There should be no tax free status for any church, temple or mosque. If they don't take in enough they won't be taxed just like people with low income do not pay any federal taxes.

I was a Marine Corps Infantryman from 1977-1991. I did not attend church during those 14 years because I saw the hypocrisy of worshipping the King of Peace, the God of Love and devoting my life and skills to bringing death to others.
When I left the Marines I began to seek a church. I became an ardent pacifist. After 9/11 I joined the Mennonite Church. I am still fighting, within myself, the 14 years of Marine Corps training and at times struggle to pursue peace and God.

Before Pearl Harbor, the right wing America First movement was having conventions & parades in the United States equating Hitler with George Washington. Fascists were loud & proud in the United States until Fascists attacked us. And they rose back up in the United States as soon as WW2 was over. Communists were our allies in WW2, but the U.S. made them enemies at the end of the war, to start another war. I always appreciate your continued voice of sanity in response to these things.... I went back and watched the video where he said that and he also said "Some liberal somewhere's gonna say that sounds awful, well too bad." Well, it was Jesus who said the peacemakers, the meek, the persecuted, are all blessed and that it's to them that the kingdom of God belongs. He said to turn the other cheek, to walk another mile when forced to go one, to give your tunic when asked for your cloak. He told Peter to put away his sword. He harshly criticized the Pharisees for disparaging people they didn't like. "Some folks need killing." Well, that's exactly what they did to Jesus...

Lt Gov Robinson portrays the modern evangelical church exactly - claims to be Christian and to follow Christ but his words and actions are the exact opposite of everything Jesus commanded his people to do. War to defend one's nation or to truly defend others against an evil enemy might be allowable or necessary but declaring war on one's own people over race, religion, political ideologies, or whatever other stupid reason humans come up with is a huge sin. Using religion to attack others and conquer their land or take their resources is a huge sin. Using violence to force people to follow a particular religion or political ideology is a huge sin.
The church is going to pay a heavy price come judgment day because of its failure to hold to the very simple commandments that Jesus gave - Love God with all your being, love your neighbor as yourself (and Parable of the Good Samaritan defines neighbor as every human being), and treat others as you want them to treat you. Plus the idolatry in the church glorifying wealth and power, and in worshipping a very flawed, godless man who exemplifies all 7 of the deadly sins and then some show just how far the church has fallen away from following the REAL Lord.

Jesús taught a great lesson when confronted by the religious establishment to condemn a woman caught in sin. He simply asked them to turn that amazing zeal for the Lord and righteousness towards themselves. Let's see how we measure up. Are we without sin? Ummm mm no? Then, let's wait for the One who is in a position to judge! Lord, have mercy on us ALL!

@@tiandao8503 true. And also note they did not bring in the man who was sinning with her at that time when they brought her to Jesus. It just shows their own hypocrisy that it was never about the sin that the woman was doing. They intended to catch him in a hypocrisy but instead he turned in on them because they were guilty.

Thank you, Reverend. They are all part of a cadre of politicians who have ejected Jesus from their "Christianity" for being entirely too woke, too compassionate, too soft. I have no notion of who their Jesus is - I know it is not the Jesus of scripture, of the gospel, of the Sermon on Mount or of any community I want to be part of - it sadly resembles more closely those evils of which Robinson spoke. And it frightens a great many of US. Thank you again for your words of comfort.

Yeah, I agree. They literally had people come up from the congregation saying they didn't believe what the pastor was saying and he literally said it was quotes of Jesus own words and they still couldn't except it. This reminds me of the revelations, where the anti-christ transforms himself into an angel of light - 2 Corinthians 11:14. Which now reminds of the fact they created a gold statue of trump and people are literally kneeling and praying before it.

I am on your side as far as killing people killing is evil no matter who is doing it. What I want to say is this that killing a person who took another life does not bring that life back it does not detour others from taking another's life. What I do want to say is that the story you gave of the rich young man that came to Jesus asking what he needed to do to find eternal life the response that Jesus gave as this young man walked away saddened because he didn't get the answer that he wanted. The gospel says that Jesus looked after him with love in his heart and we need to remember that all things must be tempered true love.
