our own. This is what all of those prophecies are prophesying.
      I have never heard about the 70 Jubilee prophecy he referenced, but I know enough about time-cycles and how they work, and know enough about the original fulfillment of the 70 year judgment on Judah in Babylon to understand what he is saying and to believe it to be plausible, but up to this point the judgments are on the church, Israel and Judah, not Babylon and the Beast System which has been the tool of God's judgment against the church, Israel and Judah. That judgment may well be ending this year; there are other evidences of that so I would not be surprised, but the purpose would be to set the church, Israel and Judah free IF they have repented of the sins that sent them into judgment in the first place. God does not need war, much less nuclear war to bring that freedom. I would be very surprised if war is how that occurs, yet there are prophecies showing that God's people are to "fight wars" in courts both in heaven and on earth by my interpretation, to "drive out" the nations that are occupying our inheritance, the earth. However, these battles are fought with spiritual weapons and the sword of the spirit is the word of God, not nuclear bombs and God destroys his enemies by making them his friends.
      It is unwise to try to force physical interpretations on things that are to be seen spiritually. Another of the things we will experience in the "last days" is a plague of hailstones the weight of a talent of gold. He says a talent is approximately 75 pounds. That is true of silver and other lesser metals. For some reason, a talent of gold is usually said to be 100 pounds also some claim it is only 75 pounds. Isaiah 28 says our refuge of lies (presumption) will be swept away by hail, therefore, hail is the symbol of truth, the only thing that can overcome lies. Water weighs about eight pound per gallon, so a 100 pound hailstone would contain 12.5 gallons of water. That is a considerable volume. Have you seen a 10 gallon aquarium? Furthermore, a hailstone will be infused with a large volume of air, so maybe we should think of something the size of a 20 gallon aquarium. Hailstones are generated by uplift within a thunderstorm. If earth's atmosphere could generate the kind of winds that would provide that much uplift, all life on the planet would be destroyed before the hailstones could fall to the ground.
      No, these hailstones will be irrefutable truths that are completely and fully devastating to orange monsters and their followers, and will destroy their beloved lies completely. The symbols this guy is interpreting are highly unlikely to be physical war and physical weapons, much less the worst physical weapons known to man. At the same time, Jerusalem is a plural, so all prophecies of Jerusalem reference both the old Jerusalem in Palestine and the New Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven. With the establishment of the New Jerusalem, or even before, Jeremiah 19 says that the Old Jerusalem will be destroyed, never to be rebuilt again. Maybe a physical destruction is to be understood here but I doubt it; I believe the ideology it represents will be destroyed. If it is to be physically destroyed, I am willing to consider the possibility that in order for man to be discourages from rebuilding it, it will be destroyed by nuclear bombs, and maybe we should be watching what is happening over there now with that end in mind. If it has to be destroyed physically, we are nowhere near ready to have even the elect inherit the earth and rule and reign with Jesus, and the millennium will not yet happen, but that is a possibility we cannot just ignore.

    David wasn't picked for his gentleness. He was picked because he was skilled at killing with a sling. Upon becoming king, he betrayed Uriah, one of his most loyal men, because he wanted to get it on with Uriah's wife. David didn't have a good heart. Also, picking someone with a good heart would have been out of character for Samuel, a prophet who commanded that nothing be left breathing when the Israelites conquered a city.
